Dale H. "I continued my taco truck trek and ventured to Taco House on Fields-Ertel Road. It's on the south side of the road and there's plenty of parking. Went with my hubby, and we both enjoyed our lunch :). I ordered two shrimp tacos, plus a chicken tamale. Hubby also ordered two tacos, but went with one shrimp and one carne asada (steak), and also got a tamale. They don't have chips, but I ordered a side of frijoles anyway since we were headed home and had chips at home. Total was $22. They have tables and chairs to dine at, and they have a semi-enclosed area with a condiment bar. Our tacos came with the corn tortillas topped with the protein. We used to condiment bar to add sliced radishes, chopped white onion, and cilantro. There also were lime wedges, chopped tomato, jalapeños, shredded cheese, and small containers of red and green salsa. There was also a creamy white taco sauce in a squeeze bottle that my husband used. Maybe mayo based? We both thoroughly enjoyed our tacos and tamales! The tamales' masa had just the right denseness. We both topped ours with the green chile salsa. Perfect together. Overall, a satisfying, delicious lunch."

Brian S. "Happened upon this small food truck while out running errands. I decided to try the daily special which was a small chicken quesadilla and a drink for $9. While waiting for my food to be prepared, I noticed that the truck was very clean. Looked almost new. I was walking, so it was about 20 minutes before I actually ate my food. It travelled ok, but would likely be better with a shorter gap between ordering and eating. The quesadilla was a nice size. Good amount of chicken filling. I would have preferred a little more kick and maybe some fresh peppers. Maybe there was a hotter salsa option. I did not ask but will when I return. It came with a side of salsa verde and sour cream. Overall I'd say decent value. I'm full but not stuffed after eating this. If I'm in the area, I would go back."

Nikki J. "I had to check our Gomez as it was high on the food list and everyone mentions the turtles. It wasn't too busy when I arrived, so I had time to decide what kind of fillings I wanted. I did order a turtle, of course, with carnitas and once of the spicy sauces. It's a definitely a fast food vibe, where you order at the counter and seat yourself with no frills in between. I found a table while I waited. Once I got my order and dug in, man. It was delicious and very filling. I only ate half of it, so once I was ready to go I did have to go back to the counter to get a to go box."

Peter R. "Caught this orange food truck out of the corner of my eye and naturally I whipped a U'y to scope it out. Aha, taco truck! Score! What I stumbled upon was a one man show taco truck. A lot of menu items were sold out by the time I got there so I kinda had to settle for 2nd choice items. I ended up with a pastor taco and a couple Campechano's. For taking orders and cooking at the same time I was impressed, he didn't leave people standing around but kept food coming out. At first glance, the tacos took me back to my childhood when my mom would take me to Mexico and we would stop at the first taco cart we saw. Yes, cart not truck. Small simple tacos with just cilantro and onion. These were the gone in two or three bite tacos I remember that were so addicting that they're ordered one at a time as if it were a sampling menu. I could imagine this place on a dirt road in Tijuana bustling with groups of people shouting "Otro más!" While small, I do think the price is fair considering what you'd pay anywhere else and these were not skimpy. The pastor tacos were good, not dry as I find at most places. The campechano tacos had chorizo and steak. The steak was noticeably marinated and wasn't just chopped up bits of steak like you find at every Mexican restaurant you find around here. I still can't tell if the tortillas were hand made or bought. Either way, they were really good. They weren't bland and had a fresh masa taste to them. They also held up well and didn't fall apart after the first bite. The tomatillo sauce was great. Not overly salty and added freshness. IMO, tomatillo should complement not steal or ruin the show and this did just that. I may or may not be spoiled from my childhood in LA and ventures to Mexico so I can be a tough critic on tacos, but I also have a soft spot for nostalgia. I think anywhere else I might give this a three, but for this region, four stars easily. The tortillas were so good. The meat wasn't just a filler protein. Shockingly the tomatillo sauce wasn't over salted like most places. Overall, everything I had was good and stood out ingredient wise. I don't think it would crack any of top spots but this is so much better than what I am used to around here. Come hungry, come early, and don't go far. This is taco's but taco cart style, a la carte."

