Cinema OTR

New spot alert! First off, I LOVE all things Black 90s Cinema, so I couldn't wait to try this place. The decor is an ode to many great 90s films and artists. The drink menu has some awesome pairings. Opening weekend was a smash and I'm sure will only continue as this place gets more well known. Despite the large crowd, the service was still pretty fast and overall good. Can't wait to go back for happy hour, more my speed than the bustling Saturday night.

1st visit was great. On this Thursday night happy hour was until 8pm with a 50% discount on every drink. Though I didn't come with friends, I was entertained by movies (Love and Basketball) and a dj. All of my drinks were prepared with quality and quick service! The atmosphere is spacious and good for small groups.

Braden was amazing! I enjoyed him being my bartender on a weeknight. It was probably on 6 ppl in the bar. The only thing they are missing is bar bites. There was a DJ coming in as we were leaving. I'd say the environment depends on the night and what's happening.

A bit better the second time around. Floor was not sticky my Love Jones was scrumptious. Anytime Nate the Great is the DJ there's fun!

I think I was expecting more with the black movie theme, I think the theme was not executed all that well. I imagined small TVs and movie posters being placed all over with black movies playing in the background, theme just didn't do it for me. The 2 drinks we had were really good. Whoever was in charge of created the cocktails, nailed it. I was a bit annoyed with the bar asking for my barstool at 10pm. I know signs are posted but I think it's actually pretty stupid to put the barstools away in anticipation of the crowd. They also collect menus to decrease the cocktail orders once it's crowded. All too weird for me. The dj was great and the party was going all night. If you love to dance, you will be right at home. At one point, it was just too crowded, we left. I'm 100% certain the bar was at capacity and they were still letting people in. Anyway, I'm glad we have something geared towards minorities in OTR.

If your apart of the LGBTQ i wouldn't recommend this bar, they pick and choose who they want in the bar, regardless of how long you stood outside the bar in line. they'll say their at capacity but constantly let who they want in. Im apart of the LGBTQ and they looked past me and my sister and continued to let people in. We we're in line and once we got to the front they stopped us but continued to let people in.

Great urban music but the vibe was sweaty and crowded. That wasn't even the downfall of the night, what really blew it for me was the costumer service. We got up to the bar finally after fighting through the crowd and was front and center enough to be seen by the bartenders behind the bar. The bartender that was closest to us was super rude. She gave us eye contact on multiple occasions but proceeded to ignore us every time. We even caught her attention to try and give her our drink orders but still got ignored she proceeded to make drinks for some guys that had just showed up to the bar and when she actually did take our order we had to yell so loud over the music only for her to make our drinks wrong with no amount of effort. We were there for at least 25 minutes waiting for her to acknowledge us. - T

This spot is great! It's definitely on the list of places to go. Especially for the Black community. I see some people saying it's too crowded but it's a bar... in OTR. That's how they all are! If you're looking for good drinks at an affordable price this is the place to go.

This place is horrible! It is way overcrowded and they have no air conditioning! I went there last week. It was just a lot of people standing around and hot as hell!
