Hubby and I are winery lovers. This winery made number #102 for us; most of them being in the Ohio, Ky area. It was a little out of the way. When we asked if they offer a cheese tray we were told, "when I'm not busy I can offer that. But I'm busy." Uhm, ok. It wasn't like she was the only one there. There were other people working. She then poured some animal crackers in to a bowl and said, "Here. So you don't starve to death." We didn't stay long. (After all, we were hungry, lol) The wines were ok. Nothing that made us want to buy a bottle for the prices they were asking. The reason I went with 3 stars instead of two? Two wines! If you're going you just try 1. The apple. 2. Chocolate rain. Watch out- this one could get ya in trouble. Tastes exactly like a cherry cordial.

We stopped in here on the way back home from the city. Did a few tastings. The wine was not what I typically drink. The staff was quick to serve us but not overly friendly or informative. I think the owners were around but never said anything to us. We did not take home any bottles and probably won't be making another trip to this winery. With that said it was a cute spot and is perfect for sweet wine drinkers.

Atwood is part of the Back Roads Wine Trail. If you have never done it, it should be on your bucket list! I especially love doing the trail during the fall when the leaves start to turn and it's perfect patio weather. I've been to Atwood a few times now and I really love it. They are only open | Friday 5p-10p | Saturday 1p-10p | Sunday 1p-6p. In my opinion Atwood has one of the most beautiful vineyards along the trail. Although it's small, the rolling hills in the background make this place a picturesque escape. They also offer some light cheeses and gift items. What I also think Atwood does better than others is it's patio game is on point. They have really nice furniture and it is set up to stay a while. Some of the other wineries along the trail there is no where to sit or you feel like, "is this it?" Grab your gal or gal, hit the trail and make this the last stop of the day you so can milk every ounce of the sunset.P.S. Looking to get hitched? You can do it here in the vineyard and have the rehearsal in their beautiful rustic room adjacent to the tasting room.

Atwood is also part of Back Roads Wine Trail. After reading the reviews, I did not know what to expect of this place since the last couple of Yelpers experienced bad service. My friend and I still wanted to check it out. It was really packed! We went on a Saturday afternoon and they did the tasting outside, which was fine and dandy, but it was a bit windy. We were the only ones to do the tasting so we received excellent service. The lady was so friendly and attentive. The tastings were only $3.00. This is what we tried:-Chambourcin-Concord-Harvest White-Ky Barrell Red-Oh Charlie -Paige White-Preslee Red-Sunset LynnUsually wineries have oyster crackers out for customer, but they had animal crackers. Which I thought was very interesting and different. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love animal crackers, but found it very odd that they would offer that (not in a bad way). They also served Wine slushies (didn't get to try it)! Never heard of it, but they told us it was their best seller. I liked the Harvest White and ended up getting a bottle for $16.96 with tax.The grounds are gorgeous! The Farmstead is a newly renovated farmhouse dating back to the mid 1930's. The vineyards is very close to the tasting room and the patio. I really loved the landscaping and the old school decor. They also host events- weddings, rehearsal dinner, and bridal showers. We were not in the tasting room long (only to purchase our bottles and pay for the tasting). I would say that our experience was good. I was not too fond of their wines, but the employees were really down to earth. I wish there was a way to give 3.5 stars instead of 3. Give it a try!

Atwood Hill Winery was the last stop for my wife and I on the Backwoods Wine Trail. We arrived late in the day, mostly because we knew that they were still open for a while (9:00, as I recall). I saw in the previous review that the reviewer had trouble with service. If anything, we had exceptional service. That may mean that the service is just inconsistent. The owner took the time to take us on a tour of the farm house, which they rent out for parties. We enjoyed the wine, though I would concur that the semi-sweet and sweeter wines were better than the dry wines. None of them were bad, I just have a picky palette when it comes to dry wines. Drinking French, Oregon, and Washington reds will do that to you. Still, if the service isn't bad, you will have a great time if you stop in, and the wines are quite enjoyable.

Some family members and I stopped by to taste some wine June 23. The setting was lovely but the service sucked! For one thing, who that is knowledgeable about wine, pours white wine into a class that just contained red (he told me to "worsh" my glass if I did not like it, that he would not give me a clean glass). The service was anything but pleasant. We left as soon as possible.
