This was my first visit to Aji Ichiban, and overall, it was a positive experience! When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly quiet, with just one other large party dining. Our waitress was fantastic--very attentive and helpful, suggesting several dishes that turned out to be great choices.We started with fried calamari and fried shrimp gyoza as our appetizers. Both came out steaming hot and smelled amazing. While I'm not a fan of calamari, I tried a piece because it looked so good--the batter was crispy and perfectly seasoned. My shrimp gyoza was a winner, with a light sear on one side that added a wonderful texture.For our main dishes, I had shrimp and chicken hibachi, while my date went for steak hibachi. Each meal included mushroom soup and a side salad. The soup was served piping hot and packed with flavor, and the salad featured a fresh mix of crispy vegetables.The hibachi dishes were generous in portion size--definitely enough for leftovers. They came with onions, zucchini, and mushrooms as the accompanying vegetables. While the flavors were good, I found the vegetables to be overcooked, lacking the crisp bite I prefer.Overall, my date and I enjoyed our visit to Aji Ichiban. The attentive service and flavorful dishes made for a great dining experience, and we're looking forward to coming back for another meal!

We are so thrilled Aji Ichiban opened in this new location where the old Washington Platform restaurant used to be! Their "yummy-Yummy sauce is simply the best! Hibatchi shrimp and Hibatchi chicken with shrimp are our favorites and their fried rice is so great! The ambiance is very cozy with booths and tables and they have a full bar with a nice wine selection. Everything is new and clean. They don't cook in front of you but bring the food to your table. I think I like this better. They have a private room with a karaoke machine and can host private parties. This is a family owned business and they treat you like family. Warning - that yum-yum sauce is totally addicting! Highly recommend the new Aji Ichiban!!

Great Food! Empty on a Friday NightWe went to Aji last night for the first time. We had some gift cards to spend since one of our clients did the electric for them. There were 7 of us and wondered if we would get in on a Friday night at 7:00. My friend made a reservation. We used to eat at this building all the time when it was Washington Platform and loved it. When we all arrived - there was only another couple at a booth and bar had 2 people. We were very surprised and wondered if the food was good. There was only one person taking orders and working the bar so service was a little slow initially taking our drink and food order. Once the drinks came - the food came out quickly and was delicious. The soup, salad and hibachi food was excellent. Large portions and very flavorful. Especially the ginger dressing for the salad was best I have had. The filet and shrimp was cooked to perfection. Server seemed disappointed we had gift cards. Of course we tipped on the full amount. After a 1/2hr we were the only ones in the restaurant. Hopefully they survive because we definitely would go back. But if it's that slow on a Friday night - it's not looking good. The Asian food festival was starting the next day. Hopefully it was the lack of parking for that setup that caused them to have a slow night. Can't survive with having no Friday night crowd. They did a great job of painting the inside and kept the same setup as Washington Platform. Again - food was excellent!

Amazing experience! Food was delicious with ample portions and the ambiance was very warm and inviting on the cold damp night we dined. What really made it exceptional though was the warmth and friendliness of the owners. You can tell how much they care that you have a great experience and by the time we left it felt like we'd made new friends!
