"I'm going to start this review by saying I'm not from around here. I hail from Northeast Ohio, where apple picking is a quintessential fall activity that takes place in late September through October. So imagine my disappointment when last October I went hunting for an apple orchard in the greater Cincinnati area only to discover every single one had sold out of u-pick apples by the end of the first weekend of the month. Um, what?!So this year I was determined to get my apple picking in, even if that meant going in the second week of September. Which I did, right here at Monnin Fruit Farm. This place is out in the country as it should be and has a great variety of apples to choose from. When we went, the honey crisp were already nearly gone, but they'd just opened up the winesap rows. We got some of everything, from Fuji to golden delicious to macintosh. You buy by the half bushel or the bushel; prices aren't posted but this year the half bushel is $20. Cash or check only!Be sure to check out the store as well. On our way out we grabbed a dozen free range eggs, some apple butter and a bag of toffee. They've also got local milk, meat products and other produce. Monnin gets high marks for 1) actually having apples, 2) posting u-pick information on Facebook, 3) their awesome store and 4) knowledgeable staff. Minus one star for a confusing map/flag system for identifying apple varieties, and only two sizes for buying apples. Didn't really need a whole half bushel but you can bet I filled that bag! Would be nice to pay by weight or have a smaller size. Overall, this place scratched my apple-picking itch. Great way to kick off fall. Now, who's ready for apple pie?"
"If you're roadtripping along I-70, this is cute place to pit-stop on the Indiana-Ohio border for a seasonal treat or--better--yet--a donut. There are also lots of gifts that scream "country store". We stopped by during the month of September and happily left with a peanut-covered caramel apple. Better than something from the gas station!"
"Apple picking was a much different experience, than what we experienced a few years ago at the pumpkin patch. Employees were friendly and engaging people. Donuts were sold out when we arrived. Instead we tried the apple fritter. Chunks of apple, cinnamon swirled, and sweet describes the fritter. House made apple pies and large cookies were also available. Various other items are for sale in their store. Apple picking was a pleasant experience. A hay ride took us to the apple orchard. Apples may be picked by the half bushel or peck. For apples that are higher up, apple pickers are available. An attendant is there to assist and explain when need be. Four varieties of Apple were available during our visit. Employee gave us additional information about the farm, when asked. Several animals are on the farm. My daughter made friends with two goats and a donkey. It may have been a burrow."
"Kopp smoked turkeys are hands down incredible! We had great experiences both last year and this year. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the food. We will be loyal customers immediately the future for sure!"
"YaY for being in the area and randomly stopping by this location. They had so many things that had been out of stock at closer stores! There were some great clearance deals such as an entire wicker patio set that was originally $400 for $99. I found my favorite pizza, the Buffalo Mac and Cheese with $2 off so I was able to stock up! Employees were helpful and the store was clean and organized. Parking lot is a little weird to navigate so be careful. I love Aldi for some many things. People think it is the dollar store of grocery stores, but it is far from it! They have great produce, specialty cheeses, heck yesterday I got truffle oil!!! You can honestly accomplish most of your grocery shopping here and for much less without sacrificing quality. Dont forget to bring a quarter for the cart and your reusable bags or totes as they do not have bags."
"This place is a neighborhood staple and I'm so thankful that it's here in Ludlow! We just got our Christmas tree from Reeves and get flowers there in the spring as well as pumpkins in the fall. :-)They basically stock all things seasonal and nostalgic. But beyond that they also have really good food items inside of their shop. The salad dressing we got has been one of our favorites in a long time. They have maple syrup and tons of fruit and lots of candy especially right now :-) I like to stop by here every week or so to just see what's going on and all of the staff are really nice people."
"We love this place! Lots of good sandwiches and pizza. You can also pick up deserts and snacks to go with it at the store. The only sandwich I have to recommend not getting was the Mushroom Steak. All the others we have tried have been great! The one request I have is to please add the full size chips and all the deserts to the online ordering portal so that we can put it in with our order."
"This is a new Aldi in Troy. It's fairly large (compared to other ALDIs) and is run very similar.Bags have to be purchased. A cart costs 25 cents but you get it back when you return the cart.Prices are good to great but the selection is limited. I bought scallops, asparagus, broccoli & garlic. With these prices, I know I'll be back."
"Great hosts for our middle school fall community event. The staff was friendly and helpful. The value was good for food, hayrides and corn maze. There was plenty of space to hang out and have fun. They took great care of our kids, families and staff. We'll be back!"
"Brand new ALDI! Staff is friendly and store is massive! The cashiers get through the lines so quickly! Very impressed by the cleanliness & the employees clearly work hard to maintain their beautiful new store :)"
"Great choice for fresh, local produce if you're in the area!! In addition to all the usual seasonal favorites (corn, tomatoes, peppers, beans, melons, etc...) they also have a nice variety of homemade pies, fresh eggs every once in a while, and hanging plants. They've got later hours than Springfield's downtown farmer's market, which is great for non-early birds like me, but go early to get the best selection!!"

