Amazing experience! Food was delicious and you can tell how much pride they take in the dishes they serve. We had the orange duck and orange chicken as well as cordon bleu, so very good! Such a great find ...you should not miss the chance to try !

I am not changing my review below. However, the owner and chef has insinuated to my wife on her review of our dinner last night that we want something from him to give him more stars. (Changed to one star because of the owner) If you want more stars, serve better food and stop being an ass to people who drive to your restaurant and spend over $100. We want nothing from you.My recommendation to anyone who goes here is to keep your mouth shut....better yet, spend your hard earned dollars elsewhereVery uninspiring meal. We shared escargot which were very good. My wife had chicken risotto. She liked the risotto but the chicken was a bit dry and chewy. I had their version of onion soup which had little to no onion flavor and was completely bland. I had beef bourguignon for my entree and it was very good. The one thing I really was looking forward to, which was recommended by friends, was the chocolate mousse. It was good for a ganache, but it most certainly wasn't mousse. It was thick and dense and disappointing. We drove 45 minutes to get here and I probably wouldn't do it again.

The goat cheese toast was delicious. The beef bourguignon was a 10/10. The crepes were tasty. The side car was rich and vibrant. I would definitely visit again.

Reservation made for our first visit for a late valentine dinner with the family. Not sure where to check in and had to wait in the middle of the dining room. Quaint little place with a bar next door. The water and menus arrived after about 10 minutes. After about 20 minutes the person waiting on us came back to tell my husband the beer he asked for wasn't available. No menu or recommendation. He passed and just stayed with the water. The appetizer of salmon toast arrived at around 30 minutes and was good. Husband ended up getting drink napkins over in the bar since he couldn't find our waiter. When he did come back we asked for the napkins and silverware. A few minutes after the appetizers arrived, before we were even done with the toasts, our dinners started arriving. The first two dinners arrived, 5 minutes later two more arrived, and a few minutes later the plate to split (after we had ordered it to split). The mussels were okay but several empty. The frites were from the freezer and our college daughter commented that they were just like the ones in the dining hall. The cordon bleu did not appear to be a freshly made item either. The medium rare burger was rare, but the goat cheese was tasty. The cassoulet was the hit of the night. Brought home left over cassoulet and the burger to cook a bit more. One hour transaction that I won't get back. Understaffed and unimpressed.

Hidden gem. Kept meaning to try Chez Renée but always forget. Finally got there and it did not disappoint. Forgot to get pretty pictures, but enjoyed everything. We got the goat cheese toast starter, French shepherd's pie, goat cheese burger, two different cocktails, and had absolutely no room for dessert . (Service was great. We went early on a Saturday night and I think 5 or 6 other tables seated while we were there. Background music, but not loud like so many places. We'll definitely be back.

What a wonderful hidden gem! We've been here several times and the food is always amazing! Tried the Beef Bourguignon for the first time and the gravy was so rich and flavorful and the beef was so tender (perfect on a cold evening). My husband had the Chicken Persillade which is a favorite and we both got a side Pot O Grat (cheesy potatoes). Everything was delicious and service was excellent!

Not sure what to make of this place. I never see more than a few people in here. The French Onion was very disappointing. The entree was just ok , yet expensive. Surprised they still operate. The waitress was sweet and attentive.

First off, our server was nice and courteous. I believe her name was Tori? However, she did not ask how our food was. We wanted a glass of wine with our dinner but was never offered one until we had finished our meal. We did bring a glass of wine from the bar but finished the wine while eating our appetizer. We even set our empty wine glasses at the end of the table. We had some questions with the menu and she really couldn't answer. Maybe she was new? With that said.... The ambiance was nice and cozy. For an appetizer, we ordered the escargot. I thought was good but my husband was disappointed. He thought needed more seasoning, esp garlic. For my entree, I ordered the chicken risotto with creamy mushrooms. The risotto was delicious, however, my chicken was a little dry. Dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse. Was good but the texture was more like a ganache than a mousse. Maybe, that's how the French prepare it? I was looking for mousse not ganache. Overall, I'd give another go and try other entrees.***Your insinuation that I am looking for something from you is asinine. I'm not asking for anything and you not having thick enough skin to take an honest review of your food and the service at your restaurant is insulting and anyone thinking of spending their hard earned money for subpar food should think twice. Here it is in French in case you don't quite understand how a real review from someone who wasn't satisfied goes.
