Baba's Shawarma Grill

Baba's makes excellent gyro sandwiches and on Monday and Wednesday - they are on special at a great price! (at least at the time of this review - they were $3.99).The customer service is always friendly and the food arrives fast. Other favorites are: The Greek Salad (which you can add gyro meat too), Baba Ghanoush (simply outstanding), and Hummus. The Baba Bhanoush and Hummus are served with very fresh, warmly toasted pita. If you're dining in, this is not a fancy place. It's very simple and located in a former "Captain D's" restaurant. But, if you can look past the very casual, simple interior, the food will exceed your expectations. And if you can't, then you can always carry out or use the drive thru!

Ordered form this place on Saturday afternoon and it was a total disappoint. We ordered the MacLouba platter and a Gyro. The MacLouba tasted like nothing f but pepper and oil, it did not have chicken as described and the Gyro never arrived.I filed a complaint and did not get a refund or some sort of compensation. We don't plan on trying it out again.

I don't mean to sound harsh: Baba's didn't blow me away. It's good. It's solidly good. Nothing at Baba's I've had thus far is outside what you would expect. I guess that's my ultimate point: it's all good. Nothing amazing, nothing that dares beyond expectations. But you will leave satisfied. Service is fine, and the seats are comfortable.

Their Falafel is the best we've had since the Falafel House on MacMillan near U.C. closed decades ago. This Falafel was crunchy on the outside and soft with a lot of cumin inside. It came with a white sauce and fresh white pita bread. My husband had a Gyro, that, again, was beautifully cooked, and that came wrapped in fresh pita with a nice tzatziki sauce. I had the beef shawarma, which might have been heavy on raw onions. The meat spicing was very good. We are not a fan of Pepsi products so we drank ice water with lemon. We will certainly return.

Was seeking a Gyro and this spot popped up on DoorDash. Overall the gyro platter was excellent. The meat was flavorful. The fries were crispy and the pita was great as well. The side salad was a bit bitter so that was my one draw back, but excluding the salad I thought the dish was great. Friendly staff as well.

Great staff, greeted and order taken within first 5 minutes of being there. I felt right at home as soon as we walked in. The food is excellent, fresh and out in less than 10 minutes!! We drove from route 50 to Harrison Ave just for the food and we were not let down!!

New customer. I bought the spicy gyro and it was delicious. I've had gyros from all over and I personally am a cook with gyro experience. This may have been the best I've ever had. I also ordered the hummus with pita. The pita was perfectly toasted. If you're familiar with Palestinian vs Israeli hummus then you know the flavor and consistency difference. This was on point with Palestinian and it was wonderful. I will definitely be back to try all the other menu options.

So starting off... the parking lot was empty but it was Saturday after prime lunch time so, we stayed.We ordered and tried to pay only to be told "enjoy your food first"!!! FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL!!!! I WILL BE BACK! This place really exceeded my expectations in every way! Food was fresh and cooked perfectly!

Little family owned restaurant with great food! Everything tasted authentic, fresh, and flavorful. Definitely would recommend the fol; creamy, lemony, and the best I've ever had!

I adore this spot. Low-key, inside of the restaurant stays clean plus the food has been delicious every time I've gone.
