"My husband frequently supports school groups that are fund raising. Many times he knows it is a mere donation. Occasionally there is a product being sold. That was the case when he ordered an Apple Pie from a business associate's child.Thanksgiving week the pie was delivered in a box that clearly identified the baker as The Pie Peddler. The box was sealed and contained instructions for storage and serving. Fortunately, we did not save the pie to serve on Thanksgiving or share with anyone else. Instead we decided to splurge and treat ourselves to the pie on the evening it had been delivered.UGG!!! Neither of use could choke down the 1/6 pie slice serving. It was mostly extremely SALTY crust with a thin single layer of apples between the top layer of crust and the bottom. Being this is the only time we've eaten a Pie Peddler Pie we don't know if someone put salt in the recipe instead of sugar or if this is the norm. WE WON'T BE BUYING ANOTHER ONE TO GIVE IT A SECOND CHANCE.So we threw the rest of the pie in the garbage the following day and reminded ourselves this was merely a donation to the school group. As for the web site for Pie Peddler it says they are committed to "value-added" fund raising. NO, I don't think there was any value to the product we received."

"I tried Ross Bakery while on the Donut Trail. Saturday morning of Father's Day, my husband and I decided to take our DT list and go around with our daughter and try most of the shops listed. This was one of the stops on the Donut Trail. Ross Bakery was simple and their options were a little slim. However, they have a very tasty Smiley Face Cookie and chocolate donut. While on the trail we only got one donut per shop. It doesn't sound like a lot but go to 8 donut shops in one day and see how you feel at the end. Lol. We ordered a Chocolate Donut with Chocolate Icing, with chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips from this location. Can you say chocolate overload?! Oh yeah! From every location we tried something different. This donut was different and yummy! I normally wouldn't go for a chocolate donut unless it's a cake donut, but this one was good. I also liked the toppings. It had a nice crunch. My favorite donut is a chocolate iced with sprinkles so the one we ordered was basically that but had chocolate chips and a chocolate base. The donut was good and tasted homemade. It was fresh and I enjoyed the chocolate chips as a nice addition. They also have cookies and other little items. My daughter wanted a Smiley Face Cookie. I thought ahh it's your typical store bought cookie. However, I was wrong. It was actually really good. I tasted a small piece and it was flavorful and the cookie was very soft. Yummy! Overall, Ross Bakery was good!"
"Stop here! Worth the visit. Service was great. Girl behind the counter smiled the entire time we ordered. Everyone on the car had a different drink and everyone said that it was the best coffee they had ever had. Get the beignets!! Orders two orders! Cool atmosphere. We played cards while we waited! Looks like they had a few lunch items, but had lots of cookies and desserts. And liquor!! We will stop on our way back home also!"
"I'd been searching for donuts in the Covington area to give out as work treats, and found a nearby place in Newport. It was not what I was hoping for, so I luckily broadened my search to pastries and lucked upon North South. It is in the same building as a pizza shop, so easy to miss. There was an assortment of croissants, sticky buns, cinnamon rolls, and other treats that looked good. I grabbed a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich for myself and it was delicious, honestly the best breakfast sandwich I'd ever had because of the flaky croissant with seeds and cheese! I didn't get to try any of the pastries, but would make a trip back just the the BEC sandwich."
"Delicious, very reasonably priced baked goods. I've tried and enjoyed the chocolate fudge bar (fantastic icing!), numerous cupcakes (yellow or chocolate cake with vanilla or chocolate icing), iced sugar cookies, an old fashioned donut, and more. There's a large selection of everything from breads to cakes to breakfast goods.Overall, a great spot if you're looking for something sweet in the Wyoming area."
"What a cute spot in OTR!! If you like bubble tea, this is the place for you. My husband and I each got fruit tea bubble tea on a hot day and they were delicious. I love getting a mix of tapioca and fruit pop boba for a bit of variety. It's a small shop but service is super fast and friendly. Will definitely be back--they have an extensive menu!"
"We visited here for the first time (at the recommendation of a neighbor) on Saturday, 8/10/24, for an awesome brunch. It was not at all crowded when we arrived around 9:30AM.The dining room and restrooms were very nice "wedding reception hall" decor, but it felt more like a large dining room than a reception hall. Our server was friendly and very attentive.I had the Hangover Harry ($14, buttermilk biscuit, two fresh eggs, five cheese blend, sausage gravy, topped with crumbled goetta & a side of our house hot sauce). I had eggs over easy rather than scrambled, and there were either two biscuits or two halves of one very large biscuit. I like hot sauce but did not pour it on my dish since it detracted from all the other great flavors. Overall this dish was great and extremely filling. My wife had Stuffed French Toast ($9, two pieces of our french bread stuffed with vanilla bean mascarpone, served with pure maple syrup & whipped cream) and Haus Potato Casserole ($4, shredded potatoes, creamy five cheese sauce, baked in a crispy cornflake crust). The French Toast was probably the best I ever tasted (she gave me a couple bites). It was two large slices of French Toast with mascarpone in the middle and then cut in half like two halves of a sandwich. She said the potato casserole was good, but too much to eat given the generous potions of French toast. We also ordered a Brioche Cinnamon Roll ($7) with mascarpone icing to go. It was served warm and was good heated up briefly at home, but a bit too light on cinnamon. Our total bill before tip with two soft drinks ($3 each) came to $40 plus $2.70 tax - and it was well worth it.We'll definitely be back for brunch or dinner."
"Great apple fritters and a good variety of donuts. Excellent coffee selections. Also their Kettle Danish are delicious"
"We were in town for a tournament and this was the nearest Graeter's and we were told we had to try it. For those wondering there is an inside and it's not drive thru only. But you have to enter through the Jungle Jim's store. The ice cream was delicious."
"Amazing service. Never an issue. Amazing food and service. Coffee drinks are out of this world. Garlic cream cheese croissants and Nutella curffin are out of this world. Thank you to the owners and amazing baking staff and front of house staff!"
"Stopped in to see what they offer. I was surprised to find a lunch menu handwritten on the wall and can't wait to stop in sometime soon for a meal. The ladies explained the menu changes daily. Today, I just got 4 cupcakes to try out (cookies and cream & lemon with raspberry filling. My family loved them."

