Anima K. "Good service, and a nice selection of sugar-free chocolates and hard candy, which is important when you have diabetic relatives with a sweet tooth. They had a good selection of pre-packaged candy as well ranging in quality from 'penny' candy to more luxury-grade chocolates. It seemed that anything sold by weight they were willing to sell even by 1/4-lb, which some shops are unwilling to do. I felt the prices were quite reasonable."

Heather L. "This is just the most adorable shop in the heart of downtown Old Milford. Another gem to this community. There are nice tables out front and plenty of free parking nearby. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They have everything here from small gifts, to bags of coffee, every candy on earth, fudge, macarons, and even cards! I tried some fudge, got a cute mothers day gift, snagged one of their last St Pattys Day hot chocolate bombs, and tried the macarons. Everything was great and I know the gift will be loved. As it was off season, they did not have chocolate strawberries readily available, but if you call ahead they will make them by request! I cannot wait to come back and try those among other things!"

Ron A. "I live by the simple (and tubby) motto that a day without chocolate is a day without sunshine. I love chocolate. I love chocolate like crackheads love crack. If I were Jesus I would have turned water into chocolate not wine. If I could live anywhere it would be Switzerland, where I would live on the mountainside and dine on chocolate morning, noon, and night. Fortunately, Cincinnati is a veritable Switzerland if only for one reason: Chocolats Latour.Simply put, Chocolats Latour is the best chocolate in Cincinnati (maybe the world). Their chocolate makes Hershey's bars taste like molded dirt and Dove bars taste like prison food. I'm not sure if it's because they handcraft all their creations, use local ingredients and fair trade chocolate, or the owner is the Walter White of chocolate chemistry, but I'd venture to say that I've never had better chocolate anywhere. And the varieties are absolutely inspiring: Black Walnut & Spice Berry, Rose & Sumac, Chili & Carmelized Pecans, Coffee & Cocoa NIbs, and my all time favorite Chocolats Latour bar, the Sea Salt & Almond! All of the dark chocolate bars are made without milk or butter which means those with dietary restrictions can get in on the fun!Look for Chocolats Latour at Findlay Market on the weekends or various shops across the city!"

Cindy G. "The Chocolate Bee is the brainchild of both local bad ass business women: Samantha Gordon (Bee Haven Honey) and Shalini Latour (Chocolates Latour). Together they make up one of my favorite local businesses in Cincinnati. Why? Because their products are 100% the REAL THING. THE HONEY:As far as the honey goes - it is as good as it gets. And I will drive from any corner of the city to get it. To say I am obsessed is putting it lightly. I love the different variations of honey they have: wildflower, spring, fall etc. Fun Fact: Honey can taste very different depending on where the bees pollinate from and what time of year. My favorite product she has is probably the wildflower honey - it's a clear honey and the smell is absolutely intoxicating. I love pairing it with bleu cheese on a cheese plate and making herbaceous cocktails with it or the standard Bee's Knees. I also LOVE the fact that she offers the honeycomb honey - also fantastic for cheese plates! Once you've had the real thing it is SO hard to ever go back. Sam is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. Ask her anything and if she doesn't know the answer she will find out for you! THE CHOCOLATE:I first tried Shalini's chocolates 5-6 years ago when she dropped off a small batch of pear anise chocolates to one of my yelp events. I didn't know who she was, and I had never had her chocolate. I don't like chocolate (GASP!) and the ONLY reason I tried one of her truffles that night was because it looked so incredibly beautiful and delicate. From there - I learned that maybe I do like chocolate? It just has to be REAL. What do I mean when I say real? Well when you buy a chocolate bar from the store 90% of it is a fake sugar substitute made out of sugar and corn syrup while 10% of it is real cocoa. Growing up I never knew why kids flocked to it. Now, after trying Shalini's which is harvested from beans in farms all over the world (that also help support women entrepreneurs BTW) I get what it is all about. Not only it is insatiable, her chocolates are literal works of art. I've always heard people ask why one truffle or chocolate is so expensive in shops before. Well here's why - Shalini HAND PAINTS her chocolates and the process is for 20 at a time:- Hand paint the form - Make the bottom shell - Fill the inside- Make the top shell - Paint or sprinkle the topFOR JUST 20 TRUFFLES! If you want to impress someone or indulge yourself, I highly reccomend going in and curating a variety box of truffles. Last but not least I love that she works with unique ingredients and it's not just the standard caramel truffle yada yada. She loves a challenge and often creates her candy based on the seasons. So for example if a brewery comes out with a new flavor - sure! Let's try it. If she gets her hands on a new flavor of tea - sure! Why not? And my favorite, the fresh herbed ones. Sam's dad owns a blueberry farm and I once tried a truffle that was a creamed honey and blueberry and I almost fell to the floor. GO SEE THESE LADIES. Shop local. Stock up. And thank me later ;)"

