California Tri Tip

I believe that this food truck is one of only two eateries in the Greater Cincinnati area to specialize in tri-tip beef - Tafts in OTR being the other - but sadly I dont think they represent this cut of meat that is wildly popular on the west coat very wellThe truck has a grill built in on the left side as you face the ordering window, and you can see the meat being grilled while you wait in line to place you order. The finished meat is sliced to order on a standard deli meat rotary slicer, and goes from the slicer to your sandwich, nachos, taco, etc. In theory, this is all good, but the meat is cooked to a well done, which means it is very dry, and the slicing process seems to produce pieces that are more like shreds than actual slices of beef. To make matters worse, the beef - tho tender - isnt very flavorfulThe bun it is presented on is good quality, but it is stated that it is a garlic buttered bun and I didnt taste any garlic whatsoever on mine. More like a bun brushed with melted margarine.The mild catsup-y bbq sauce that is included on the side helps with the moisture issue but it also overwhelms the minimal flavor of beef on the sandwich. The potato chips also included with the sandwich help the value proposition a bit - many food trucks charge extra for sides, even chips - but these are straight from a Kroger bag, nothing special, just fillerService is on the slow side. Expect to wait 2-3 minutes per person ahead of you. I cant really fault them for this, as this isnt all being prepared in advance - they are slicing meat to order, so at least it is fairly freshly cooked.Overall - not a good value and not a meal I would go out of my way for to get

Finally had a day that I could try this food truck! So glad bc it did not disappoint! Tri tip is a sirloin steak that is popular on the west coast, if you're saying "what's Tri tip?"I ordered the sandwich, which came with a side of chips and drink. Cost $10. Now I've had Tri tip before so I know how flavorful it would be, but man this flavor was spot on!! I don't even know how to truly describe how amazing it tastes except that all the spices meshed perfectly. The Tri tip was super tender and not dry. It came with a side of bbq but not sure why you would need it!!Overall so glad I finally got a chance to try and will recommend to others!!!

This food truck was in our parking lot at work today. I got the steak sandwich. While the meat was better quality than a place like Penn Station the whole package wasn't as good as a place like Penn Station. I'll explain.The meat was good quality Tri-Tip sure. But, it was super salty, cooked well done, dumped in a holding pan, then sliced with a deli slicer. My steak sandwich was cold. Not sure that's how it's supposed to be or not but it's not as good as a hot cheese steak.You get Grocery Store potato chips instead of fresh cut fries.The "toasted bun" is a Grocery Store hamburger bun that may or may not be toasted with a small stripe of garlic butter/margarine brushed on the inside.I would never seek this place out. But it showed up in the parking lot and it was paid for by the job so what the hell. Oh almost forgot they included some store bought potato salad too. Completely forgettable. Just like everything else was.

food was not very clean. overpriced for the meat in my mouth. thought I would get three tips in my mouth according to the name, only got one doe :(

Went to the St Joe festival in Cold spring on 8/2 and tried the steak sandwich.The Steak was very dry and the amount of chips and sauce on the side did not help make up for it.At $10 a sandwich I would expect better quality and quantity.

There can only be one.Interesting to visit a food truck that only had one item, I stood around waiting for the rest of the menu to be unveiled for a few moments. Boy was I wrong to think that I needed more options.The item is a steak sandwich served with potato chips, homemade BBQ sauce, and optional (but delicious) jalapenos.The bread is traditional hamburger buns buttered with garlic butter. The meat is generously portioned, tender, flavorful, and perfect. If you like meat, and you like delicious things, this is the food truck for you.

Fantastic steak sandwich. Currently out front of the Wooden Cask Brewery. Glad I stopped! Great food and service. Super price includes chips and drink, and ok to delay the drink till after the brews! What more could you ask for! The smoke and aroma around the truck was awesome. I had no doubt it was going to be great, and was not disappointed. If you see this truck anywhere grab a tri tip sandwich! Awesome!!

Lindsey was great! They team had fantastic energy and did a great job getting to food out. The tacos were AMAZING and I cannot wait to have it again soon!

This place has the best seasoned steak sandwich that I've ever had the pleasure of eating. This place needs to be chain restaurant. It is absolutely incredible. The service is top tier. Seriously top tier. After reading through negative reviews of this place, I lost a bit of faith in humanity. This place has the best product and best service of any food truck, hands down.

My favorite cut of beef! Problem is, I have never been able to find them on the right day lol. My kid raves, as do friends they are terrific! Have to try harder it seems.