I thought the pies were average. I tried the berry and apple. The crust was a little thick and not as flaky as I like. I would be interested in trying more of their products.

Lisa made our wedding cakes in 2008. A long time ago, before online reviewing was quite as ubiquitous as it is now. Every time I remember my wedding, I think of my one regret: not ordering enough cake. We ran out. It was so ridiculously good. We got two flavor combinations (lemon blueberry and chocolate raspberry) and people were taking two slices. I almost didn't get any. I am a serious home baker, so the cake was one of the most important things for me. I tasted cake from just about every bakery that does wedding cake between Dayton and Cincinnati. It was a lot of hours and calories of research. So crazy that we ended up with Lisa, a home bakery just a few minutes up the road from where I grew up.She's very professional, tons of experience, and really, the cake just tastes amazing.

Best. Glazed. Donuts. This place is awesome -- it's small, but they have a really solid selection of donuts. I'd highly recommend the peanut butter donuts!

What an unexpected gem in downtown Cynthiana! A menu including food, dessert, and a full bar. The service was great and the atmosphere is incredible for gathering with friends and family. Check it out!

Great local bakery showcasing small batch baked goods with an ongoing rotation of seasonal favorites. I had a breakfast sandwich that was absolutely delicious - with tons of cheese, surprisingly fluffy eggs and bacon. I took it back to the office and as suggested - nuked it in the microwave for 90 seconds to warm it up. Hindsight being 20/20 I probably would have only done 60sec in the future - that way it's easier to eat sooner, and probably won't overcook the croissant.

Whatever they used to fry the glazed twist doughnut in tasted bad. Not sure if the oil was old, but had a very bad aftertaste in my mouth. Donuts look great! Wish it would've tasted like it looked. It also needed more icing.

Insane menu with tons of options many are unique! Beautiful handmade desserts. The drinks are made with high quality ingredients; it took me a few hours to finish my drink and it didn't get all gross and squishy before I finished it. Staff is super nice too! I got the biscoff cookie bubble tea and my husband got a fruit tea (he isn't a big bubble tea guy but really enjoyed his, it had blueberry popping boba!)

