Chubby Bunny Bakery

In the past 6 months I've developed a bunch of food allergies and sensitivities. If you've ever read any of my reviews, you know dessert is my favorite, so facing a birthday without being able to have cake or cookies as a result of needing to avoid dairy and wheat was daunting to say the least. Enter Chubby Bunny, a bakery catering to those with food challenges. What I love about this place is that they aren't just trying to make a version of something you've already had that might taste sort of like it, they're creating their own deliciousness and unique recipes that hold their own against any sweet I've had. The store itself is quaint and cute in the heart of downtown Hamilton. Inside, I was met with SO many options of things to try. I settled on a strawberry frosted chocolate brownie (incredibly decadent and the icing is so creamy and just sweet enough without being overly so), iced sugar cookie (dense and shortbread like, just the way I like it) and a salted chocolate chip cookie (probably my least favorite, but still a quality cookie). The staff is very friendly and eager to explain anything you need to know about ingredients or potential allergens. They also make custom cakes and cookies!

I am always on the look out for a bakery, and this one is definitely on the list for near by gems! We went a little over board for a weekend delight. The s'mores cookie is beyond delicious, heated up adds an additional gooey goodness! The oatmeal cream pie, was beyond delicious. The center was the perfect amount of sweet!The school lunch brownie is not to be passed up, the texture is perfect! So much chocolate! Carrot cake cupcake, the icing was the best that the babe has ever had! The ladies working were all very nice! Also check out the merch! If you're in the area make sure to pop in and grab something delicious!

Amazing that Chubby Bunny is all GF! But, I didn't realize they were also vegan, which is good for vegans, but maybe the recipes suffer a bit. You need to temper your expectations when ordering a "doughnut". It is a cupcake, in doughnut form. So, if you are expecting something akin to Krispy Kreme, you are in for a surprise. The pumpkin chocolate chip "donut" was very tasty though, all the fall vibes, would order again!The oatmeal creme pie was another standout..it was just like getting it in the store, but better!Some misses were the zucchini muffin - good consistency, but no zucchini flavor, and the s'mores donut - was too much, almost didn't finish it. The vanilla cupcake was not memorable.For being organic and non-GMO ingredients, the prices are VERY inexpensive! The staff was super nice, I'd go back again, even if it was just for the pumpkin donut/muffin. ;)

Chubby Bunny is my favorite little spot to hit on a Saturday morning out. It makes for a cute morning date to grab some treats, especially their AMAZING pumpkin bars (although, these aren't year round -- they probably should be though ). They are great with their customers, remembering the familiar faces and calling out those who ask for specific items by memory. Great place! Make the stop! Who knew vegan could taste so good!?

Raspberry Lemon cupcake, pumpkin donut, chocolate donut, brownies, oh my! The pumpkin donut was our favorite followed very closely to the chocolate muffin. A fresh cup of coffee and we were in a sugar coma. Absolutely amazing!It is so strange to walk into a bakery and know I can get just about anything in the case. Wheat free and soy free because of allergies and there were so many options

Two words ! Chocolate frosted brownie .ok that's 3 words .But omg amazing I get their products from jungle Jim's Fairfield.I need to actually go to the shop .

OH MY!!!! Today, while at Findlay Market, I was looking for some gluten-free sweets. I came across this item at a shop, and boy am I sure glad I picked it up!!! I've currently eaten 3 bites, you know, the whole desserts after dinner thing. I had to put it down, for fear I would eat them both RIGHT NOW!!!! I've never had a cookie with a creme middle taste this delicious!!! The chocolate is SPOT ON, the creamy middle is TO DIE FOR!!!! I'll definitely be back, you have a customer in me for life!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS!!

I think if I keep eating these cookies I will turn chubby! Lol Seriously great cookies I found at Findlay Market's Harmony Plant Fare. These gingerbread cookies were soft and a perfect blend of ginger and sweetness. I'd love to try the other treats someday!

A vegan, gluten free bakery opening in Hamilton is basically a dream come true. I've been following the Chubby Bunny Bakery for awhile. The products are available at both Jungle Jim's locations, Kofenya, the Moon Co-Op, Miami and Village Perks in Seven Mile. Sometimes at local events like Operation Pumpkin, too. But a real BAKERY in my hometown is really exciting. Their website says, "Everything we make is gluten, egg, dairy, and nut FREE and certified vegan. Some items contain soy, but if you have allergies to this or anything else, we can prepare any of our baked goods with substitute ingredients upon your request. We use organic and non-GMO ingredients--no preservatives or ingredients that you can't pronounce." Their location is conveniently located near True West and Unsung Salvage. A parking lot is right around the block. Today was opening day and I was really impressed at the number of customers already there purchasing baked goods and hummus. Chickpea Chicks hummus is also available at this location. And, while I have not tried it yet, I'm excited to report I bought some pumpkin curry hummus and they offer dessert hummus. I bought two chocolate chip cookies and a chocolate chip pumpkin donut. The pumpkin donuts are an absolute don't miss. I can't wait to try everything they have to offer.

What an amazing dream-come-true this wonderful bakery is for those who are both vegan and have gluten allergies--or not! The knowledgeable chefs and bakers create the best tasting desserts, cookies, brownies, and the list goes on. Superior to anything made with dairy! The service is superb and the super-friendly staff can guide you to whatever you want.
