Bambooz Bar & Grill

I mean, come on guys. It's called Bambooz! It pretty much sets the expectations before you even step inside the door. Which isn't to say that's a bad thing! Bambooz isn't trying to be anything it knows it is not. One of our favorite things to do is seek out dive bars that we normally wouldn't know about. We've passed by this Panda Bear toting bar probably 50 times and never took the next step and visited. Well, we finally did and I have to say, I was actually pleasantly surprised. First and foremost, I wouldn't call it a dive bar after actually going in. It is definitely as their name suggests, more of a bar and grill. It's a fairly large space and looks to be in decent condition. There are TV's everywhere so it's great for watching sports. A huge plus is that they have dart boards which is our favorite bar activity. And these were in seriously good condition. Unexpectedly so. So that was a great surprise.Everything else is as you would expect. Drink prices are reasonable with a few options on draft, nothing spectacular but there are at least options. They also have bar food with daily specials (wings, burgers, etc) that was exactly what you'd think - bar quality (they've got tator tots FTW). There is an interesting "Wheel of Specials" on the wall that the bartender spins every so often. I'm still not entirely sure how it works but it was definitely amusing. And best (or worst) of all is the "shot-ski". One wooden ski. Four holes cut out to hold shot glasses. Everyone lifts said ski to their mouth at the same time to drink the shot. Yeah. That happened.Look, I'm not saying this place is for the "classier" crowd or anything. I am 100% certain the average tooth count per person plummets on Friday and Saturday nights. And I am positive it gets rowdier and smokier during peak hours. I can guarantee that "Specials Wheel" goes into full on overdrive when it gets busy. But I didn't go during those times. And for me it is worthy of the 4 stars because I had a good time. And that is all that matters.

I was told this place had good boneless wings so we decided to try it. I should have checked yelp reviews before I went. The service was awful we waited 10 minutes to order and when we did waitress didn't write it down so rechecked order multiple times before heading off. About 5 minutes later she returns with a beer and some forks but forgets two peoples waters. Another 5 minutes and she delivers our wings without fries and still no waters. Finally after asking the waters come and we can finally eat. But in course of meal we ran out of beer and water. At this point we resorted to going to bar to get our own refills. Now to good points the boneless wings are on special on Monday they are huge and they give you a lot of them. They do drown them in sauce so if you don't like wet wings these may not be for you. Also the fries were good. This is a smoking bar. All in all I would do take out maybe for value and quantity but won't. BE back to eat in.

Great wings and varying selection of other bar foods for game deys for the Bengals, Reds, March Madness, and Hockey. Beers are in bottles but you can ask for a chilled glass. Great hospitality and nice bartenders. karaoke on the weekend and a great community of pool players. There is a TouchTunes jukebox here too that is on when there isn't karaoke.

These people can't even make chicken tenders right. The drinks are ok but the service is awful. Rude bartenders for a place so small and dive Barish. If you have any class forget about it this place will suck it right out of you. Newport trash at its finest. Good people watching though.

I've been a regular customer for about a year. Food and drinks are priced fairly and overall a good neighborhood bar. However, Most recently I have encountered a staff who has, on two separate occasions, taken my cash and then charged my credit card. I did not authorize these charges and am currently disputing it with my bank. I tried to rectify my dispute with the owner but he would not decide in my favor. It was the same bartender. I believe she is pocketing my cash and subsequently charging my card (it was on file). I don't expect to return to this establishment based on the dishonest behavior of one female staff and will warn others about this.
