Just out and about and Yelped Diner and this little gem popped up. It is your typical little Diner vibe, I loved the working train track hanging from the ceiling, what a cool idea. Pretty sure our lovely waitress was in the picture of the Vikings ball team :o) We both had omelets, home fries, toast, and coffee. Everything was delicious, the fried potatoes were the absolute perfect combination of creamy and crispy no Ketchup required Will be returning when around that way again.

Every thing you'd expect from a small town diner. No frills, just filling comfort food, quickly and nicely prepared and served by attentive and friendly staff. The two servers were efficient and cordial, while seeming to actually enjoy their work. "Angel" was my server and she checked on me regularly, made sure my coffee cup was full, and fit a bit of small talk in around her steady flow of other duties. All endearing, good, and positive traits that are usually absent at the chain restaurants. I'll definitely be back as they offer one of my favorite "fair food", offerings a fried pork tenderloin sandwich, often called a "Big-T" ! PS: I apologize for the meal picture! I just had to dig in before I remembered to take it. The other pictures are just fun pictures of a bit of the ambiance!

Love small town diners like this. Great place to grab breakfast or lunch with your family. Cheeseburgers, fish, tenderloin, and chicken options. French fries and onion rings, coleslaw, cottage cheese. Typical diner fare. They also have a full breakfast menu. They have interesting decorations to look at on the walls, lots of local photos and memorabilia. A cute toy train circling the ceiling- fun for kids! Our server was very friendly and service was prompt. It's also clean. Definitely recommend trying it out.

Food is good, service is even better. You can get in and out and on with your day very quickly. It's very basic menu, which is not a bad thing and has its own place.

Love this place. Admittedly I've only had the breakfast but the eggs are always cooked right, the bacon is perfect (I hate extra crispy bacon). Atmosphere is great, you feel like your grandma is making you bacon and eggs. Going to miss this place when we move.

I recently bought the book "Recipe's From Ohio's Must Places to Eat." The Cherry Street Diner has 3 recipes in the book (meat loaf, custard pie and golden brown salmon patties.)So, since this place has been mentioned in 2 books (the other being "Ohio's Must Places to Eat") and we were going to be in Ashville for the Viking Festival (highly recommended) we decided to try this place out.The place was pretty empty when we were arrived. Only 2 tables occupied and the waitress standing behind the cash register on the far end of the restaurant occupied with her cellphone. Most, if not all, of the empty tables were not cleaned. Our 4 year old daughter had chosen a table and my wife took out a hand wipe and cleaned off the table. That's when the waitress came up to us and said "That table was just cleaned." Um, no it wasn't. If it had been, there wouldn't be salt and pepper all over the table or that mystery food stain. The food we got was decent (not great, but not bad, but we're talking basic sandwiches here. Only so much one can do to a ham & cheese and BLT) and was served very quickly, so they got that going for them.Really got a feeling that the waitress wanted to be anywhere but there. Or maybe this is one of those places that uses the gimmick of unfriendly staff, which would explain all the "kitschy" signs near the kitchen basically telling the customer to "F### off" if they don't like things there.I'm sure 99% of their business comes from the locals who may be used to the unfriendly service (or maybe they're friendly only to locals) or maybe since there's such a lack of restaurants in Ashville, they feel they can get away with bare minimum customer service.I would've given this place at least 1 more star were it not for the service. So this out-of-towner will be eating somewhere else next year when we come back next year for the Viking Festival.

Good food, good service , plenty to eat reasonably priced, Mayberry atmosphere hometown feel, parking was a challenge but I understand a hateful neighbor has 6 vehicles taking up spots just to be a jerk, all the more reason to support their business,