So I was very excited to try them here in Hamilton. The place used to be a Village Parlor, but Aglamesis Bros did some great updating to make it their own. And of course, the ice cream.I had their cream and cookies as well as pumpkin on a waffle cone. Both were super creamy and flavorful, but not cloyingly sweet. In other words, this is ice cream done right! And at $6.50 for what I had, it was also great value!Anyway, there were still some early kinks to work through, such as employees in training still trying to get used to the point of sale system. They use Toast and its built in Sincere Perks loyalty system, in case that matters to you.Overall, drop by for a visit! There's free parking in the nearby Main St. Parking Lot."

When I couldn't find my usual coffee place, I decided to go here. This place is awesome y'all! They have chocolate covered everything. From pecans, peanuts, pretzels, etc. They have stand alone chocolates too.....buckeyes, wurtlers, sea salt caramel, meltaways, etc. They also have an array of coffetic drinks. They have lattes, blended drinks, espresso, you name it, they got it.Ooooh, and they have smoothies, in which my daughter devoured. You can choose from Pineapple, mango, and other fresh fruit.I was worried that the coffetic drinks wouldn't be sweet enough, or that they would taste generic. Nope! Not at Winans. Their blended drinks, like the buckeye, are made with actual peanut butter. My husband tore his up!I got a few pieces of their chocolate, and I died. I love the peanut milk chocolate wurtles. Inside there is saltiness. Outside, is rich, decadent chocolate. After I dies, I ended back at Winans every day, until we left Ohio. This place is worth every penny that you will spend there."

I might have been one of those people who had 3 samples (sorry, not sorry). Later in the event I went back for more and was sad to learn that they were out. But, I recently found out they had a store in Oakley and went that day. First of all this store is super cute. There is a sitting area for you to sit and enjoy your goods. It also is a good place for a quick photo op with the "Here Comes Truffle" sign behind you. Ok, here comes the food stuff. I practically ordered the whole store. My order consisted of the, get ready for it .... the bacon brownie truffle. Yes, that's a thing. The red velvet truffle, cookies and cream truffle, and the carrot cake phatty cake (which I do believe is only offered at the Oakley location). It was tough to only limit myself to these items but I did it! All of them...I repeat all of them were soooooo good! Moist delicious and that bacon brownie truffle is a thing of beauty. If calories weren't a thing, I could have eaten at least 20 of them. I can't wait to go back, I'm already thinking of my order."

She was nice and answered all the questions I had. I spent a few minutes looking around and then I picked up a few items to take home. They also had samples of their brownie bon bons. They were good, so good that I ended up getting the bigger version of these. The brownie bon bons were small bite size brownies with frosting on top. They had a ton of chocolate options but I wasn't sure what to choose. I ended up getting the brownies in a mini pie dish with frosting on top. I got one with a Caramel center and nuts on top. I got my husband a nutless brownie. I also got a White Chocolate Key Lime center filled chocolate piece. The brownies and chocolate were pretty good and I don't have any complaints. However, I did not like the Key Lime Chocolate piece at all. I took a bite and spit it back out. The white chocolate tasted weird and the center didn't taste like Key Lime. It was an add texture. It was a little disappointing that the actually thing they are known for - chocolate, was not all that great. Again, I only had one piece and then brownies with chocolate on top. Maybe I'll have to go back and try a few more chocolate pieces to really be able to appreciate their craft. However, the brownies are good!"

