We were visiting the area from out of town and stopped here so our kids could play on the playground. Cottell Park has a nice playground! There are lots of things to climb, like a rock wall, a rope tower and more. There are also swings, bridges, monkey bars, spinny chairs, and more. The playground occupied my kids for a good half hour. This park also has a memorial dedicated to military veterans, and there are plaques to read and statues and flags to look at. All around the park is a nice paved walking trail, which winds its way around a pond. I saw many people walking while we were there, so it seems like it gets lots of use. There are also a couple of picnic shelters.

Beautiful park, play structures for every age, tons of seating, and intelligently designed. One of our favorites in the area.

Went looking for sunflowers. I had heard that there was a field of sunflowers across from the park. Turns out they planted soybeans this year the field is across from the part of the park that has the veteran memorials and the Bell. But the park had couple of playgrounds for the kids that were super nice one even had shading over the kids. Has a small Lake that requires a fishing license to fish. There were trees and flowers and benches. Lot of people playing with their kids or walking their dog. It was a nice little Park

Had a blast with the little one. The entrance was a little confusing at first. It's a good length of road to actually get over to the play set. You have to make your way around the softball field and lake to get over here. The parking is free and a short walk to the play ground. There are 2 separate playgrounds. One is for 2-5 and the other is for 5-12. My 4 year old (premature and developmentally delayed) was able to most of everything besides some rockwalls that are a little bit taller. It's relatively in a quite area but still plenty of kids to play with.

What a treasure we have! Summer camps for kids that don't break the budget. Thank you camp staffers. This year was kitchen concoction and spy and both were a hit.Music in the park. How relaxing to bring out chairs and a snack and chill with great music by the KY Orchestra. Thank you!

If you've ever wondered what the perfect park for an extended family with small children and elderly folk looks like, this is it! Cottell Park was designed for the family in mind; situated in Deerfield Township where there is no shortage of nice suburban families, there is a huge playground, a lake, tennis courts, a nice walking path, large green fields, and picnic areas. It's well maintained and very well manicured and along the walking path around the lake are little games that ask your child to use his/her brain a little, which can be a nice change for parents. Since I do not have kids however, I find that this park can be overrun with short people, especially around the 5~8 time frame on weekdays. Literally overrun.Do beware though, the grasses here have tons of fleas which love four legged creatures. Mine loves grass and he's rolled around in Sharon Woods plenty of times with no fleas. Not sure what's up with that!!The best part of Cottell Park is, while they have tons of family friendly events and outdoor movies during the summer, right across the street is a patch of land (about the size of the park) that Natorps uses to plant sunflowers. During the summer and towards the end of summer, the entire field is a small orchard on one side and the rest is sunflowers. It's an amazing picture opportunity, and there are plenty of suburbanites that flock to the field for those pictures!

If you are basic like me and you want to get an Instagram photo in a field of sunflowers, this is your best bet in the Cincinnati area. Totally free, the flowers bloom July-August. I was here August 4th at 8am to get the photo below. There were other people in the field taking photos of their kids, but you can go to the back to avoid the crowds. If you're a professional photographer, I recommend getting here before 8am to avoid the crowds.

This is a seasonal park if you're hear to see field of sunflowers. For the most part, this park is an active park. Lots of playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts and soccer fields. If your coming to see nature wait for late July or early August.

This is a neat little park, right across the street from a sunflower patch. Yes, we did the seasonal thing taking our toddler through the field. In addition to him loving it, we did too.In the actual park, we were impressed with the size of the area, facilities for kids, and the overall peaceful feel.Recommended for children and adults of all ages!

This is a great park! The sunflower field across the street is lovely. The park itself has some nice amenities, including a catch and release pond for fishing, two large playground structures geared towards varying age groups, a restroom/picnic shelter area, and an area where they hold outdoor concerts. It's very family friendly, and there were a lot of people enjoying the park during our visit. There is a nice paved walking trail that goes around the pond and offers suggestions on learning activities if you have some kids with you. Fun park!
