"I tried to post a comment about my visit on the Ghostlight Coffee Facebook page, but rather than comment or follow up on it, they deleted it. So, I'll try to recreate the content here.Their coffees are always good, and today was no exception (hence, the 4-star rating). Their baked goods are usually good too, so when I saw that they had a "Black Forest Cherry Cake", I was excited to get one. Sadly, I was greatly disappointed. Really, you can't just make a chocolate sheet cake, top it with super sugary icing, toss a maraschino cherry on top, and call it a Black Forest Cherry cake. There was nothing about this dessert that resembled a Black Forest Cherry cake. I've attached a photo so that you can see what they made. There are plenty of good recipes online for this, and I'm including one here so that anyone can get an idea about what it SHOULD have been.https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1020807-black-forest-cake"
"There's no reason to get a breakfast sandwich anywhere else in town. A croissant that just came out of the oven? Fresh fluffy eggs? Bacon... I don't even eat cheese but that would have made it even better. But really, though, the pastries....magnifique! When someone says you MUST try the kouign-Amman, don't snooze on that! They are the most delicate, slightly sweet, buttery bit of deliciousness..! But the raspberry danish and chocolate croissant are also amazing. Their chocolate chip cookie is the closest to the holy grail cookie that I've been searching for snd brings back memories of my childhood and local Italian bakery in the Boston area. Love love the food. The ambience is negligible, and the coffee is ok. But you won't be disappointed with the food!"

"Bring your appetite as the portions are generous. You get to view potential desserts as you pass the bakery on the way to your table. We were part of a group of 5 couples. Our server was Liz. She was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive. My Vitello Scallopini with piccata sauce was 3 pieces of lightly breaded veal cutlets cooked to perfection. The piccata sauce featured capers and a zesty lemon after taste. It was served over a bed of spaghetti. We had Italian sausage and peppers as an appetizer that was delicious and used the fresh bread to enjoy the savory "gravy" on every plate. Perfect for eating half and having a take home meal the next day."
"I'm getting in plenty more tusslesNow that I've got lots of musclesAnd when I'm feeling awfulI go get a waffleAnd this place makes them just like Brussels! The kid serving Belgian waffles here was friendly and I gave him a nice tip. The waffle itself wasn't too pricey which I appreciated, and they sell them by themselves (no ice cream or toppings required) which I also appreciated. But when you've been to Brussels and you've had the best of the best, it's hard to take anything sold in America seriously. And while I can take the ones sold in Pittsburgh (Waffalonia) and New York City (Wafles And Dinges) seriously because they taste something like the good ones in Belgium, this one really didn't do it for me.It also wasn't really bad and because of the cheap price and the fact that it's in Cincinnati where you don't expect this kind of thing, I will definitely give it 4 stars. But it's a generous 4 stars and if they could make it taste half as good as Maison Dandoy in Brussels they would have 10 stars out of five for me. Which isn't possible. But I would find a way to give them 10. So 4 isn't exactly a glowing endorsement. Not from me."
"One of my favorite gluten-free places! I found this randomly a year or so ago. I try to come in whenever I can. Staff here are always helpful. I came when it was empty on a Friday morning. I had them run through both sweet and savory options. I ordered a Quiche to eat in house and then 2 treats to take with me. Rosemary Feta Quiche - I asked to have this heated up. If I was at home I would have heated it more. But this quiche? Like a cloud. So fluffy! Cinnamon Rollup - these are like mini sweet breads. It came with a lot of cream cheese frosting, so you won't hear any complaints from me! The texture of the rollup was like a soft crumble, not a dry or chunky one if that makes sense. Lavender Citrus Muffin - this is like somewhere between a cupcake and a muffin. It was still moist the next day and had a perfect amount of some kind of frosting or glaze on top. The lavender was there without being too overwhelming. They do have pour over coffee, some teas, and maybe a random refrigerated can of something. There is enough seating inside to enjoy your goodies or take them with you! Next time: I'll try one of their donuts."
