A Lil Taste Of Soul

Hamilton County employees had a good selection of food trucks this month. This was by far the most appealing and I was very happy with my food. I hope they continue the food truck and I'm excited to see their main location!

This was a very popular food truck at the Taste of Cincinnati. I loved the efficient system they had set-up: a vendor was sitting to the side of the truck, taking orders and payment. He gave me a number and the food came out fairly quickly, though there were 6 numbers ahead of me. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it was fresh and delicious, with just enough spice to the shrimp. Several weeks later, I found them at the Food Truck Rally in Union Township. I again order the shrimp and grits, and this time the portion was larger, with more ingredients. (I'm assuming that their regular dish was "downsized" for the Taste of Cincinnati). To me, the little extras -- I remember Jalapeno butter as being one --- turned a good dish into an extraordinary one.

This food truck was at the Bearcats game and what a pleasant surprise. The food was hot with a large portion with lots of great flavor. You are out and about and see these guys serving you will not go wrong with stopping and trying the great food.

The first time I had the shrimp and grits it was great! The second time I had the shrimp and grits it was decent. 3 stars for inconsistency, definitely worth trying though.

I had the pleasure of finding this truck at the Food Truck Festival at Summit Park. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was so much better than I ever expected. I don't know what they put in the sauce but it is the bomb! The shrimp was cooked perfectly...I hate overcooked chewy shrimp, and these were plump with a tender bite to them They also had some diced peppers and onions..just the right amount. Topped with sour cream. Grits were smooth and creamy and it was enough for two people. I have to say I have spent more money in restaurants for shrimp and grits, and not one comes close to the flavors in this one. I went home after eating it and thought, when will I ever get something that good again? Will I ever be able to catch this food truck? So I jumped up, got back in my truck and drove back to the festival to get another shrimp and grits for tomorrow. Yes it was seriously that good. I will be stalking this food truck in the future.

Amazing shrimp and grits! I need to find this truck again in the future because now I need this in my life. I can't wait to see what else they have!
