Chicago Gyros & Dogs

I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant.I ordered the Cincy Chili Cheese Dog and the Gyro Provolone Burger.Both items were carefully packed in styrofoam containers and placed in a paper bag. Plenty of napkins and eating utensils were included. The Cincy Chili Cheese Dog was stuffed in a nice bun with chili and plenty of shredded cheddar cheese. The hot dog comes in the type of casing many would describe "snaps". Some may like this, some may not. But if you're a hot dog aficionado, you'll probably like it. The chili is similar to Cincinnati-style chili but perhaps not quite the same. It's not quite Gold Star or Skyline style. However, it is good. I like it. The hot dog was good.The Gyro Provolone Burger is a hamburger topped with gyro meat and provolone cheese. It also has shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce. The sandwich was thick and flavorful, and was placed on a gorgeous bun. It was very tasty and I enjoyed it a lot. I highly recommend this place. Order was accurate, packaged professionally and carefully and I found it was reasonably priced.

Well what can you say about a great Chicago hot dog , ok I'll say it it was great it had natural casing hot dog which are the best cause they give you that snap.We also ordered cheese fries but if you want the cheese on the fries you have to ask for it other wise it comes in a cup, and that's not how cheese fries are supposed to be, they're supposed to be smothered in cheese. The place when we walked in was a little dirty the floor had crap on it and the tables still had some residue from the people before. The service was just ok the girl that took our order had the personality of a dust mop, it was like we were bothering her coming in and ordering food, but that's been the only down fall. She really needs to smile. And that's the only reason why I'm giving this place a four star review in stead of five. We'll be back again.

For weeks I've planned to visit. Finally, I ordered a Gyro and Greek fries. The nice young man happily took my order and kept his smile when he brought my food to the table. Bonus points for having football on the television. The Gyro was fresh and well made. I'll order it again. It filled me up so much that I had to take my fries home. I can't rant enough about how fresh and delicious everything was, and how comfortable the environment is. I vote you get over there and be sure to ask them about the food challenge.

First time here and was hungry so ordered an appetizer. We started with domathes which were just bland. We had the gyro and the dougie with Greek fries. All were good and portions were large. But when looking over the menu the bacon avocado dog and thought I had to try it. It was ok but not something I would order again. There weren't any other customers dining in-a few to go orders picked up. Tables and booths as options for eating. TV in a corner for entertainment. Good for a quick bite.

My absolute FAVORITE place for a large greek salad with gyro meat! So Yum! Their salad dressing is flavorful and out of this world, and salad includes lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, mini pepperoncinis, a couple of Kalamata olives, and feta cheese. The salad is enough for my dinner, there's a lot of meat to this. My salad in the pic has extra dressing because my friend doesn't use salad dressing. Better for me . If you visit here on a Wednesday, there's a discount on the salad.

Today we decided to try out Chicago Gyros and Dogs again. After seeing all the posts this week lol. The last time we went it was disappointing the menu said the Italian beef is served on gonnella roll however it was just a hoagie bun that did not hold up after being dipped lol so we stopped going.So today the menu still says gonnella and it is not however they do use Turano rolls which is a great substitute for gonnella and it holds up after being dipped everything we ordered was very good and came out so quick. Definitely make sure to try this place out and if you tried it in the past and didn't care for it, do yourself a favor and give it another try.Italian beef (dipped, provolone, and giardinieria) no onions or peppers. Combo with the fries (do not skip on the fries they are really good)Small super greek salad with Falafel amd the Greek dressing. One of the best dressing I have had.

Don't make the mistake of thinking you can eat the giro in your car: overloaded and delicious!Great lunch place!

So much food. They don't skimp on a fry order. Vienna Beef hot dogs served Chicago style. Greek fry's are fabulous, feta makes it betta, and the Greek dressing takes it over the top. House made hummus, tzatziki, and Greek dressing is outstanding. Rice bowl is big enough for 2. Everything cook perfectly. Staff is fun and friendly.

My wife, Shirley, and I visited Chicago Gyros and Dogs for the first time tonite! Damn, where has this place been all my life?! I've been searching for someplace with GOOD Italian Roast Beef sandwiches! All the places (mostly Italian) had Italian sandwiches, made with pepperoni, salami, etc, but no Italian roast beef! This was almost as good as Chicago's Navy Piers Italian roast beef! DAMN GOOD SANDWICH. Shirley had the Philly gyro and she loved it. So after the Italian roast beef, I had to try the Italian combo, roast beef with Italian sausage! Holy sheep shit! It is also delicious. Well worth the trip and we will be returning!Thank you Chicago gyros and dogs for a great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great sandwich! Sorry I could only give 5 stars (deserves a 10 star review!)

Just boring. Italian beef combo. Uncooked onions and green peppers and the meat wasn't that great. Ate less than half of meal. Been here a few times, unfortunately we won't be back. Sorry