Tiffany D. "4 stars for the chocolates and 1 extra for the amazing customer service! Certainly good cake truffles. I first tried Ruby's Chocolates at Martha Stewart's Food & Wine Festival in October in Cincinnati. They were featuring their Red Velvet and Turtle Cake Truffle. They were amazing, so I figured I had to actually go to their location and try more. When I looked up their location, I was surprised to find they are 8 min away from my house. I was super excited. I went by and tried them! I was greeted by Ali, the son of the owner. I also believe he is the Selling/Marketing Director. He gave AAMAZING customer service and was very personable. I ordered the bite size truffle box (12 truffle minis in a box). They had premade ones but I wanted my own flavors. They did this with no question asked or frustration. I had to wait 30-40 min for my custom box to be made but I talked to Ali for the most part. The owner, also came out and spoke as well. I had my youngest daughter with me (3 mon) so they both were admiring her. This business is a mom and two son trio. The other son came out as well at the end! All are very sweet! It was Halloween and the owner's birthday so they threw in 3 chocolate covered Oreos for my oldest daughter (3 year-old). How freaking sweet was that?! The chocolate covered cake truffles I got were Red Velvet, Key Lime, Turtle, Maple Bacon, Cookies and Cream and Chocolate. All of them were good and of course lent a different flavor. I'm not a big Key Lime fan but believe it or not the Key Lime flavor was very good! All of the truffles had a tender moist center with a chocolate outer shell. My favorite was probably Key Lime. I'm normally a huge Red Velvet fan but something about the way they make the Key Lime, stood out to me more. The Cookies & Cream was also very good. The Maple Bacon was good and different. Also, the truffles are pretty rich (especially the chocolate ones) so a 12 mini box will last you awhile. We still have over half a box in the fridge. They store well in the fridge. We take small bites out of them just for a sweet fix and put them back.Overall, Ruby's Chocolates has amazing customer service and good chocolate treats. This place is good for gifts for friends or family depending on the occasion. Definitely give them a try."

Meg E. "After an afternoon of shopping in Edinburg, ice cream sounded SO good. I looked on Yelp for something local and fast food chains like Mickey Dees popped up. Not what I was looking for so I turned to Google. They showed this place not too far away, conveniently on the way home back to Indy. It wasn't the easiest to find and we got stuck waiting on a train. It was 5:30 and they close at 6, I was so worried about missing out after seeing such great reviews. I really think they could do well being open later. We walked in and while it's a bit dark inside with the homestyle decor, the candy galore brightens things up. Everywhere you look, a variety of gummies, chocolate, jelly beans, taffy, etc. While we came for ice cream, and the elephant ear unique flavor did not disappoint, I was happy to also see a glass case of chocolates reasonably priced. Behind the counter in the ice cream side of the shop are more chocolates and gummies in containers that are sold by weight. I was happy to see peanut butter malt balls! One of my favorite sweet treats that are typically difficult to locate. Staff was nice. The cashier talked about the ice cream coming from a vendor who has 100+ years experience. I asked if she owned it and she explained all of the staff was family (husband, two kids). Makes me happy to support a family-run local mom and pop shop. Like I said, pricing was on point. I really enjoyed the ice cream in a waffle cone and the gummies were no surprise on the taste. My husband and kiddo got the cookie dough ice cream and didn't love the weird mint aftertaste. Once home, I tried the chocolates and didn't love them. I got a variety of truffles, one chocolate sea salt toffee, and a turtle. The only one I liked was the toffee, which was actually amazing. The others tasted like cheap chocolates with poor flavor. I would definitely return to this gem and recommend others stop by when in the area. Support local!"

I'll be honest that I was worried the non chocolate ones would just be like dry cookies. They were not. I would say the oatmeal white chocolate was my favorite. I loved how moist and buttery it was, and it didn't feel heavy in my stomach. At first I thought they were a little pricey for the size, but then I thought it through and it really is a fair price for the quality. I think you would pay a bit more at Starbucks for a brownie twice the size, but that brownie would not have the rich flavors and you wouldn't get to smell the scents in the bakery and support a local business."

He greeted us and asked if we had a question and upon replying to us, he emit such strong energy that it was undeniable this is truly the passion and true love of the chocolatier. We were wow-ed by his extensive knowledge, like he explained how he sourced his ingredients and that their vegan chocolate are pure vegan in comparison to the ones that are usually sold in stores that make claims as vegan chocolate but usually the sugar that's used isn't processed the true vegan way, as in using (cow) bone-char to decolorize the sugar. I thought it was super interesting to learn, certainly did not know that. The store itself has beautiful glass cases to showcase the beautiful artsy work-of-art truffles and across the room you can find many variations of their chocolate bars. The chocolate factory is located at the back of the store where they offer tour so you can learn and watch how the chocolate is made.