Not cheap, but good flavorful locally grown apples and produce. Good assortment of apples including varieties not available at grocery stores. Pumpkins and cabbage looked great and to be from the field.

Worth checking out! I have driven by several times and always wanted to stop in. So....I stopped in with my sister and nephew. Stopping in for a visit in September is the perfect time, there were Pumpkins and Mums, etc. The three of us decided to do the corn maze, which was so much fun. Today's Harvest makes it fun, there is a game within the maze. On our way out we decided to try there apple cider and let me just say, Yum! The apple cider doughnut is soooooo goooood! There is also Carmel apples, Carmel popcorn, and apple cider slushy. There is also a small selection of home decor with the country feel to it. I believe there is also some sort of floral design section. Stop in and check it out, try some cider........Have Fun!

I was on the search for an apple orchard where I could pick my own apples and one that had a variety of apples. Irons Fruit Farm was the place!Just about 40 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, it makes for a half day experience. The farm has apple picking, a shop with baked and canned goods (as well as pre-picked apples), there's a hay ride out to the orchard, there are a few animals (emu, sheep, pony??), there are several picnic tables to enjoy treats at, there's a play set as well for the kids. I didn't come for pumpkins, but there's also a pumpkin patch that is currently open and a seemingly extensive corn maze.I filled a peck bag for $15 and got half a dozen of the apple cider donuts for $5. Overall, I thought it was worth it. The donuts were delicious as were the fresh apples. Options for apples were golden delicious, cortland (the two I preferred), red delicious, mcIntosh, liberty, and the honeycrisp were all picked over.Great experience, pretty friendly staff. Will be back next year!

This place sells the best turkey rolls. You can buy them fresh or frozen. We started cooking them for Thanksgiving and have never switched back to a full turkey. it is basically a turkey roast of white meat and we have a small family so we have enough left over to make a family sized turkey pot pie the next week. Call this place! Delicious

I recently found this store. I've been shopping at the Kroger just down the street on Dorothy Lane. This Aldi is small, but clean and consistently stocked. Now, I go here first before I go to Kroger. I only go to Kroger if there is anything else I need, such as eggs. The meats & fresh veggies have been very good here, the canned items are mostly well priced, and the staff is friendly & always helpful. Ya never know what you might find -- one time I bought fresh chicken legs for 50 cents per pound -- nothing at all wrong with them! Can't beat that anywhere else. I wish they had more manager's specials though. :)

I love the sandwiches here. Really great taste, plenty big, and gracious customer service. The one sandwich I wasn't crazy about was their version of philly cheesesteak. The taste was fine, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't a philly cheesesteak. The store also sells some chips, drinks, sweets, and desserts. I like the food and the vibe here.

The new Aldi in Troy is open!I was so surprised to see Troy get this store. I've always been a fan of the shopping experience and offerings. This Aldi is conveniently located next to the highway and has its own parking lots full of free spaces to park. You won't be disappointed with the available goods to purchase. They have all the usual things you'd want: produce, frozen food, baked goods, chips, cookies, crackers, meats, canned goods, etc. they also have a selection of wines and home decor items to purchase. The aisles are a good size and the place is bright and well lit. I think this store will get a lot of business and it's so great to see a new option available in the area. I also noticed this location offers pick up services for groceries.

