Everyone on the car had a different drink and everyone said that it was the best coffee they had ever had. Get the beignets!! Orders two orders! Cool atmosphere. We played cards while we waited! Looks like they had a few lunch items, but had lots of cookies and desserts. And liquor!! We will stop on our way back home also!"

The best part is they have samples waiting for you right at the door. Dark or milk chocolate ~ trust me you won't be disappointed. As you breeze through the store you'll find other small dishes of candy to sample. Not only do they have chocolates but they have a variety of other candies ~ including Jelly Bellies :) You can find really nice last minute gift items here too. Be sure and check the sale table for great bargains! I love stopping here, especially around the holidays, because there is always something special. If there's a chocolate you want to try just ask the girls behind the counter, they're more than happy to accommodate you with a sample bite."

This is a fun store with all the old school vibes. You name about any candy and I'm sure it is there. They even have ice cream for cups and cones. My little heart smiled when I walked in and saw all of the candy I grew up on. They even have what is called Grandpa Joe's $5 Candy Buffet. I surely participated in this! It's where you get a box and fill it up with all the candy that can fit from a certain section in the store and it's $5. The only rule is the lid must close. Man oh man, my lid closed, but barely! Lol! It was fun and even more interesting to see how much candy I could stuff in this box. Definitely, go by Grandpa Joe's and experience all the nostalgic vibes!"

They had candy cigarettes! Yes I know that is not PC but screw PC! They had the things I used to pretend were the same cigs my parents smoked. They had pixie sticks! They had stuff I haven't seen since dinosaurs roamed the earth! And they had barrels where you could take a brown paper bag and load up on whatever loose candy they had that you wanted. Can you say Tootsie Roll pops and peppermints for days? And at great prices. Plus the owner at the counter was the sweetest lady to talk to. Oh! They also have spices that you can buy as much or as little as you want too. This store is just too much fun :)"

The staff was so friendly and helpful. They have everything here from small gifts, to bags of coffee, every candy on earth, fudge, macarons, and even cards! I tried some fudge, got a cute mothers day gift, snagged one of their last St Pattys Day hot chocolate bombs, and tried the macarons. Everything was great and I know the gift will be loved. As it was off season, they did not have chocolate strawberries readily available, but if you call ahead they will make them by request! I cannot wait to come back and try those among other things!"

Towards the back of the store, there is a large glass window where you can see the chocolates actually being made and packaged. I remember watching intently when I was younger and having day dreams about working there. Yum! My favorites: milk chocolate polywogs, english toffee, and milk chocolate caramels. They have so many different types of chocolate, and a wide selection of sugar free candy and chocolate as well. The staff is always so friendly, and more than willing to offer you a sample chocolate. I haven't seen Friesinger's ever distributed in grocery stores, so you have to make a trip to the store. Although it is hidden away on an industrial looking road, it is SO worth it. They have a lot of other candy options of course, including freshly made items, but my family really likes the fudge. My mom is particularly obsessed with the crème brûlée fudge (a flavor we have never seen anywhere else). I really like the birthday cake flavor, but all the other ones I have tried were good too! The employees are sweet and helpful. Downsides would definitely be accessibility and price... the fudge is sold by the chunk and is not cheap. Having no idea what to expect I wondered into this place and then my eyes busted out of their sockets. I'm not even a huge sweets person but there is something about walking into a candy store that just really gets me going. Memories of when, and where I ate the candy. Where we bought it as kids. I remember me and my brother scraping quarters together to go buy those vanilla french chews from the five and dime down the street. That kinda stuff. And this place is full of nostalgia for me. They have everything from red hots, to gummy bears, rock candy, chocolate and truffles to liquorice. Literally anything you could ever want, and if they don't have it, I'm sure they could get it.My only disappointment, which may be a positive for others, is that this candy is in bulk. So you can buy a 10 lb bag of lemonheads for $22. Now I am the wrong person to ask because I have no idea if that is cheap or not. But what they have is quality, and the staff is very friendly. I was looking to buy those cheap gold coin chocolates and they were out so close to St. Paddy's Day but the nice woman named a few other places that might still have them. I really appreciated that she took the time to help me! That is not common these days. Stop in Minges and just look around if nothing else. I didn't go during the Christmas rush or when they do demonstrations of making candy, but there were some ladies working behind a glass wall in the back making something that looked tasty! The long narrow building has a bank of candy counters on each side with a spot to get ice cream (and maybe a sandwich) on the right side. All the candy is under glass, so you just point out what you want to the staff (by the piece or by the pound, whatever you like and can afford!)The candy isn't cheap, but that's okay. A lot of it is made in house, though I would guess some of the candies are produced elsewhere. When you aren't mass producing, the prices seem to be a bit higher. You can always find the French chews and the candy canes here. There are seasonal flavors too. I got the last novacane, a blueberry lime candy cane to numb the pain of 2020. It was tasty. French chews are always good they offer seasonal flavors such as peppermint taffy for Christmas and strawberry for valentines day in the candy canes. She was nice and answered all the questions I had. I spent a few minutes looking around and then I picked up a few items to take home. They also had samples of their brownie bon bons. They were good, so good that I ended up getting the bigger version of these. The brownie bon bons were small bite size brownies with frosting on top. They had a ton of chocolate options but I wasn't sure what to choose. I ended up getting the brownies in a mini pie dish with frosting on top. I got one with a Caramel center and nuts on top. I got my husband a nutless brownie. I also got a White Chocolate Key Lime center filled chocolate piece. The brownies and chocolate were pretty good and I don't have any complaints. However, I did not like the Key Lime Chocolate piece at all. I took a bite and spit it back out. The white chocolate tasted weird and the center didn't taste like Key Lime. It was an add texture. It was a little disappointing that the actually thing they are known for - chocolate, was not all that great. Again, I only had one piece and then brownies with chocolate on top. Tiffany D. "4 stars for the chocolates and 1 extra for the amazing customer service! Certainly good cake truffles. I first tried Ruby's Chocolates at Martha Stewart's Food & Wine Festival in October in Cincinnati. They were featuring their Red Velvet and Turtle Cake Truffle. They were amazing, so I figured I had to actually go to their location and try more. When I looked up their location, I was surprised to find they are 8 min away from my house. I was super excited. I went by and tried them! I was greeted by Ali, the son of the owner. I also believe he is the Selling/Marketing Director. He gave AAMAZING customer service and was very personable. I ordered the bite size truffle box (12 truffle minis in a box). They had premade ones but I wanted my own flavors. They did this with no question asked or frustration. I had to wait 30-40 min for my custom box to be made but I talked to Ali for the most part. The owner, also came out and spoke as well. I had my youngest daughter with me (3 mon) so they both were admiring her. This business is a mom and two son trio. The other son came out as well at the end! All are very sweet! It was Halloween and the owner's birthday so they threw in 3 chocolate covered Oreos for my oldest daughter (3 year-old). How freaking sweet was that?! The chocolate covered cake truffles I got were Red Velvet, Key Lime, Turtle, Maple Bacon, Cookies and Cream and Chocolate. All of them were good and of course lent a different flavor. I'm not a big Key Lime fan but believe it or not the Key Lime flavor was very good! All of the truffles had a tender moist center with a chocolate outer shell. My favorite was probably Key Lime. I'm normally a huge Red Velvet fan but something about the way they make the Key Lime, stood out to me more. The Cookies & Cream was also very good. The Maple Bacon was good and different. Also, the truffles are pretty rich (especially the chocolate ones) so a 12 mini box will last you awhile. We still have over half a box in the fridge. They store well in the fridge. We take small bites out of them just for a sweet fix and put them back.Overall, Ruby's Chocolates has amazing customer service and good chocolate treats. This place is good for gifts for friends or family depending on the occasion. Definitely give them a try."