We greatly enjoyed our first visit. As a parent, the first thing I loved was the plethora of games families could grab and play at the table while waiting for their meals. Our 8 year old enjoyed a competitive game of Yahtzee. My scrambled egg was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed eating it piled on the English muffin. I normally prefer thin pancakes, but these were thick - lightly crispy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside, and I think, now my favorite local pancake. I don't recommend paying extra for fruit on them - it wasn't much for the added cost. The sausage and gravy was delish and my husband I shared it - 3/4 to him as it was a lot of food! I tried a bite of my hash brown casserole and liked it but packed it to go as at this point we were stuffed!I was concerned it would be really loud due to how open the space was without walls to break up the space but it was pleasantly peaceful We will be back! And maybe next time, I will win the game of Yahtzee!Ps the dessert case looked delish

"Thank you, Tina for your fast response and delivery of a spice cake with cream cheese frosting! My friend thoroughly enjoyed his 30th birthday cake. Said it was moist. Delivery was only $5. Very reasonable prices. She was amazing. Highly recommend."
"Easy to find with on street parking. Ambience of small town cafe with big city decor. Fast & friendly service. I can see many locals find this place home. Ordered 3 egg cheese omelet $7.99. Folded the way it should be!!"
"Cute bakery. Variety of different baked goods. My boys loved their iced cookie & gingerbread cookies. Things were well priced. The store was clean. We enjoyed visiting and would stop back in when we are in Liberty."
"Best Chicken and Tuna Salad I've had. Homemade loaves of bread and their homemade cookies are the best."
"What a please surprise . Cute storefront , decadent pastries and friendly staff . Everything was just Amazing"
"This local business is fantastic. Always friendly and helpful. Their pies are amazing and their quiches are delish! Get there early because they sell out quick some days. You can also place special orders for pick up with 48 hour advance notice. Do t forget to order your pies for Thanksgiving!!!"
"$4.90 for the best chocolate chip cookie?! Umm, yes. I'm normally the gal who 100% looks for a deal, but I have no problem paying almost 5 bucks for the most delicious chocolate chip cookie. In fact, I have searched Cincinnati high and low for the best chocolate chip cookie... and hands down, this is it. Okay, is it a little pricey? Probably. But is it worth it? Uh-huh. When you walk in, it feels like a boutique. It's all bright colors, and there is an area where you can place your order or wait to be called upon if you placed an order in advance. Before you leave with your cookie or literally cookies-- you are showed what is in the box...and gee, that box is heavy! The chocolate chip cookie I got was definitely still warm. It's one of those things that I don't mind paying a little bit more for, especially if I plan to nibble on it as a treat or (even!) eat it in one sitting. This is definitely not something I would do on a normal basis, but if I am in mood for a treat, I would check this place out. It also makes a great gift! In fact, I heard about this boutique version of cookies, because one of my students brought these in as a treat for us teachers. What a cool gift! PS: They now have a location in the heart of Deerfield Towne Center. This business is closed on Sundays, but they release on Sunday the cookies they will be featuring during the week, as the cookies they bake rotate. Typically, they still run a version of a chocolate chip cookie and a sugar cookie each week. Check them out!!"
"I was looking for someone that could make cookies for the Super Bowl for my mega Chiefs fan boyfriend. I emailed Inspiring Kind, they called me right away to discuss what I wanted. A lot of bakeries won't let you do a variety of shapes for just a dozen cookies, but they have no limit on shapes per dozen! They did such an amazing job, and the price was awesome! I'm so pleased with their work, timeliness, and artistic ability. If you need custom cookies, or want a sweet treat, check out Inspiring Kind Bakery."
"Great find on our stop back from VT to OK! Wonderful cafe latte, chocolate milk, French toast, blueberry muffin, & apple turnover. Worth the stop, antique atmosphere, and close to the highway."
"Had an awesome burrito today. Love their salsa, which is purposefully thin and very strong. Was impressed by the meat selection and vast freezer case. The restaurant is not what you're going to get at Taco Bell or Las Pyramidas, which is very Anglicized. Look at it as an opportunity to learn something about how actual Mexican and South American people eat!!"
"I had the privilege of having LaDawn make my wedding cake , when I first started planning I had it set in stone that no one else could make my cake except her and she delivered! Everything I dreamt of and more , I could never imagine ordering a cake for any special event unless it's done by LaDawn"
"Order some amazing cookie tarts for curbside pickup! We can't stress this enough, they were divine!!!"