"When I was looking for Fall activities for us to do, I came across Peifer Orchards and knew this was being added to the to-do list. I grabbed my husband and our girls, dressed them in cute gingham dresses and on our way, we went to the orchard. Peifer Orchards is located in Yellow Springs, OH. There is plenty to do in Yellow Springs. What I loved about the orchard is when we arrived, it immediately gave us all the Fall and southern vibes. Pumpkins, a cute country store, gravel road, and an experience I will never forget. There is a long walk to the orchard but it was great family time walking and talking. It was hilarious to listen to our little ones talk about apples and what they thought the orchard would look like. We finally got to the end of two-lane gravel path, and there stands acres of apple trees. WOW! The girls and I were in awe. None of us had ever seen an orchard in real life and boy were we amazed. It was a field of green trees with the cutest apples hanging off of them. Some of them even looked like Christmas trees. This was such a picturesque backdrop! They have a few different apple varieties as well as apple colors. My kids enjoyed apple picking to the core! They immediately ran down the rows and started picking apples off the trees. We had our buckets and were ready to fill them with delicious, crisp apples. We all picked a few apples and tossed them in the buckets. The kids did more than their fair share of picking, but they enjoyed themselves and that's all that matters! I'm not sure that we were supposed to be eating the apples while picking, but my youngest, sweet Robyn, did not waste any time indulging. Let's just say she snagged the best apples for her afternoon snack. LOL! Once our buckets were full, which did not take long we headed back down the gravel road to head back. We could not leave without heading inside of the country store. They have food, plants, and all things Fall. We even tried their Apple Cider Slush which was amazing and bought some Amish baked goods! Needless to say, our time at Peifer Orchards was nothing short of amazing. The staff was also very nice and they had a food truck on site to purchase food from. Great idea!"
"While it looks like an old wooden, stand; it really is an oasis of beauty - variety upon variety of plants and flowers. Literally very kind of outdoor treasure to fit your needs - sunny or shade, lots of water or not so much. The ladies operating the store are very kind and knowledgable. I wish I lived a little closer and had more hooks to hang these hanging baskets of gorgeous flowers. The place smelled absolutely delightful as well. The colors of the plants will bright up even the most gloomiest of days. Their prices are very reasonable. No store will beat them. I bought a Tradescantia zebrina plant for $20!! They have some of the largest ferns I have ever seen in my life - also $28 or so. You will not be disappointed."
"A privately owned local market - heck yeah. We stopped in to check it out on our weekly way home from the Hamilton area back to Eaton. I sorely wish it was in my area, but we'll be making this a regular stop for grocery needs. It's a true supermarket, with fresh meat, vegetables, deli counter, frozen foods, canned/packaged goods, and more. Noticed lots of local/regional brands. We bought a frozen cake from a small Michigan company that I'd never heard of before, but apparently has been around since the 40s. And it was good! If shopping small is on your list, this is definitely your place. We came in the late morning of Super Bowl Sunday and found out there had been a raffle earlier for some Cincinnati Bengals gear. They had a cute Bengals display to cheer on the team. The store is clean and well organized, staff members were helpful, checkout was easy, and I will definitely return to scope out that garden center I'm hearing about!"
"These sunflower pics were taken yesterday . Its a smallish field. free and free parking. please don't be a jerk and pick the flowers ... if you want pick some there are places that you can pay and pick what you want .. when it's free respect their property. There is a wooden cart with steps to get a higher view . . and a path in the middle.i'd drover around half the day to find a sunflower field and happy i finally found one."
"I have been going there for years. The service is excellent. The produce is very good"
"Teeny tiny little mom and pop shop located at Findlay Market. Growing up my neighbors were farmers and I remember pickin' beans and snapping them with my neighbor on her front porch when I was probably about four years old. That is what this place reminds me of. Super local, farm fresh produce picked right out of the ground. Although, their groceries are the bomb, my favorite thing here has to be the Pink Grapefruit Sorbet from Madisono's. Holy mother of gawwwd! WOW! If you love that tart rich ripe flavor this is superb! Nada uses it to make margaritas, and I totally stole the idea. Get a pint of this stuff add some agave nectar, lime juice, tequila pour it in a salted/sugar rimmed glass and your friends with call you martha effing stuart. Trust."
"If you only read one line of this review, let it be this: McGlasson Farms is cash only!! Plan ahead - and make sure to have at least $20 on hand per person in your party (for produce and other market goodies)U-Pick Farms are the epitome of autumn for me ... and how cool that this NKY destination offers both apples AND pumpkins!! We visited in early September to take a look at their apple selection, and we brought our dog along for the trip. We had a lot of fun wandering through the orchard - and would highly recommend this as a fun date or family-friendly activity. The location is also great - just a bit further than CVG. As far as being cash/check only ... it's certainly inconvenient, but a visit is still totally worth it if you plan ahead! Shame on us for not double checking before driving all the way out here ... we had to hit up an ATM at a nearby UDF after realizing our blunder. One bag of U-Pick apples is $25, which seems reasonable given that you're also paying for the experience. We decided to purchase some of their homemade maple syrup as well - and my fiancé and I both agreed that it's some of the best we've ever had. We're planning to return in a few weeks to pick a pumpkin!"
