Local meat, deli counter, dairy case, local bread/baked goods, local jellies & pickles. Kitchen and pantry items notably from many small and independent companies. I rejoiced to find a package of New York Bagels from a small, proudly non-GMO bakery in New Jersey. I have also been searching for Red Gold ketchup for months and found it at Barnes. The store has been open I think about one year. I popped in here back then and meant to add them to Yelp but I never did. Making up for that today. They seem to be still in development as far as the range of products besides meat and deli. I heard they ran fresh produce last summer but didn't make enough sales on that and product went to waste. They may or may not bring that back. There is plenty of space in this store, a former IGA market, so hopefully their offerings will expand over time. If there was ever a small business to support, this is it. This town, and really a huge radius around it, badly needs a Mom and Pop grocer and butcher. I pass this way on many a Sunday and will make it a point to stop in here even if just for milk or cold cuts.Open every day but Monday and there's plenty of parking.

Great local butcher shop.So far we have gotten 40lbs of bulk bacon, 60lbs of bulk chicken (breast, thighs and wings), a pork butt, pork chops, random seasonings and we are getting a prime rib for Christmas. Their service has always been excellent. Every time I call or go in someone has taken the time to answer all of my questions and explain the different cuts of meat and why one might be better than the other, why we might want this size vs that size, why this one might do better in a smoker, etc. The service is everything you could hope for from a knowledgeable butcher. And so far, all of the meat has been great. Honestly, I can't recommend them enough.

Recently had a cow butchered with Barnes and it was by far one of the worst experiences, it turned into a 5 week turn around, and the total amount of processed meat was well below the industry standard. Our cow live weight was 1451 lbs and the hanging weight was 871 lb ended up with roughly 450lbs of finished product ( going by their individual weight tags) Which is significantly lower than the industry standard, when we compare what we received from other butchers in the past with similar weight. We requested the fat from our cow ( to make our own tallow) and we received only the meat cut offs vs the good leaf fat. Not to mention the two halves didn't even look like they came from the same cow, I know there are differences but usually not as drastic as what we are seeing. ( only know what halves they were because we split the cow with our son so he had his own half and cut sheet) we also requested the liver and received 3 -small packages of liver that each had 2 sticker labels on each of them and under the top label that was supposedly our butcher date was other labels each ranging with dates over 2 months apart. I called the shop with my concerns and got nothing but a run around. With no regards where leaf fat or reason for getting old off the shelf liver. If you choose to use this butcher shop for your needs use caution I will not be going here again and hope no one else has this kind of experience
