Cassano's Pizza & Subs

To start off with I really like Cassano's pizzaThis was the first time I've stopped at Cassanos in Urbana Ohio. I don't think it is as good as the Cassano's in Springfield Ohio and definitely not Indian lake Ohio. I know most pizza places try to maintain a similar taste with their pizzas throughout their chains but there are differences in many of the pizza establishments I have visited that are in the same chain. If you sign up for their pizza rewards coupon after so many stops you'll get a few dollars off on a pizza. But what I do like about Cassano's is their thin crust and it is slightly salty. The pizza I got in Urbana had the thin crust, but was not salted on the bottom like I remember. This is why I'm only giving it three stars. If it were like the one in Indian Lake and Springfield I would give it four stars. But it is still a better pizza than many. Their pepperoni and mushroom is excellent by the way but they are skimpy on the mushrooms you may have to ask for double mushrooms if you like mushrooms.

Friday nights are always a good meal. Good service and clean restaurant. Outdoor patio is a nice place in the summer.

Just lost our business. We had been a long term regular customer. We have had some issues in the past and have never ever complained. We understand that "things happen". However, tonight we picked up our order and one of the pizzas was just unacceptable. My husband overheard them talking in the back about it, but also heard them say to remake it. When they brought out the order to him, he asked "is this right?" They said, yes it is right. When he got home we figured out that they had made our large pizza without pepperoni and instead of remaking it, they just added pepperoni and ran it through the oven. It was not good. It had greasy half cooked pepperoni on it. I called to complain, the first thing they said to me was "we can remake it or give you a store credit ", I told him a store credit was fine. The man then put me on hold and came back and said "ok, we can give you an $8 store credit ". I said seriously ? He said " that is what the company is offering you". I said keep your $8, you just lost a customer. When I called, I was just looking to complain, I wasn't looking for a credit. Maybe just someone to apologize for the service we received and to let someone know that this happened. Instead they doubled down, and really made me mad. Anyway, we won't be ordering from them again.

I have ordered from Urbana many times and the last few times something was wrong. I'm usually not a complainer but they have left the cheese off my Big Cheese, they have put items on my pizza that I requested to remove. Today I ordered the same thing I always order a Small Big Cheese with no mushrooms. 45 minutes and $30 later they deliver a my order with no extra cheese. The purpose I order this so the toppings are held on the pizza, and for the price my order should be exact. When I call I'm told another 60 minutes for the remake. I say nevermind I'm not waiting another hour for something you messed up. They said they can give me a 25% discount on next order. As a former Cassanos manager this is extremely disappointing.

Love this pizza . This is a beautiful a tasty pie that has a great balance of sauce, cheese and toppings. I will buy it again and again.

I am giving your place 2 stars due to the pizza I received. I asked for "lightly done" , apparently that means, overbaked , baked so long that I couldn't bite through the double cheese. I purchased on March 1st. Included a tip, not sure why.As for the other part of my order, an Italian sub, I give it a 4. Major regrets for not driving to Springfield to get PapaJohn's. Previously it was my 2nd favorite.

Growing up on Cassano's pizza, I must say Urbana's pizzeria is not comparable to some of the other branches. I was very impressed with the customer service, it was epic & superb. The employees were very engaging, amiable & courteous. The restaurant was spotlessly clean. They are allowing customers to dine in currently, if you are looking for a place to enjoy a nice slice of pie. However, Urbana's branch is no match compared to Troy's pizzeria. I may be biased, as I am a Troy native, so take that with a grain of salt. Speaking of salt, the signature saltiness of Cassano's crust was both consistent and delightful at the Urbana campus. Ya know, some people think that the crust is too salty, but I say THOSE people are too salty! The pepperoni and banana pepper pizza we got was good. What I respect about Cassano's is that they let the toppings do the talking. Between you and me, there wasn't enough sauce. It doesn't stand out that much unless someone draws attention to it. Once you're in the know about the scarcity of sauce, you cannot untaste it. In conclusion, the customer service was the saving grace of this review. The pizza of Urbana's campus did not put respect on Cassano's name. The pie we enjoyed was 3 stars all day.

The pizza crust did not resemble the Cassanos I'm familiar with and have loved for decades. The dirtiest restroom I have ever seen. Disgusting.

Sucks. I love cassanos pizza but urbana cant get it right. Guy at the counter assured me he would put sauce on my pizzas. Im not really even asking for extra sauce just enough to tell its on there. Over 30 bucks for pizza and i asked for enough sauce to call it a pizza and they couldnt have put any less on them if they tried , really . Its always a problem at urbana store and asking nicely sure did No good at all. Living in the country its not like i can run it back in easily but i really felt pissed. My wife talked me down some but i swear the punk taking my order did it just to be an a/hole. It worked . No9 more of my $$$ will ever go to this place again . Seriously if you want business then give the customer what they ask and pay for. If you cant do that maybe a new staff is in order.
