Brittney K. "My recent experience of having brunch with a friend here was one of the very best. I've been several times over the years and always had delicious food but the latest was way above expectations. I was hesitant to get the brisket pho for brunch at first but wow was I happy with my choice. This dish was expertly created with their fall-apart melt in your mouth brisket, a fried egg and a toasted bagel to top it off. Some of the typical pho toppings like bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and jalapeños, made this dish taste quite familiar, yet having this brunch version was interesting. I love the take on one of my favorite Asian dishes and had never seen it brunchetized before. I would highly recommend to any pho lovers who are open to a unique take on this Vietnamese cuisine to give this a try."

Mike L. "So I've finally gotten a chance to make it around to The Smoking Pig.. Albeit just for carry out but I'm sure I'll go for a dinner sit down sometime soon. First off the decor is very country... and very clean and crisp. A lot of antiques hanging around and even an antique store in one of the buildings. I took a look around and will have to come back and check out some things I might want to buy to decorate my own place. There are two main buildings. One is the kitchen building which has a few seats inside and is where you'll order your food. The other is the store area with more seating. There is also plenty of other seating outside. The menu is fairly short but sweet. It doesn't get too complicated with things and gives you exactly what you want in a country bbq joint. I got the Korean Kickin Chicken with the Pig Tails. The pig tails were kinda of like a wide short curly fry, they were fantastic. The sandwich was fantastic. Spicy bbq charred just right and flavored up. All sitting on a pretzel bun. Those two items filled me up!! Pendleton County is littered with failed restaurants.. I'm really hoping that this one survives. It's a good location for many people in the county and it's priced very well. I can't wait to go in and sit down to a rack of ribs sometime soon!!"

Still, the jalapeno isn't so hot that milder folks can't enjoy it. The little kick hits up front and gently exits, leaving us wanting more. Who knew Ohio had such great BBQ and sauce? Well, now we in Illinois do! We'll order the Honey Jalapeno and the Craft Honey again soon. Thanks, G3, for taste and more!"

BBQ sauce also was very good. They also gave us fries. They had waffle fries on the menu but these looked like the Arbys curly fries. I don't remember ordering them but maybe we did. We went back and forth on getting them or getting from another place in the food kitchen."

We decided to find a local restaurant for lunch.Bell Farms sounded good from the online description. We arrived at about 1:00pm and the place was empty... a little unsettling. But they were open and seated us if the front room. This is a converted home right and very charming. The menu had a good variety of options, but I was drawn to the comfort food selections... Beef Briskey and Noodles. It was a tough choice between that and the Chicken and Noodles.Another couple arrived and then a couple more... so we weren't the only people dining in Chillicothe today. Our meals arrived very quickly. The noodles were very think and had to be homemade. The thick beef broth was delicious, and there were small chunks of brisket in the broth. This was the best such meal I remember having (the the chicken and noodles would have had to contend with Grandma's memory). It would have been nice to have some more sizeable chunks of brisket in the broth... but it didn't detract from the meal. The meal came with two sides... I chose baked beans and Cole slaw.. Both were delicious. The drinks and refills were prompt and the service was solid and unpretentious. My wife ordered the salad with smoked chicken and loved it... and took home 2/3 of what was served. You won't go away hungry. This place is a gem and very reasonably priced. Don't miss it."

Kim S. "Simply a great local BBQ joint. It's clear that they're using their own homemade recipes and taking care to make everything perfection.I tried the pulled chicken, which was incredibly juicy, tender, and well seasoned. So often I find that pulled chicken is dry and flavorless, so this was a great relief. It hardly even needed the sauce! The mac and cheese really stole the show though. The noodles were the perfect al dente, and I could tell they used fresh cheese when I got that beautiful stringy cheese pull. Way better than mac and cheese you sometimes find elsewhere that tastes more processedI'll be back to try more!"