"Excellent donuts! Love their peach fritters! All their donuts are decent and good."
"Wow, what a hidden little gem this was. Really good folks working there and really good biscuits. They have a good gravy as well! If your in the area check this place out. Also go check out the Children's hospital near by, has some great artwork."
"The food and tea was delicious. The Onigiri and Karaage combo was filling, the chicken was perfectly cooked with a light crisp. Their Genmaicha tea was flavorful. I was given a complementary chocolate coffee dessert that was rich but not overly sweet. Their yuzu dessert was so fluffy and light with a perfect zest. Everyone is very friendly and kind. I definitely loved the ambience of the café as it was very soft and cozy. They are dog friendly. When I walked in they approached the dogs and started praising my pups which I appreciated."
"After a long hike at Miami Whitewater Forest, we were pretty hungry. We didn't feel like driving out to Harrison, but it's quite a drive back to West Chester. So we looked on Yelp (where else?) for some "inspirations" nearby. The only one that looked decent was Ari & Mia's. So off we went. The service was super friendly. We were sat quickly. The menu had a lot of your typical cafe and brunch affairs but the pickle buns were a pleasant surprise for those who are trying to low-carb it.I had their luau wrap. My wife had their Cincy Turkey sandwich with a pickle instead of a bun. Both were delicious. We both had their fries, which were of the thin variety and well-seasoned. Prices are very reasonable. Overall wed definitely be back.Their bathrooms are outside in an adjacent building, super clean."
"Open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Score! My coworkers and I were in Cincinnati for work and found a Crumbl 1 mile from our hotel. We skipped the bar for some sweet treats. Definitely not disappointed.Great location with easy parking. We ordered a box of 4 cookies. These cookies are giant and so good. We shared them so we could try everything. The staff at Crumbl were so friendly. It was so easy to order. You can order at the kiosk or directly at the counter. We ordered at the counter to figure out what we wanted."
"Great apple fritters and a good variety of donuts. Excellent coffee selections. Also their Kettle Danish are delicious"
"We recently ordered takeout from here. Due to a medical illness, I can't go inside because of germs. I got the Pork Belly Ban Mi and it was really good. The bread is great. The Pork was nicely seasoned. Needed a little more sauce because it was a little dry. I can handle spice, but in the second half of the sandwich there was one bite that just lit me up. They were very thoughtful and packaged the vegetables separately for the to go order so the sandwich wouldn't get soggy. The vegetables were incredibly fresh! Cilantro is so refreshing. The pastries were fresh and great as well. Will be getting again."

I heard about this cafe from local friends at the college I attended. The drinks my friends and I had were excellent. The place has a cozy, comforting atmosphere and consistently serves great drinks.

I've been coming here for about 3 months after finding this hidden gem of a bakery, and it's still amazing. They remodeled the entire store, and it looks so spacious and clean... The staff is amazing, with the best customer service I have had in years. So far I've had about 15 things off their menu, and literally nothing compares to the quality of food here! If you need a recommendation to try it, do it, and you won't be disappointed with anything you buy. By far "the" best bakery in Dayton, and most likely the state of Ohio.

As someone who is Gluten Free - I LOVE THIS PLACE! It is so great that we have a 100% Gluten Free bakery in Cincinnati! I have had many items off the menu - quiches, lemon bars, muffins, etc. and all have been so good you cannot even tell they are Gluten Free! The last blueberry muffin I had was super moist, had SO many blueberries in it, and was the perfect texture. My only ask would be to see if they could add other breakfast pastries to their menu like croissants - but even as is, there are so many options and something for everyone! The space inside is small, so be prepared to take your food to go if there is no space. The staff is always super nice and able to answer any questions about the food items and other potential allergies. So thankful we have this place here - cannot wait to go back!

Pickup some donuts after dropping a loved one off at the airport. Coming from centerville I usually only ever get bills but these were delicious! If I didn't live far this would be my go to donut place.