"I debated leaving a review, but I think I'm being fair and since it's a new business, I think it's important to share. I went in to this new bakery because I really felt I needed to find the perfect cake to celebrate a 60th anniversary for my wonderful in-laws. Springfield has very few options but I had very high hopes that it'd be great and I wouldn't have to go to Beavercreek or wherever to get this special cake. I knew I didn't want to transport a 2 tier cake but needed a cake large enough for 30-40 people. The sample she showed me (below w/ cutting instructions) looked like it was a good choice. One large cake with "Happy 60th Anniversary" written on it. What I got was "Happy 60 Anniversar" Also not very elegant looking writing. I think even I could've possibly done a better job. Our get together was on a Sunday, but the owner of the shop had a bridal shower so I'd have to pick it up Friday, 2 days prior. That was fine so I brought my son so he could carry and hold the cake until I got it home. Luckily we have an extra fridge and it wasn't a problem. He noticed it immediately as well, I really was kind of surprised it looked this way. I hoped it wouldn't be noticeable but it definitely was. Every one immediately noticed the "y" missing and commented "where's the 'y'?" - actually it was covered up with flowers and noticed it also sounded odd, Happy 60 anniversary instead of 60th. The owner didn't point out the covered up "y" and actually when I said 'where's the y'? She made no apology or offered to fix the issue. If this was a $50 Walmart cake I think they would've offered to correct it in some way but $145 cake ( plus 4% service charge-not sure what that's about), I just felt it could've looked more professional. The cake itself was pretty good. It fed the party but in hindsight I probably should've asked for some correction."
"Located in Franklin, this place was a hidden gem. Me and my wife were headed to Zinks meat market and were looking up pastrami sandwich restaurants. It was National hot pastrami day and we like doing things like that. She mentioned that Calypso Cafe and Bakery was right around the corner. She had found it on the Facebook Cincinnati Chowdown page for pastrami sandwich recommendations. This place is amazing. Wanting a hot pastrami sandwich, we also got a Jamaican beef patty, and curry chickpeas. Not at all what I was expecting. The sandwich was fantastic. The chickpeas were fantastic. The beef patty was fantastic. They also have sorrel which is a hibiscus drink. It was very tasty. My wyalso got a brownie cookie thing which was really good. Their menu is very Caribbean which isn't something you'd expect in downtown Franklin. So glad we stopped in. Its definitely not a secret gem anymore and I'll definitely return. Have to try their jerk chicken salad, and their jerk chicken entree. Oh yeah, and beans and rice."
"This location is not closed. Yelpers are incorrect. I ate there today. Actually I'm here right now"
"Great food and great personal service in a relaxing quiet environment. We ate at the main library location and were quite pleased with the quality food."
"We also go to Amycakes for all of our occasions and have been extremely happy with them. Stopping in the shop for cakes, cookies and macaroons you will not be disappointed either."
"A small local owned bakery in Dayton. I tried cup cakes and they were good. The frosting was excellent but the cake was a tad bit dry. The staff were friendly and polite. There is few street parking spots available."
"First time at this bakery. Can't wait to go back. Great looking bakery case. Cream horns and other baked goods we tried were fantastic! I live about 25 miles away and would drive there for just this bakery. The staff were very helpful and so pleasant. Small, quaint atmosphere."
"Great little spot for a coffee and a breakfast bite. Super friendly staff that were extra accommodating to our pup."
"OMGWe needed a specially designed cookie and Jen hit it out of the park both in design and taste!"
"If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!! I am so picky when it comes to cake and A Spoon Fulla Sugar literally knocked every flavor out of the park. All of their flavors are very moist! We ended up using them for our wedding and with COVID and having to reschedule to another date they were very flexible. They did a great job with working with our budget and giving many recommendations so that we could have the cake we wanted. I showed them a picture of what I wanted it to look like and they were great south saying without color swatches they couldn't promise the exactly color, I wasn't picky with color so I didn't sent that end but it ended up looking just like the photo (but I bet it tasted better ) We had so many compliments at our wedding and a few of our friends used them for their kids first birthday cakes after trying them! My husband and I both highly recommend getting your cake for any occasion at Spoon Fulla Sugar!"
"First I wouldn't consider this place a bakery. I knew they had won the cupcake wars on food network. Big deal, a cupcake is a cupcake, right? I figured (having not seen the show) it was how they decorated it. A person at work gave a strawberry cupcake from here. Oh my God was it good. The cake was fresh, moist, flavorful and soft. The icing was smooth and not too sweet. By smooth I mean it tastes like they beat the icing overnight. On my next trip past the bakery I stopped hoping for another strawberry or German chocolate that I'd seen. I was told they only sell German chocolate in fall/winter but I just saw one last week. Must of been a extra from a special order - oh. Strawberry? Nope didn't make any of those. I looked over the selection a got a lemon and a double chocolate. They were delicious. Just like the first one. Perfect! I was later told I should have gotten the white wedding cupcake. Oh well, next trip. I deducted a star because of the service. My first visit and I didn't feel welcomed, more like I was a bother to sell ONLY 2 cupcakes. Plus I didn't know what I wanted (how awful), even though they didn't have what I came in for."