Not what I was looking for so I turned to Google. They showed this place not too far away, conveniently on the way home back to Indy. It wasn't the easiest to find and we got stuck waiting on a train. It was 5:30 and they close at 6, I was so worried about missing out after seeing such great reviews. I really think they could do well being open later. We walked in and while it's a bit dark inside with the homestyle decor, the candy galore brightens things up. Everywhere you look, a variety of gummies, chocolate, jelly beans, taffy, etc. While we came for ice cream, and the elephant ear unique flavor did not disappoint, I was happy to also see a glass case of chocolates reasonably priced. Behind the counter in the ice cream side of the shop are more chocolates and gummies in containers that are sold by weight. I was happy to see peanut butter malt balls! One of my favorite sweet treats that are typically difficult to locate. Staff was nice. The cashier talked about the ice cream coming from a vendor who has 100+ years experience. I asked if she owned it and she explained all of the staff was family (husband, two kids). Makes me happy to support a family-run local mom and pop shop. Like I said, pricing was on point. I really enjoyed the ice cream in a waffle cone and the gummies were no surprise on the taste. My husband and kiddo got the cookie dough ice cream and didn't love the weird mint aftertaste. Once home, I tried the chocolates and didn't love them. I got a variety of truffles, one chocolate sea salt toffee, and a turtle. The only one I liked was the toffee, which was actually amazing. But I don't think I've ever seen gummy bears look so glamorous in my life. There is this fantastic rainbow of gummy bear photos across one wall. Under them are shelves of candy. Necco Wafers! The lights are Sputnik design and so bright, the candy glistens in its sugary, waxy coating. It's like a dream. There are rows of cases full of gummies (obviously the specialty) and trail mixes, suckers, taffies, chocolates, Swedish fish... I was excited to see there were a few sugar free options. I have parents who are diabetic, so this is a great bonus. I purchased two kinds. I did ask about any sort of vegan candy, as eating with food allergies is sort of my gig. They said no one had asked about that. I suggested a vegan/gluten free option could overlap and serve two communities at the same time. We all love candy, right? My boyfriend was agog over his strawberry banana gummy bears which the nice lady behind the counter assured him was the best banana she had. My taffy was ok. I learned purple taffy is terrible. My parents were into those chocolate vanilla caramels! They would highly recommend them to folks watching their sugar. Or even not. But the sugar free gummies were rubbery and lack luster. Over all, I'd say my purchases were a win. Trying new candy, even when it's not great is fun. The customer service here was fantastic. The girls running the place said they weren't the owners, but they were charming and wonderful. Great for a chat.