"This is a real hidden gem. They have strawberry picking, fresh melons, fresh corn and vegetables, friendly staff and more. I love the giant dill pickles and honey sticks for sale. Beyond the fresh stuff, their canned items like marinades and jams are amazing also. I highly recommend if in the area!"
"This space on the exterior section of Findlay Market offers fresh and local food items. Among other things, I've found CinSoy, the local brand of tofu and soy-based sauces and such, in abundance. They do have some vegetables even when the regular farmer's market isn't in season, and it's also a good place to search out local snack brands. Did you know that Hen of the Woods chips come in white cheddar jalapeño? I didn't, but I couldn't leave without a bag.The place is as pricey as one might expect, and is likely to serve only as a source of these niche food items rather than a staple, but as such, it is successful."
"Great prices. Bought some meat, cheese, vegetables, chips and cake. You have to use veggies really fast .. the veggies and fruit go bad in days. Keep a quarter in your car for the cart. Bring in your own plastic bags or boxes."
"I love coming here to buy my produce while I'm shopping at Findlay Market. The employees are quick and helpful and the prices are really great. I tend to hi-jack one of the employees and slowly make my way from one end of the tables to the other just picking up bunches of everything and handing it to the employee. They package each thing up and throw them in a pile. Then at the end they price it out and I give them the cash. I spend about $20 - $30 every few weeks or so stocking up with their produce that is not only good quality, but cheap. I will get everything I need in one place and take it all home! They are at the market most weeks Friday through Sunday so go and stock up!"
"Second generation family owned farm market and so much more than melons! If you read their history that's what started it all, but they've grown and expanded to provide a wonderful shopping experience for fresh, natural, local produce of all kinds, along with jellies, pickles, butter, cheese, honey, maple syrup, baked goods and more!Dazzling array of flowers to beautify your home gardens plus vegetable starter plants galore. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and cheerful and you'll feel like part of the family.Their open season is pretty long, from mid March right up to Thanksgiving. Make it a point to stop here, you'll be glad you did."
"A true area "institution," with something for everyone looking for farm-fresh produce, along with limited cheese and meats. They have wonderful events for young and old throughout the warmer months into the fall, and they're FAMOUS for their strawberries. I made the trip over there a few weeks ago, after years of not shopping there (moved out of the area) and found many wonderful gifts for an "Ohio made" gift basket I was putting together. I'm not too big into the "country-style" decor so many people in this area seem to love, but if you are, here's a great (though, IMO, somewhat overpriced) place to stock up!! If you have kids, be sure to make the trip for their fall attractions. Great fruits and veggies in season as well. Definitely worth a visit, if you're in the area!!"
"With over 100 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, you are sure to find one you love. They always have the latest seasonal, organic produce. We bout 3 plants and have enjoyed watching them grow. Beef Steak Tomato is my favorite. They have herbs, blueberries, green beans, corn, and so much more. It's a fun experience to take a little one to see where food really comes from. The owners are hard workers who have so much to offer. They always have delicious and fresh produce during the season. Get you some"
"I love having Pipkin's nearby!! It's great to be able to pick up a few needed fruits and veggies quickly. I am always happy with the selection and freshness! Plus, they have much more than fruits & veggies! They have breads, staples, local baked goods, and dairy items. You can even find local meats! During the summer, I enjoy browsing in the garden area. I always buy my herb plants here, and I like to look at all the wonderful pottery! In the fall, near the end of the growing season they have good sales too!!"
"It's a very nicely redecorated barn that houses a retail farm store. The quality of the produce and products is top notch. You can find flawless vegetables and fruits in their season. I subtract two stars because the pricing is nosebleed territory - high - everything tends to be at least 25% more expensive than almost any other local farmstand. Probably because you Lebanon normies can easily find the place on Rt 42 a mile north of walmart - most farmstands with better prices take some driving on back roads. The non produce items for sale are very expensive. Basically this store is impractical to provide routine household grocery needs unless you are in the upper 20% of earners. Small kits for things like bean soups are exorbitant. So like if I want a nice tomato, at their $4+/lb pricing (currently) I will buy exactly one. Recently I bought one tomato, one medium cucumber and one zucchini - $7 or so total."
"Great little produce market and deli! Like Karina wrote in her review, the selection and prices are excellent! I purchased red potatoes and strawberries, as well as turkey for sandwiches and chicken salad from the deli. The chicken salad is homemade and is a little sweet for me, so I'll probably try something else from the salad selection next time. The place is super clean and neat and the employees were very friendly and helpful."
