You can see my reviews here for Evans Bakery, which occupied this space since Noah was a kid. I've been loving Baker Benji's since they took over the space but haven't thought to review. I'm a donut guy and love them here. Simple glazed or a nice Boston Cream. I don't need the gluten free or vegan options they offer but I love that they are available for those who do. I haven't ordered a cake but the artistry they display is impressive. I love that they are continuing the tradition of supporting our community.

We went here this morning and everything we purchased was delicious. The gentleman that waited on us was very good at describing the items and told us which were the best sellers. They had a good selection of vegan items as well. Highly recommend.

We stopped in at the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. It has the feel of a bakery I grew up with in Springfield before they became commercialized. I've tried other bakeries vegan options and they always been disappointing that is not the case here. I got a mix of cookies and doughnuts and we shared them and they were all absolutely delicious. We're excited to try more of their baked goods.

Delicious cookies and donuts in Old North Dayton. I sampled them at the National Night Out.

Small mom and pop shop. Parking can be a little challenging. Otherwise, the bakery has a little of everything, all of which looked very traditional. The staff was very accommodating, even offering to make a blackberry filled donut on the spot. (Thus it is no Dunkin' Donuts, thankfully. ) My first bite was like being transported back to grandma's kitchen. Definitely with the stop. Why not 5 stars, if the fillings were homemade this place would be a wonder of the world.

Since, I moved to Ohio, I was worried on not finding the food places I enjoy. When I looked up this place for donuts, the reviews people wrote about Evans, weren't kidding. I felt comfortable knowing that the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about donuts, cakes, and breads. Their apricot danish brought me back home and the orange cream filled donut made my morning with a hot cup of coffee ^_^

Just moved to Dayton and was looking for a bakery offering good bread. Stopped in here and am very happy - there wasn't a great selection at about noon on a Tuesday, but the owner offered me a wheat sandwich loaf or an herb ciabatta, and she explained that she has bread in the freezer and can also bake to order if I call ahead. The ciabatta was absolutely delicious! Didn't try the sweets, but they look amazing. I'll be back for sure!

I shed more than a few tears when Bill told me that Evans Bakery would no longer be a fixture in Old North Dayton. I will miss his dinner rolls and strawberry cream cake the most. However, I will miss Bill's baking classes and professional baking wisdom more than the sweets. Kudos to Jennifer Evans for taking on the business and making people happy for sooo many years! I wish her all the best. And best wishes to Bill, whose servant leadership and passion for helping people led to the creation of some of the most successful nonprofits in the Dayton area. May your light continue to shine. Thank you, Bill, Rosemary, Jennifer, and the entire Evans Bakery family.

Extremely Happy this owner has taken over where the Evans Bakery left off. Buying the Evans Recipes is one thing but reproducing them is another and Baker Benji has come through with flying colors !Great taste, Service and old fashioned Ambiance continue on Troy Street.

Was so disappointed today .I used to love going there for doughnuts. But today was such a disappointed. New owner bought a dozen doughnuts for $15 . It was not the price but they was like day old doughnuts. Doughnuts are light and fluffy not bread with icing.