Lauren F. "Came in right before dinner rush. Sat ourselves and was served within 5 minutes of sitting down. Our food was quick and took about 10/15 minutes to come out. Food was hot and fresh. My 10 year old daughter ordered the kids 5 wings and went with boneless. She ordered teriyaki sauce to go with her wings. It was super nice that they served her fries and wings in separate bowls (iykyk). She said it was very delicious. She took some fries and two wings home as she was full from the meal. I ordered the 10 bone in chicken wings with medium Parmesan garlic sauce with a side of celery and ranch. I also ordered an half size of their highly recommended Cajun curly fries. I loved being able to add heat flavoring to my Parmesan garlic wings. They made my fries just the perfect way of well done and had Cajun seasoning but not overpowering. Ranch and celery were delicious. I loved my food wings were also crispy. The place was an adorable small town little restaurant with old license plates and signs on the walls. It is not very big however it was like I said an adorable little "hole in the wall". Service was wonderful my server checked on us often as well as another server (I did not catch the names). There was a mix up on the recipe saying I had ordered a medium ranch dressing along with my small. I pointed it out nicely when I paid and they apologized and took it right off. Would we come back? Yes. Would we recommend? Yes."

The staff friendly and efficient. Great menu with sandwiches wraps salads and more. For the two of us a Mushroom burger with fries, buffalo chicken sandwich with fries 2 drinks and fried cheese sticks with tax was just $26. The portions were generous too! My chicken was to too big for the bun! And my husband who can usually eat 2 entrees took half his burger to go. Their pulled pork was just okay but my husband really enjoyed.I had the burnt end sandwich and it was a 5 out of 5. I just did not expect it to come saucy but very good. We called at 11:30 AM on a Saturday and they were already sold out of brisket. We arrived about 12 noon and had to wait a good 15 minutes just to order. This place is busy! And for good reason. Let me say that it is an outstanding barbecue joint that can go toe-to-toe with the best of what Cincinnati has to offer. It has a rich variety with its wings, which have a perfect balance between crispy and juicy. Likewise, their brisket sandwich is out of this world with its flavor, with something akin to a Texas rub. Today, I had a pulled pork sandwich, which followed the same consistency. Their fries and chips are homemade - done to rustic, seasoned perfection. It's worth mentioning that this establishment is at the edge of a lovely park. It's perfect for finishing walks with kids & dogs -- both of which are welcome, inside and outside."

Benjamin B. "I was pissed that the exit to NB I-75 was closed yesterday, but then when I was on my way on an alternate route, I found Big Ed. I had to weave through 3 lanes of traffic to take an immediate left to get to him. It was worth the risk. I have done riskier things to get good bbq. Big Ed has a perfect set-up at Stanley & Webster. A deserted parking lot right on the corner with easy access from all directions. A walk up shack where you order from a menu that ranges from ribs to fried bologna. Not sure what you want to eat? Just walk over to his beautiful, seasoned direct heat cooker made from an old oil tank. Big Ed cooks with charcoal and cherry wood. You can literally stand in front of it and pick from a plethora of bbq'd meats. Chicken, ribs, sausages, fried bologna (yep) and probably others. The heat and smoke from the cooker keep your views short-livedI went for the rib sandwich and the day's special. The special was a pepper jack sausage, chips and drink for $5. I think the rib sandwich was $11. The sausage was store-bought and ho-hum. Not bad, but not very good either. The rib sandwich was the highlight here. The ribs looks so perfect on the cooker. The color was mahogany and they had crispy char in all the right spots. Big Ed cut the ribs for my sandwich right on the grate of the cooker. He slaps some sauce on them and places them in a styrofoam container with a perfectly cheap and soft white hamburger bun. Rib Sandwich! I sat on my tailgate and watched traffic roll by while making a fool of myself with sauce all over my hands and face. A lunch fit for a sunny Friday afternoon in April. I'm trying the fried bologna next visit."

The staff is always super friendly and accommodating, I've never had to wait long on getting an amazing and affordable meal, and I never have regrets coming here. I typically order the small steak and usually end up taking half home. Key tip, ask for the steak au jus sauce to go if you plan to reheat later. Put the steak and au jus in a pan on your stove top on low heat to warm up, and it's like having it at the restaurant all over! I recommend the ribber fries which are like lighter fluffier Saratoga chips. I ask for mine crispier though. Also, the beer battered onion rings are on point! Top it all off with a local beer brewed literally next door, and you're set! Enjoy one of the best restaurants Portsmouth has to offer folks, you will not regret it!"
