Running early morning errands landed me at Whities Auto Care in Obryonville (review to come later) and we needed early early morning coffee... simple. It's across the street from Ripple in the middle of Obryonville. It was spacious and clean. It also has a lower level with a couple of sofas, a mini bar and flat screen. It also has a decent amount of outdoor seating. I make note of these things because I'm always looking for places to have venues for my Meetup group. When we first arrived there was only one guy there, the a few dudes showed up taking all loud. But hey, that's what you do in a coffee/pub. LOLThat being said:Oatmilk Mocha she loved it Cinna-Honey was good, coulda been sweeter.Tonic water was needed by me.I'm gonna have a Meetup there at some point. Our barista said that unfortunately people don't take advantage of Happy Hour here, which is silly because this place is very nice!Y'all check out Bean & Barley.

We had a bridal shower for my sister over the summer and the venue was wonderful! The team was so helpful and responsive. Everyone thought the drinks and empanadas were amazing. Highly recommend for your next event!

Food: 1/5- Expresso Martini was made with coffee concentrate instead of actual expresso. This blew my mind since Bean and Barley is a literal coffee shop. This is the first Expresso Martini I've had that was out right bad, takes like rubbing alcohol with stale office coffee.- Aperol Sprtiz was so sweet and thick, tasted like just the syrup in the cup.Total prior to tip: $30Service: 4/5- Prompt and friendly.Ambiance: 3/5- Not horrible but overall unimpressive. Tables were very sticky and the bench was covered in crumbs.I will never come back for cocktails but may come back to give the coffee a try (fingers crossed they don't pull out the coffee concentrate bottle).

We we're meeting some people at Obryans but stopped here for a quick drink. My husband had been here before, but this was my first time! Really cool place, with a very eclectic mix of drinks to consume- coffee, beer, wine, cbd drinks! The bartender was very nice and knowledgeable. She also let me try a few beers before I went with a Kolsch. I was delighted to see they had brunch too, so we'll have to come back- who doesn't love trying a new brunch spot!

Bean & Barley is a small neighborhood coffee shop in O'Bryonville, walking distance from the BonBonnerie and Lilypad (indoor play area for kids). I've been a few times with friends and I love that it has so many windows for natural light and an outdoor patio. My one critique is a wish the seating was more comfortable. As someone with a back injury, it's actually kind of hard finding coffee shops with comfortable seating (aka seats with cushioned backs) for sitting and working on a project for hours (most places have a couch or something but nothing else). Here they do have cushioned window seats but they do not have backs. That being said, the coffee here is pretty good and you can also get a beer on tap if you'd rather have that. It's a good place to come for someone who wants options. I typically get their Berry Oat Latte which is an oatmilk latte with berry syrup and it is tasty! They also offer some pastries and options for gluten free snacks as well.

I looovveee it here. There is an upstairs right when you walk in (which required you to navigate one stair - just fyi if mobility/accessibility is on your list - they might have a ramp available but I'm not sure). They have a patio with seating out back and a downstairs area with seating (neither of which I explored). I think there are 6ish tables upstairs for seating and a generous amount of bar space - all equipped with plugs if you're there to do some work. Nice, spacious, and clean bathrooms too (they are "gendered" but are one person). The background music made my little millennial heart happy and was at a respectable background noise level - unlike so many places where it is simply noise to be shouted over. Acoustics were decent as at one point there were three different parties of people conversing and it was not overwhelming in terms of noise level. EXCELLENT space to catch up with a friend or two and also a great space to get some work done.Staff was very friendly and had great recommendations. Croissant pastry was delicious. They serve deeper roots coffee (which I want to love, but don't) and I got a latte that was made perfectly (just doesn't fit my personal desired flavor profile). But honestly, this is such a good spot I would pay just to hang out here... luckily you can also order an adult beverage if the mood so strikes you or if you aren't a coffee drinker. I would love to see them offer a few mocktail too but I'm sure if you have a hankering they'd be happy to fix whatever you wanted.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bean and Barley, and I must say, it was an absolute gem of a find!I lived in the area and was looking for a local coffee shop that can be my goto. They have a wide selection of coffee option, both from local roasters and abroad. They offer most of the favorites you'll find in different coffee shops, but they offer some local variations. They also cary local pastries that are brought in daily. They also have a section for beers, with plenty of option on tap. They surely will have a beer you might like. The beers come from different breweries from ohio, so you get a taste of local offerings. Its a great spot to hang out and study since it keeps a low profile through the day. It does get louder at night when people switch over to beer. I have had the pleasure of studying there and also winding down with friends. They have an upstairs and downstairs area, so plenty of seating. They offer games downstairs such as connect four and jenga. Despite the name, they also offer wine and mixed drinks, so they have something for everyone. I don't know if dogs are always allowed but I do see them inside from time to time. I think its the best chill bar that I have experienced. The service has been wonderful and I always felt welcomed. It felt peaceful and relaxing to drink Bean or Barley!
