Went here as a child and have so many fond memories of this place. It's a massive peice of my young teenage years and I'm so glad this place is still around! One day I will send my kids here to build their own memories.

Did the ozone night zipline at camp kern. Very cool! Not scary at all! The guides were awesome! They were full of tidbits of knowledge...did you know if you chomp on mint life savers (you have to be in a dark place), you can create sparks in your mouth??? We tried it, it's true!!!It is the YMCA's policy that guides can not accept tips, which is great because they aren't constantly pressuring you or hounding you throughout the event 'not to forget your tour guide' and 'don't forget to tip'. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it.

Camp Kern: Ozone Zipline Canopy Tour!!! This adventure was amazing! This activity was a great way to enjoy the outdoors and satisfy my thrill-seeking urges. My experience took place on a pleasant Fall morning in November. The leafs were at the peak of their Fall color spectrum and we were lucky enough to have a sunny 55-degree morning. I have always wanted to try zip lining and I am very thankful my first experience was there. The tour guides (Damien and Andrew) were safe, knowledgeable and fun! It was their awesome personalities and skillful guidance that made the experience unforgettable! We went on the River Tour (the middle of the three tour options) which included 9 zip lines and 7 skybridges. This was a great option which gave us plenty of thrill yet we still finished in under 3 hours. I would highly recommend adding this activity to your list on must-dos!

My sister-in-law signed us up for the Ozone Zipline Adventures Zombie Ziplining last weekend. Zombie Ziplining? Oh yeah! This is probably just a Halloween-time program. It was so well done! We met at an old ramshackle home down the hill from Camp Kern at 8:00p.m. It was already pitch black out. Our group of ten gathered in a dimly-lit back room where Dr. Know filled us in on the experiments gone awry up at the camp. Dr. Know drove us up to the camp but our bus broke down and was attacked by zombies! Luckily the military was nearby and soldiers shot the zombies and led us through the woods and across the lawn to a safer building. Of course, we lost our guide and an ambulance driver to zombies along the way. And I learned that I am a self-preservationist as I stayed close to the lead soldier and ran ahead while most of our group, including my family members, lagged behind. Every man for himself! The grounds at the camp are not very well lit at this time. So while you're carefully trying to watch your step, you know there are zombies lurking nearby. At the safe building we met our two ziplining guides and got into our gear and trekked out to the stairs to the first line. While the darkness lends to the atmosphere, I do wish some of the pathways and stairs had more lighting. We had two people in their 70s with us and some of the steps and pathways were completely dark. The actually ziplining consists of 5 lines and a few short bridges. You may or may not experience zombies between zips. The only lights on the course were from the headlamps on our guides' helmets. It was a great time to look up and appreciate thousands of stars sprinkled across the sky. And, you might even spot a zombie in the tree above you. Our guides were great. Really fun and friendly. I did not know what to expect when I agreed to zombie ziplining and was a bit skeptical that the experience would either be too frightening or too cheesy. It was neither. Camp Kern and Ozone Adventures really did a great job!And I do want to go back in the daylight and do the longer ziplining tour!

Mathew was absolutly amazing during the fossil trail. He has to stay back behind the group and slowly see us struggle and still had a blast teaching us about fossils. In my opinion he deserves a raise and he is amazing at his job! GO MATHEW

The food was bad there was a hair in the spaghetti and the spaghetti was cold. Also the things you do there you can easily do at home. Don't send your kids to camp kern.

We went on our first Zipline adventure a couple weeks ago, and had the time of our lives! Flying through the treetops over the wilderness was amazing! The guides made us feel very safe and helped us overcome our initial fears. Physically, it was very easy. We didn't have to pull ourselves up, or anything. Just sit and fly! We will be back! Thanks Camp Kern!