We absolutely LOVE Salt Block. From the week they opened, we have been impressed by the quality of ingredients they use and the variety of items on the menu. The entire team is always warm and welcoming. In addition to the excellent savory items on the menu, the desserts will change your life. Best almond frosting...EVER! Truly. We have friends that request "that amazing cake" every time they come from out of town. The owner, Justin, has also done several catering jobs for us. And every time it has been executed flawlessly. Every attention to detail met, amazing food and Justin is so clean and tidy! Our dinner party for 8...the kitchen looked like he had never even been there. An independent poll just rated Salt Block the best cafe in Dayton, and for good reason. It is a true Dayton Gem! Give it a try.

After a friend brought Chaka's Matcha Roll to a party at our house, four of us decided to meet there for lunch. As the lone vegetarian, I called ahead because the menu did not seem to offer something for me. I'm pleased to say we dined there today and all of us were pleased! They whipped up fried tofu with enoki mushrooms in a tasty broth served with salad and a small roll filled with egg. The service was kind, the food was delicious and the portions ample. Can't wait to return.

"Great bakery and quiche. Friendly and well spoken young man who works in the summer time ! I don't eat there too noisyAnd the outside tables all taken!"
"German food is one of my favorites, and being in Cincinnati, I'm surprised it took us this long to find a restaurant that serves some great German food. We visited at the suggestion of my cousin, who said it was exemplary. We arrived around 5:30, and were surprised at the size of the shop (only about 16 chairs), but luckily were able to get a couple seats at the bar right away. Within 30 minutes, the whole restaurant was full, and there was constantly a couple people waiting for a table (this was exacerbated by cold weather, which meant they didn't have outdoor seating available). The whole menu looked very tasty, and we absolutely had to try a pretzel in addition to our entrees. I'm not a big Goetta fan, but my wife wanted to go for the Goettabrezel, which came with cheese. I wanted to try a couple of the sauces they had, so we ordered a side of the spundekas and spicy mustard. For my entree, I couldn't say no to the classic Schnitzel Sandwich. It was made with chicken, coleslaw, and a potato bun. The schnitzel was crispy, flavorful, and juicy. The bun was fluffy, but firm enough to hold the sandwich together. It was absolutely delicious. My wife ordered a flatbread covered in potato, cheese, and speck--can't remember what it was called. It was quite tasty, though a little underseasoned. As for the Goettabrezel, this was probably the best pretzel I've ever had. It was hot, a bit chewy, well-seasoned, and went perfectly with both the mustard and spundekas. Still didn't love the goetta, but the pretzel itself was delicious. We don't usually opt for dessert, but decided to get some on this occasion. I think it was like an apple cranberry cake of some sort, with a cream sauce and little cookies sprinkled on top. It was super tasty.Overall, the food was delicious, the best German food I've had in Cincinnati, and we will definitely be back!"
"I stopped by to pick up a loaf of bread on my way home from an appt today. This is one of our favorite spots to come for fresh baked bread it's just unfortunate that it's over 30 mins away from our house. Still we make an effort anytime we're down here to grab one to go because it's addicting Our favorite is the sourdough bread. Warm it up in a toaster oven for a nice crunch and a warm doughy center. I can't speak for the pastries yet but I'm sure I'll try one someday. The service is always friendly as you're greeted with a smile. The atmosphere isn't much to speak of since it's a small take out area as the building mostly houses the equipment for baking. A simple takeout bakery but oh so delicious!"
"Great little spot for a coffee and a breakfast bite. Super friendly staff that were extra accommodating to our pup."
"My God son graduated from St. X this week and his graduation cake came fron Tres Belle. When I went to pick up the cake, I couldn't help but get a few little treats. I got a Tiramisu macaron which tasted like it was in a fridge too long and two little oatmeal and raisin cookie sandwiches which were awesome! On to my cake retrieving mission. Tres Belle was SUPPOSED to be the only bakery in the city that did the kind of cake that his mom wanted. She wanted a Sprinkle Explosion Cake with blue and white frosting on the cake (St. X colors) and the cake itself the color of the college that he's going to attend. For those Yelpers who are not familiar with an explosion cake, I'll fill you in. When you cut into the cake, it is dyed the colors that you want and sprinkles or candy spill out from the center of the cake when it's cut . They are really cool and quite pretty. Well, he cut into his cake and SURPRISE... NO SPRINKLES... NO NOTHING spilling out of the cake. Just a plain ole cake with frosting. Don't get me wrong, people ate the cake and liked it but it was just a cake. Nothing special. 3 stars because they didn't deliver."
