The Chicken Mac Truck outside the old J. Gumbo location in Fairfield.
Honey Sriracha chicken at Chicken Mac Truck
Bourbon Chicken Mac. Dollar included in photo to show size - very small portion. Very plain dish. Mac is mushy and bland. $8 on 20180713
Honey Sriracha Chicken Mac. A little kick, but not too spicy. Delish!
Menuboard as of 20180713. I highly recommend the Zesty Chicken, tho it is a bit spicy

This truck is as if you took the most creamy and wonderful Mac and cheese and added amazingly flavored chicken and cornbread to boot! We loved this food truck and the awesome guy who owns it. I love that he had his sister helping because it made us want to go there even more. They were hilarious! Out of this world food and laughs were just what the doctor ordered.

While there is some tasty food to be had here, I believe the value proposition is fairly low, and most folks will still be hungry after eating a full meal hereThe setup is simple - a small bowl of mac n cheese either by itself or topped with some kind of chicken or chicken stew for a couple of bucks more The mac itself isnt very good. It creamy style, which is fine, but is on the bland side, not much cheese, not much flavor. The macaroni is overcooked to the point of near mushinessI've tried two of the toppings, the Bourbon chicken (no bourbon in it, sorry folks) and the Zesty chicken. The Bourbon was sauceless, which was disappointing, but the chicken was decently flavorful. See provided pic. The Zesty chicken was extremely good, a 4 or 5 star item by itself. So good that I am craving it as I write this. Very garlic-y and perhaps a bit too salty, but the flavor, just wow. That said, the Zesty is a little on the spicy-hot side, maybe about equal to a medium hot wing, so spice frowners bewareThe main problem is that you get very little food for the dollars spent.....in most cases, 8 bucks - to the point that anyone but a light eater will probably need to supplement their meal from this place with another side (or something) from elsewhereService was friendly, they take credit cards, and they will give you a sample if you ask - so recommend trying before buying, especially the Zesty

I've been a Chicken Mac Truck evangelist since my first bowl of Zesty Chicken Mac at Bunbury Music Festival last summer. My only regret is that I haven't had it often enough since then. I'm hoping that their schedule will pick up with summer on the way.Owners Casey and Jarod are super nice guys who morphed their Fairfield J. Gumbo franchise into a macaroni and cheese haven on wheels. You've got about a half-dozen sorts of chicken to choose from heaped high over a bowl of oozing, cheesy pasta (or rice for the gluten-free). Add a hunk of cornbread, and you'll fall into a heavenly food coma you won't regret. The Honey Sriracha and Zesty bowls are my favorites, but I think the Bourbon Chicken is too sweet.Depending on the event and location, bowls cost $7-$10 and are worth every penny (and more). You have to check social media or their website (chickenmactruck.com) to see where they're heading next. Read more at http://bit.ly/28RPXea.

Lucky enough to catch the Chicken Mac truck in Florida! Awesome mac and cheese, killer bourbon chicken mac and love the corn bread. Can't wait to try some of the other chicken macs. Hope this awesome truck keeps coming south for events!

I love Chicken Mac. Honey Siracha is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The portion is perfect especially with the cornbread I always feel full. My kids love the Mac and cheese they are super picky eaters but I always know I have a winner when we see this truck around. Totally recommend it!

So the Mac and cheese is probably kraft Mac and cheese and it was not creamy at all like the menu states, the chicken was alright a little too sweet and It had a bone in it . To me it felt like a stew the Mac and cheese was runny and it didn't appear to be cooked on the spot . Felt like it was warmed up instead . Not worth the $8

Last night at the Washington Park fireworks I saw countless Chicken Mac Truck bowls passing by me. After determining which truck was the source I approached and asked what their spiciest dish was, to which I was told Spicy Chicken Mac and offered a free sample. One taste and I promptly ordered a full serving. I mixed the mac n cheese with the spicy chicken sauce/soup and was delighted with the flavor and spiciness.

I go to events just to eat the food from this truck! I'm always disappointed if I go to a festival or event and they arent there! Imitations don't even come close!

I have seen this truck around the Cincinnati area a few times. My first experience was on fountain square where I had the buffalo chicken Mac it was delicious.!! They have different types of chicken topped over Mac n' cheese. My coworker was vegetarian and she loved the original creamy Mac 'n cheese especially with the sweet cornbread. I would highly recommend giving this truck a try, they will even give you a sample so you can find the one you like the best.

I had the privilege of trying this truck at a local festival and was super impressed with the speed at which I received my food. I had the honey sriracha chicken mac and was blown away by the flavor. I wanted to lick the bowl clean, but I took the sophisticated route. The cornbread really made it a complete meal and I will definitely be eating the again in the future!!
