This building has underwent many transformations in the last twenty years. It is no longer a bookstore, but a wonder stop any time of day. They have a dessert case for any special occasion/ celebration or eating your feelings. The hummingbird cake and apple dumplings are like sweet little Grandmas made back in the day. They also have sandwiches and a lunch menu. This pups be a great place to curl up and read the paper or catch up with friends. There is also a bar if you like to eat alone. The atmosphere is as great as the food.

I really wish I could give 5 stars, because the food, coffee & treats are delicious. But the service is horrible, if not curt & rude. On two separate occasions I put in a food/drink/dessert order and part of it was the chai tea. Both times I had the same brown haired waitress and she rolled her eyes at me when I got around to ordering the chai. Both times. And then I was ignored. I had no understanding of why I got eye rolls and a huge sigh out of her. I wasn't rude and I was nice and civil. Is chai tea not listed on the menu? It was when I placed these orders. Having worked in the restaurant service industry myself while in college, I would've never done this to a customer. Since this most recent time of rudeness, I have stopped going there. It is a shame that one person ruined this establishment for me, not once, but three times. I am quite befuddled why I was treated with such contempt when I was simply ordering from the menu. One of the times in particular that I came in to place a to-go order, and was treated like dirt, I had just got back into town from getting daily out of town cancer treatment and was starving. Brian's Bistro used to be my favorite place to eat and I really wanted a sandwich, soup, cookies and chai tea to take home and relax with. When I got to telling the waitress writing up my order I also wanted a chai tea she slammed down her pen, gave a huge sigh and rolled her eyes. That upset me greatly. Almost brought me to tears. I had come in as a nice, civil and patient customer. And a cancer patient at that. I was not being mean and was being pleasant. But that had been the second time this lady treated me this way. As a former service industry worker, I know the demands of food service, but not once have I ever treated a customer that way. I am a highly patient and tolerant person, but her treatment towards me, enraged me and I told her to forget my order and I'd never be back due to her. I have never been treated so horribly in a restaurant/cafe EVER! If I would have ever done that in a job I'd be written up. I am not sure how others have had good service at Brian's Bistro, because I haven't.

The only coffee bar in Fayette County. Yes one can get coffee any where but no where will you meet others who share the same enthusiasm for supporting local business owners and GREAT coffee.

Kudos to Brian's mom, who goes above and beyond with sharing her cooking and baking skills with our community. Satisfying soups, and a nice variety of sandwiches. Check out the daily specials and don't forget the baked goodies- the best in town.

What a fantastic stop in Connersville! It was my first time at Brian's today and the food was great, but second to the food was the atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and nice. They have daily homemade specials and the prices are extremely reasonable. I left full, but next time plan on trying some of their coffee and deserts.

If you can find a place that has good black coffee, you've found a gem! Brian's not only has smooth, rich coffee, but also delicious desserts and other baked goods that will make even the most rigid health nut sneak in more cheat days during the week. I've gotten the chance to try their biscuits and gravy as well as their grilled chicken bacon panini; both of which were astounding! It is not a place meant for a quick eat, I highly recommend taking your time to soak in the atmosphere and relax. Embracing a slower pace is a lost art form, but Brian's allows for this discipline to be practiced with ease.Free tip: the bourbon pecan torte is one of the best specialty coffees that I have had the pleasure of enjoying.