Most Mexican restaurants have it for free. They did not even have it for sell. The food was ok, nothing special. The food does come out fast and is reasonably priced. They do have ice cream and cakes that looked pretty good, but we did not get any of those. They also have a drink machine that has three flavors of drink behind the counter. I tried the white one and it was decent. I saw a picture of the Mangolada and I knew I had to have one. I thought it would be a wave of frozen sweet deliciousness. However, it was far from that. I was very salty. It was edible, but definitely not what I expected. Maybe next time I will check out their bakery goods."

The interior is very nice, with a high ceiling and tasteful decor. The booths and tables are solid and spacious. Everything was spotlessly clean.I was promptly seated and served chips and salsa. The salsa was thinner than I prefer but made up for it with excellent flavor and a bit of heat.I ordered Huevos Rancheros from the lunch menu, and it was delicious. Refried beans has a nice texture and really good flavor. Portion size was very generous, especially for a lunch menu item.Service was friendly and efficient. The dinner menu featured some unique specialties. There were many seafood entrees, including one I would like to try called Wero. It featured grilled tilapia, scallops, shrimp, and pico. I'll try that for sure on my next visit. There are also burritos and enchiladas with unique ingredients. Many vegetarian options too.Prices are very reasonable."

Ben N. "Can't remember the last time I authored a "First to Review" Yelp review, but it seems warranted here. (I'm sure the Yelp Powers That Be will correct me if I'm wrong.)Stumbling onto this fine taqueria was happenstance for us: We drove from Mt. Lookout one Sunday to get pupusas at the Salvadoran place about a mile south of here, but the restaurant was packed, and it looked like only one harried server was on duty. No thanks. We pulled up Yelp and found the well-reviewed "Taqueria El Monarca" and proceeded north.Finding El Monarca wasn't that easy, mainly because the listed address on Princeton Pike has a sign that spells out "Don Chago" in prominent lettering and depicts a stern-looking hombre. And shockingly, once inside we discovered that the restaurant's menus say "Taqueria Don Chago," too. Further, "Taqueria Don Chago" will appear on your check. As it turns out, this taqueria has been named Taqueria Don Chago for more than a year, but the last several Yelp reviewers were apparently oblivous to this name (and ownership?) change. (Fair mistake, perhaps: A sign over the bar still says "El Monarca.")Went with tacos: al pastor, barbacoa, and lengua. (It's always a plus to see tongue on a menu around here!). The prices seemed a bit high for the location--$4.50 for the lengua--but the kitchen is very generous with the meat. Very good, although the lengua could have been a little more tender. The menu generally appears to be seriously Mexican, with things like menudo, but then it also features some Tex-Mex (fajitas) and Americanized (a Chipotle-like bowl), too. There's something for everyone here, most likely.Staff could not have been more friendly--they were in the top echelon on that score.Decor in this rather large strip-center taqueria is industrial style: concrete floors, exposed ductwork, high ceilings."

They have a rather large dining area with televisions placed around it. You will find a little photo op here with their neon lighted wings. The place was really clean and had a hip cafeteria like vibe,They serve burritos, tortas, quesadillas, cemitas, and of course tacos. For the littles they have cheese burgers chicken fingers, hot dogs, and cheese quesadillas. I highly recommend getting one of their fruit waters. I got a Lemon with cucumber and it was so delicious. mmmmm. They also have pineapple, melon, strawberry, and horchata,I ordered a birria taco and a chorizo burrito. It took them about 6 minutes toi have my food ready it was hot it was hot and fresh. It tasted good but I had a couple of issues with it. First, it did not come with any sauces/salsa. There may have been some available but I did not see them. I may have had to purchase them, but I am not sure. Either way, they should be included. My second issue was that even though my burrito was huge, it only had a small amount of chorizo. There was so little chorizo that I thought I had gotten the wrong burrito. As I mentioned, the food was good, but could have been a bit better. This is a decent option for some authentic Mexican food and I recommend checking this place out if you get the chance."
