True Score- 2.8/5 StarsAfter a tough week, and moving back to Hamilton, we decided to order some Asian style cuisine. Asian Lantern is a small, yet awesome restaurant. Unfortunately, for me, the food just wasn't as good as the building.(Forgot to take pics so sorry for the bad one attached) I ordered the General Tso's combo with white rice, and my fiancè ordered the Orange chicken combo, but subbed the rice for lo mein noodles. Both orders of chicken suffered the same- just not enough flavor. The chicken itself is cooked VERY well, and is meaty and tender. The breading is also firm and hardly with any bristle. The problem is, the sauce just wasn't flavorful on each dish. The flavor was too faint for us. The lo mein noodles were also very bland, and pretty dry.The combos with the lo mein substitute and a can of dr pepper ran me about 21 dollars on takeout, so no tax. I'm all for supporting a local business, but the food just did not justify the price. Although, I don't think the pricing is absurd or anything.Service was great. The guy working the register was very sociable and my food was packaged very, very neatly.Facilities are the best part. Ample seating, and LOOKED clean. I got takeout, so I am not certain. Also, the sign says you can BYOB, so thats dope. I think coming here on a weeknight with some buddies to sit and hang would be ideal.Overall, pretty average. Wasn't blown away, but I would definitely give it another shot. I would describe the food as serviceable, and it really has potential to be a great little restaurant. Support small businesses, people!NOTE: Star rating based on my own formula consisting of flavor, cost, facilities, service, and overall satisfaction. Reviews are subject to change based on future visits.

Went here for lunch. Great prices and wonderful service nice atmosphere too. The Szechuan chicken was good. Egg roll was delicious and the fried rice was tasty the hit and sour soup needed to be a bit more spicy to my liking. Don't be fooled by the area. The inside was nice. No liquor but you can bring wine and beer in according to a sign they posted.

Very good food. Nice atmosphere. Had the combo plates and took food home. Fair prices. They are waiting on a liquor license but you can bring your own.Good service too.

This location has been under different management off and on for years but has always looked almost exactly the same. I like the building. Probably part of that is nostalgia. The service is really the best you could ask for. It's a quiet spot that's a little dark and intimate. I love that they offer so many vegetarian and vegan options. Hamilton doesn't have a ton of that stuff available. But the food fell a little flat for me. It took me three trips to figure out what was weird and that was it. It's not spicy hot at all. I understand not everyone wants spicy and they're probably trying to appeal to the population of the area. I don't like too much spice, either, but it felt odd. I had the sesame tofu and two other noodle dishes over my visits here but nothing has hit me right yet. I'll continue to try things, though. I have a frequent buyer card, I'll user it.

I do some weekend volunteering in Hamilton and so I have been trying different restaurants in the area. I am not quite sure if I parked in the right place but this little restaurant is easy to pass by but worth stopping in. Great lunch specials and the food was hot and freshly prepared. Thank you Help for bringing this to my attention!

Food is consistently good, particularly for its price point. It's a smaller restaurant but it's everything I want out of a Chinese place. Service is great and food is in and out quick for takeout.

You've got to give them a try. I had a hard time finding a current menu online but a call to the restaurant and they texted one to me. We tried a Combo Pad Thai and Chicken Lo Mein. The Pad Thai was a perfect "medium" heat and had that great sweet/savory/peanut taste you crave with Pad Thai. The Lo Mein has tender noodles and a delicious sauce that is one of the best I've had. Like I said you gotta give them a try - great food at reasonable prices!

It's been a very long time since I've been here. It was fabulous! Entrees we're very good (cashew chicken and combo fried rice) but the egg rolls and crab Rangoon were out of this world. Great service and very quick. This will be my go-to in Hamilton for Chinese, I want to try the whole menu.
