Boonedocks Pub & Grub

Returning from Bigbone Lick State Park, stopped in at Boonedocks to see what it was all about. Had the burger and fries, burger was done well, came with all the toppings, fries were really good. Nice, crispy and tasty. Price was reasonable. Portions were great. Service was on their game even though it was pretty busy. Definitely will return.

It's named for Boone County, and it's out in the boondocks. Well off the beaten path but 100% worth the detour. This place is so country, and oozing with Kentucky hospitality. There's plenty of seating and good country music surrounding you. Plenty of high tops in the big bar room and there's a second dining area set off with low tables.We sat at the bar and were served by Candida who alerted us that it was $9 burger day - all burgers plus a side for $9 instead of $11 or $12. My husband had the Boonedocks Burger with side of broccoli. Burger was fresh, big and tasty and he was so pleased they cooked the broccoli nice and soft as he likes it. The sliders were the most generously sized ones I've ever seen. Pretzel bites were the bomb.There's chalk boards all around with specials info, featured items, clever commentary and some artwork. Behind the bar the board informs you of the WiFi password and the name of the bartender on duty. Brilliant! The bar has purse hooks. So convenient!Atmosphere, comfort, food, service, staff, all was top notch. If we pass this way again would return for sure.

This restaurant is as simple, down-home, and fun as it gets. Located on US 42 right at the interesection with the road to Big Bone, it's an easy, recognizable, casual, and convenient meeting place. Very spacious and both a table and bar area. Waitresses were Johnny-on-the spot and friendly. The food was generally bar food (what else would it be in a bar? The Maisonette? :) ) Service was quick, food was hot, and the burger is probably their best item. If you have any outstanding warrants, just FYI. You DO have to get used to the siren that briefly goes off when an order is ready in the kitchen. No, they're not coming to get you. LOL~ Prices always seem to enter into every restaurant these days and their prices are really no better or worse that any other comparable restaurant---everything is going up in price. Just deal with it and have fun !!

We were at the Blue Licks State Park campsite nearby for a weekend. One evening we felt lazy and didn't want to make dinner at the campsite, so we came here. It was a little loud and flashy inside (lots of televisions and we had our kid with us), so we choose to eat outside on the patio. Although Boondedocks is basically a sports bar, we were impressed with the food we ordered. All our meals were delicious and filling -- just the right amount of food for each of us! We were happy with our drinks too.If we camp in the area again, we'll grab another meal here!

Horrible service. We sat at the bar & the three gals behind the bar went out of their way to ignore us. Wouldn't even make eye contact.

We stopped in here on our from Belleterra to Rabbit Hash when we were out on our motorcycle. We had breakfast and bloody Mary's. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and friendly. I had the biscuits and gravy. The drinks were tasty and The food was good! The only negative I would comment is that my husbands meal was $18 but not really $18 worth of food. It was the mammoth breakfast. But just a regular breakfast plate with a side of one biscuit/gravy. The food was good. But that plate at least was pricey than it should have been. Overall GREAT service and nice ambience. Very cool inside which was awesome on a hot morning.

We had great night at Boonedocks. Listen to good music alive, had great food. People are very nice also.

The food was great. We were there at lunch on a Wednesday and only one waitress with 2 cooks. Took a little longer for our group of 13 but very friendly and worth the wait. You could tell it was favored by the locals so that showed it a good stop. It was clean not your noisy pub.

Food was just ok. My husband got the chili burger and didn't really care for the chili, almost like it was old. The bar is spacious or you can sit outside on the patio. If I come back it'll be to drink at least the beer is cold. I got the beef salad to go bc we were already to go by the time I got the food. It was good but it didn't look very pleasant.Overall I can't recommend this place unless you are complacent with room temperature bar food. If you don't mind that then this is your hole.

I give 1 star because Ashley and Taylor are fantastic. As for the rest of the staff and ownership, not so much. This is now the FORTH and final time I've left without eating because it took so long. For a hoagie!! I sure hope your patio or whatever dumb shit your building brings in the customers your looking for because your food service definitely will not!! This place has gone downhill since the new owners took over. Damn shame. I can assure you that my friends, family, and myself will never step foot back in there. Total waste of time. Good luck on your volleyball court. Hopefully they eat before they get there lolShould just be called Boonedocks Pub n no grub.