"Ordered a heart shaped cake when picked up it wasn't quite right but they fixed it immediately great service the flavor of choice was red velvet with buttercream icing every one enjoyed it very moist not to thick in the past we've ordered and it was a lil thick Ele is our go to for celebration cakes and this one was one of the Best"
"I'm from LA and it's my first time to order birthday cake for my Dad's birthday from this bakery and I have to say my family was impressed. My cousin said the place was small but it doesn't matter they said the cake was super delicious not too sweet and they didn't know there's a Chinese bakery around the area. Ha! The cake was beautifully decorated, nicely done. My family can't get enough, they said it was so good. They can't wait to try the other flavors. Now, they know where to get their BIRTHDAY CAKE from now on. Thank you!"
"I was traveling from out of state and came into this cute little coffee shop in downtown Xenia. I ordered their vegetable and bacon quiche with avocado. I also ordered a medium cappuccino with whole milk. Both were excellent. I can't get over the quiche. It was probably the best quiche I ever had, and I'm a quiche fanatic. I don't know how they cook avocado inside the quiche, but it comes out perfectly. The service was exceptional, making it a must-go place. You will not be disappointed if you're from out of town or live nearby."
"First time at this bakery. Can't wait to go back. Great looking bakery case. Cream horns and other baked goods we tried were fantastic! I live about 25 miles away and would drive there for just this bakery. The staff were very helpful and so pleasant. Small, quaint atmosphere."
"Order some amazing cookie tarts for curbside pickup! We can't stress this enough, they were divine!!!"
"I was looking for someone that could make cookies for the Super Bowl for my mega Chiefs fan boyfriend. I emailed Inspiring Kind, they called me right away to discuss what I wanted. A lot of bakeries won't let you do a variety of shapes for just a dozen cookies, but they have no limit on shapes per dozen! They did such an amazing job, and the price was awesome! I'm so pleased with their work, timeliness, and artistic ability. If you need custom cookies, or want a sweet treat, check out Inspiring Kind Bakery."
"I had the privilege of having LaDawn make my wedding cake , when I first started planning I had it set in stone that no one else could make my cake except her and she delivered! Everything I dreamt of and more , I could never imagine ordering a cake for any special event unless it's done by LaDawn"
"Have been meaning to visit for quite some time. Needed treats for my mom's birthday, so I stopped in. Was instantly grateful I stopped by when I saw their sign out front offering teachers a special treat. It's just really nice to be at school all day, giving, giving, giving... then going to a business that respects & honors my colleagues & me. It was just a great feeling. Then, on top of all of that kindness, I had a great conversation with all three associates there... THEN- the cupcakes were delicious! Five stars reviews on each cupcake from my mom, my 2 young daughters, & me! Will definitely be returning! I found my new fav sweet shop!"
"This place is a neighborhood gem. I've lived in the area for about a year and this is my first time visiting. I always appreciate a warm greeting and the staff did not disappoint. It was nice how they answered our questions about the different traditional Dutch pastries and patiently filled our individual orders. Those donuts were DELICIOUS. Light and fluffy and good! The decor has you taking a walk down memory lane, with pictures on the wall showing the family history from 1920."
"One of my co workers recommended the cookies and decided to give a try. I love how easy it is to order online and that they have their own app. Also it's cool that they have certain flavors per month that way you are not overwhelmed with bunch of choices. Ordered the triple berry cobbler cookie and it was delicious! You could really taste the berries and the the cookies was extra soft. The price is a bit high, but for that big of a cookie you really can't eat more than one. When I went to pick it up, the location was eye catching, very neat and clean, I love that the bakers are right in front of you and that they show you the cookies before closing the box. I plan to go back to try other flavors!"
