AJ Rahn Greenhouses

A wide selection and lots of variety. They have cacti, flowers, and carnivorous plants and many others. Many varieties seem to rotate in and out depending on the season.This is the greenhouse I go to when I want to find a plant that I didn't know I needed. It is a joy just to stroll along the rows of plants breathing in the humid, but fresh and fragrant air. The can get a little pricey, but the staff is quite helpful and often knowledgeable regarding their products. Plant care instructions could be clearer and while I don't have the greenest of thumbs I have had a few plants that didn't make it and I'm not always certain I know why.

So happy to have visited this greenhouse!! It was filled to the brim with flowers and plants of all types. The prices are pretty reasonable for plants, they also have all the potting supplies. Half the time I enjoy going to greenhouses just for the atmosphere and not to buy.I did get the pink English Daisies which I did in fact kill, but it's probably because I didn't ever repot them, oops. Would have loved to have a bit more instruction on how to care for them.This greenhouse has been around for over 200 years I'm pretty sure -crazy!

There is always a great selection of plants and shrubs here. We came to get a Christmas tree this season and the Frasier Pines are plump and soft. Their prices can be higher than surrounding plant stores, but they offer a wider selection and the staff tend to be knowledgeable about care. I do really like this place, but I wish the service was a little more direct. We don't go all that often and the checkout area/process is different every time. Sometimes you carry your plants to a table, other times it is to the checkout counter, still other times they give you a carry box. I am fine with whatever option they provide, but it always feels like I am surprising them by coming to the checkout and then, after an awkward pause, I say...I'm ready, where would you like me? I don't work there, so it would be nice to have a cashier take the lead on that. Still, it is a great place to purchase flowers, trees, and plants of all sizes.

Love this greenhouse. Such a great selection of all things green. Perennials, annuals, flowers, veggies, succulents tropicals and some fun stuff like topiaries. Have been shopping there for years and still find it a delight to look at all their varieties.

Wonderful ambience and huge selection ! Extremely reasonable prices , one of the better plant nurseries I've been to in the area . Even the staff was friendly and helpful ! Had a great tour guide to show us around for the first time :)

I visit religiously every Spring. This is a favorite of mine, AJ Rahn Greenhouse! It's absolutely a beautiful Greenhouse and there is so many varieties to choose from! From perennials to annuals and shrubs to the best variations of Roses. They have a little bit of something for everyone! Must visit at least once! Just tucked right behind Spring Grove Cemetery. It's so worth a trip!

AJ Rahn offers a variety of houseplants and succulents at reasonable prices. This place offers all of the popular houseplants -- monsteras, snake plants, string of pearls, donkey's tail, jade plants, pothos, etc. Signage is clear with plant names and care details. I appreciate the contactless checkout process. Follow the signs and leave your plants at a counter. Tap your credit card at the square reader, and you're done! I picked up two cute 4" succulents for $6.99 each. The cashier helped me place them in a paper bag so that they are safe for the car ride home. If only my apartment was big enough for more plants!

AJ Rahn always seems to have what I'm looking for whether it's perineal flowers/plants/trees/herbs, soil or planters. This is the only greenhouse/flower place that I've been able to find Vincas over the past two years. I learned today that they grow their own plants and do not ship them in. This makes total sense because their mums were outrageously beautiful. My goal today was to find items for re-potting orchids. Goal achieved plus one of the staff is a bit of an orchid expert and gave me some valuable tips. Very friendly staff! Don't forget to say hi to the greenhouse cat if you stop by.

Take all of my money, AJ Rahn! My thumb has been turning ever so slightly greener over the past couple months. I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing, which made AJ Rahn a bit of an intimidating experience (holy cow, this place is huge). When we reached the back of the first greenhouse and I saw that there was a whole other greenhouse to explore I was blown away. There were SO many plants, all looking super healthy and beautiful. I hope I can keep mine looking equally as great as they were at AJ Rahn!I especially loved the roses (which were outdoors in between the greenhouses. I had never seen roses so big and beautiful (and their strong smell was divine). It was quite muggy inside and coupled with wearing a mask, you may end up a little sweaty. It also did take about ten minutes to check out (as the line was a bit long for the register). The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I had a great time exploring all the beautiful greenery. I'll definitely be back for more!

I was looking for a nursery that sold exotic/rare/succulent indoor plants. Did my research online and found AJ Rahn Greenhouse. They've been established for 130 years with great reviews. Looked at the pictures of their plants/flowers on Yelp and was sold. My Mr and I wanted to check it out right away. They are located near Spring Grove Cemetery between Winston rd. When we got there I couldn't believe how big this greenhouse is! I was like a kid in a candy store. They had a section for outdoor and indoor plants. Quite frankly I was a little overwhelmed but in a good way. I found the plants that I was looking for. Mostly succulents which they had a good selection. They all looked healthy and you can tell the staff took great of them. I ended up spending $50.00 (5 rare/unique plants)which was cheap for everything I got included a ceramic pot. Their pricing is definitely reasonable. I would've spent more but my Mr had to stop me due to space in our home. The staff is ready to help if you need assistance and they do take extra safety precautions on the social distancing ringing you up.I am so glad I visited AJ Rahn. This won't be my last time and highly recommend this greenhouse.
