Black Horse Tavern

Everything went well. Timing to get seated, service and food was all excellent. Our toddler did well with the wixi stix toy. The baby was able to nibble on some fries , my fried chicken was superb with just enough seasoning and fell off the bone. What's pictured is the lamb shank my boyfriend got and it fell off the bone. Everything was just right. Our toddler got the grilled cheese and fries. My vegetables tasted like they had just been picked from the garden. I tried the cranberry apple cider cocktail and it was good, but tasted a little watered down or needed more flavor to it. That was my only complaint but not a big one. The ambiance was farmhouse and rustic, I loved the wooden staircase and you feel the antiquated atmosphere from the 1800's.

Very disappointed with the food, got the roast turkey, dressing was tasteless and so dry could not eat, Shepherd's pie, was way too soupy, had too much gravy, and some of the spices over powered the over all tast. And way over priced for what you get, second rate food. What a shame, in the past this was the place to go, not anymore. Sad won't be back. Our waitress was having trouble remembering anything, had to keep sending her back for stuff.Over all a bad experience. And I'm not picky, but sometimes things are just not good. ): ...

I'm the Golden Lamb Hotel, the Tavern is a bit more casual than the Golden Lamb dining room. Though they both have the same menu, just had a drink here before moving to the main dining room. They feature really unique cocktails and local craft beers. Cheers!

Happened upon this gem. We were in town for the Western & Southern Open tennis and we're happy to enjoy some good comfort food. The turkey is delicious in any way shape or form. Mom tried the sticky burger with peanut butter and loved it. Wish we could have substituted the fries for cheese curds but oh well! Waiter was delightful and the place was nice and cold.

I really love the vibe of Black Horse Tavern. It's like the masculine counterpart to The Golden Lamb--all dark wood, dim lighting featuring emerald light-esque lamps. It has an impressive bar, a fireplace that is lit on most chilly days and a gorgeous patio seating area offering a view of downtown Lebanon. They have a lovely cocktail list (my favorite is the Bee's Knees) and a menu with something for everyone. They make a truly incredible salmon. My go-to order is to get their signature salad and add salmon to the side. So delicious. The price point is accessable and seating very intimate.This is a spot I almost always bring out of towner's to eat and I think it really sparkles as one of Lebanon's best spots.

Was a super nice place, but again it's not much different than the golden Lamb, which owned the restaurant it seem like everything was like a Thanksgiving holiday food and I don't care for that except during the holidays

Blown away by Black Horse Tavern! Hands down best burger I've had since Wildflower Cafe used to be a restaurant!Went here on a Saturday at lunchtime. Based on parking lot, was a bit nervous about the wait...nope! Seated right away in a lovey cozy back room with a roaring fireplace and seasonal decor. Ambiance is sometimes just as important as the food! ;)I have to say, this is in some ways, better than dining at The Golden Lamb: same amazing food, faster service, no reservations.The waitress hustled, and was some of the best service we've had in a while...very impressive.Ok, the food. The lamb burger exceeded my expectations, so many flavors working harmoniously together, so fresh, even the bun was well thought out and cooked well. Still dreaming of that burger a week later... and the creamy balsamic on the side salad *chef's kiss*Ended the meal with pink peppermint patty gelato...oh wow. Haven't had gelato in about a decade, and this made me question why I stopped. The perfect end to a meal. Also went well with my chocolate stout. :)If you want a far greater than average meal fast, dine here. It is well worth it! If I could, I'd dine her monthly!

The mushroom dish it spectacular and one of us between me and my wife get it every time. Wish I could remember what I had exactly but beef slow simmered in some type of wine sauce was spectacular. Decent burgers. Staff is always nice. Good draft list - last time I went I had Christmas ale in July.

Great Food Shepherds Pie is great. My Granddaughter loves the Chicken FingersWonderful service Warm and friendly atmosphere!

Great time! Wanted to share the BHT with an out of town guest ... she loved the experience!! As always, great food, pleasant atmosphere and especially a wonderful waitress!!!
