Cakes 4 All

Drove a friend to a hair appointment a few shops down, stopped by Cakes for All on our way home. Absolutely by far the best brownie I've ever eaten! I'm both disappointed & relieved I didn't by more. I really wish I would have bought several more, but thankful I didn't, because I would have eaten every single one of them in 1 sitting. I definitely drive to Fairborn to visit their cake shop again.

Great cakes and personal service! I was very pleased with my daughter's 8th Birthday cake that was ordered on short notice... a Minecraft cake that she was over the moon about, complete with Minecraft toys that I brought added to it. it was fantastic. Two weeks later I got a graduation cake for my son that had special needs... it was VERY SPECIAL that he graduated against all odds... the BHS logo was ON POINT, and they stayed open past closing so we could get there to pick it up.

Decent little bakery. I bought a cake for a baby shower and it was pretty good. They were going to put plastic puppies on the cake for decoration, but then ended up "drawing" them on themselves....very cute. I don't think that they actually bake the cakes there though. Either way, it was a decent price and the owner opened up a little early so that I could get my cake on time.

A friend bought me a couple of cupcakes from here last week; lemon and red velvet. Both were very good and at $2 each, cheaper than those from other area cupcake shops. Today, I stopped in to get a cupcake; pretty early in the business day so not much in the case. I asked if they had any cupcakes, which they did, so asked for a white regular sized cupcake...the others I had were the jumbo size. The smaller ones are only 75 cents, so ended up with 2 and they are really good. When in Fairborn and needed a sugar boost, head here.

I used a Groupon that was outdated. So I only expected the price that I paid $18 instead of the $36 value, but I needed a dessert for my mom's birthday so cupcakes were the thing to order. After showing my Groupon, a woman that worked there tried to give me all kinds of reasons why I couldn't use it - very rude. However, another woman came over and I placed my order, for pickup in 2 days. On the appointed day, I returned to the shop about 10 minutes before they were to close, based on the posted signs on the door. However, they had closed early that day. No dessert for my mom's birthday dinner that evening!! I had to scramble to find another place to pick up a dessert in it's place, not to mention that I now had to spend another $20+ that I hadn't expected. The following day, I picked up the cupcakes, told them about trying to pick up the previous day, and that the shop was closed. Response? No apologies, just "you said you'd pick them up around 4:00p.m., so we left early when you weren't here at 4:00." The cupcakes were dry and not worth the $2.50 each that I paid. So disappointing! I wouldn't go back if they gave me the inventory free!!

We bought 96 red velvet cupcakes from this bakery. Joe and his wife were really helpful. The wedding and reception were in Columbus. It was for our daughter, Amy and her fiancee's wedding. We were con-cerned about the cupcakes knocking up against each other and the icing getting messed up. Well, we arrived on the morning of Oct. 19thto pick them up. They were frozen and were in a big box with plasticblack dividers. The cupcakes did not touch each other. Joe was so proud of how he figured a new way to pack them. We arrived in Columbus about 1 hour 15 minutes later. We put the cupcakes in the big industrial size refrigerator at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary. The cupcakes were served Sat. late afternoon at the reception. They tastedso delicious. We were all very happy with them. My husband and I feel that this hometown business went way out of their way to help and please us. They even opened up early so we could pick them up.We will do business with Cakes for All Occasions again in the future. Thanks!

During a work break my coworker and I walked in for an afternoon pick me up and were greeted warmly by the employees with recommendations. We got a slice of spice cake and some chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing. They were so delicious! They are amazingly priced for confections in the area. I'd highly recommend stopping in for a treat whenever! Next on my list is to have them make a birthday cake for my husband.

This past week I went by this mom and pop type place and decided to give it a try. I bought a chocolate fudge and red velvet cake jumbo cupcake. The portions were very generous for the price. There was a lot of cake and lots of icing-- perhaps a bit too much icing. Both cupcakes were ok, but not fantastic. The cake part of both cupcakes was a bit dry and the icing seemed very dense. The fudge cupcake was filled with fudge icing inside and on the outside. The chocolate flavor was very nice on this one and the presentation was appealing . The red velvet cupcake had a betty crocker like white icing on top which contrasted well with the red cake below. In the end, although ok, I was hoping for much more. My thought was that a place that specializes in cake would offer an experience unlike one that could be acquired at the gourmet cake grocery store counter. The problem, I think, is that , at least when it comes to the cupcakes I ordered, there is nothing that stands out about them. Perhaps some special flavor in the batter would have made a huge difference, or maybe introducing some syrup in the cake would have made them more moist. Finally, All the icing on top of the cupcakes made it look like they were trying to make up for the batter issues. While in the store, I did get to see some of the big cake designs they offer and I guess that is where this store shines, because they had some nice works of arts showing on the counter. However, if the cake batter is the same as the cupcakes I may still buy one for the sake of the design, but if I am only concerned about flavor then I may go somewhere else for the same experience at lower price. In their defense, they do have a lot more cupcake flavors which are perhaps much better. Ultimately, both cupcakes were just an ingredient or two away from being exceptional, but as of right now they're just average.