"What a cute spot in OTR!! If you like bubble tea, this is the place for you. My husband and I each got fruit tea bubble tea on a hot day and they were delicious. I love getting a mix of tapioca and fruit pop boba for a bit of variety. It's a small shop but service is super fast and friendly. Will definitely be back--they have an extensive menu!"
"Excellent donuts and cookies. Items are always fresh and service is wonderful. Plenty of choices made for a great Sunday morning."
"Delicious! My first time ever trying Crumbl. Ordered a 4-pack for pick up. Employees very welcoming & polite. Will return."
"Yeah I love pretzels. I drive to Smales from Fairborn to get some. Get you some beer cheese to dip them in on the way home. I get three or four freshies for the family. Can pop is nice and cold in the serve yourself fridge."
"First time here, was not disappointed great flavor. There were enough toppings, they did not skimp and that is important. I had the small cheese and sausage the crust was crunchy very well cooked the cook it in stone oven and to me that gives it that authentic taste of really old fashioned pizza taste. The tomato sauce was robust and very flavorful. All in all just a great pizza experience. Will be back."
"We also go to Amycakes for all of our occasions and have been extremely happy with them. Stopping in the shop for cakes, cookies and macaroons you will not be disappointed either."
"I tried Ross Bakery while on the Donut Trail. Saturday morning of Father's Day, my husband and I decided to take our DT list and go around with our daughter and try most of the shops listed. This was one of the stops on the Donut Trail. Ross Bakery was simple and their options were a little slim. However, they have a very tasty Smiley Face Cookie and chocolate donut. While on the trail we only got one donut per shop. It doesn't sound like a lot but go to 8 donut shops in one day and see how you feel at the end. Lol. We ordered a Chocolate Donut with Chocolate Icing, with chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips from this location. Can you say chocolate overload?! Oh yeah! From every location we tried something different. This donut was different and yummy! I normally wouldn't go for a chocolate donut unless it's a cake donut, but this one was good. I also liked the toppings. It had a nice crunch. My favorite donut is a chocolate iced with sprinkles so the one we ordered was basically that but had chocolate chips and a chocolate base. The donut was good and tasted homemade. It was fresh and I enjoyed the chocolate chips as a nice addition. They also have cookies and other little items. My daughter wanted a Smiley Face Cookie. I thought ahh it's your typical store bought cookie. However, I was wrong. It was actually really good. I tasted a small piece and it was flavorful and the cookie was very soft. Yummy! Overall, Ross Bakery was good!"
"This corner bake/cake shop is easy to miss in a strip mall on the northeast corner of Madison and Stop 11. The shop is small and when I entered, I didn't see anyone working, but I grabbed a serving tray and tongs to the right of the entrance and began shopping. They have a large number of breads, pastries, and cookies available, but none were labeled, so it required a bit of guessing on my part. At some point during my shopping, a woman quietly appeared at the cash register. My wife is a big fan of the large, crispy pastry that looks like the dough is rolled out then the lengths get folded a couple times to spread out across the bake sheet. Some places add a bit of sugar to make a glazed/sweet layer. This place had just a light coating. However, she still enjoyed the crisp crunch of the treat.I also picked up a horn stuffed with a vanilla filling, a long roll with a berry jelly filling, a large cookie (like a sugar cookie, but not much flavor), and a triangle filled with pineapple filling (I thought it was lemon when I bought it.) My favorite was the large triangle. The horn was more like bread than like pastry. The prices are low and I got all six items for less than a $6 ($0.89 to $1.25 each). It's nice to know I don't have to drive all the way to 38th Street on the west side to pickup Mexican pastry. I have a feeling my wife is going to want to visit here again.Note: This spot is adjacent to a Mexican grocery/restaurant so you can take care of getting all your Mexican food shopping/dining without moving your car.Review #2699"
