Cilantro's Mexican Food

Ok so the food is very good ! I thinkThe reviews are from the customer service! The lady I had was nice and the other gentleman, but the other lady was very rude to me like she did not want to work at all. However, the food was very delicious. I ordered the children tostada, and mini tj tacos which came with three. I also ordered guacamole, but the guac was very bland! The tacos and tostada was very BOMB!! I was satisfied for sure and enough food! The ambience was cool nothing quite special to me, but it was very spacious and a lot of seating for a large group. I to recommend here! It's reasonable and the food is tasty and yummy! -Marshay D.

I stopped here because the shopping center opens at 11:00, it was 10:50 and it was raining and I needed shelter for 20 minutes. They were the only place open at 10:50 . I just ordered a fish taco for a snack . Unfortunately the fish taco was filled with fresh tomatoes, cabbage and cilantro, but the fish was a tiny little piece . For $4 I expected more . On a positive note they have delicious salsa and the woman who helped me was very sweet and friendly . That was nice .

I don't know why the ratings are so low on this place so I am writing this to hopefully help fix that l. The food was hella tasty and service was quick and friendly. Not sure what else you could ask for? Also, I know it might not be traditional but I love my tacos crispy and they do them great here!

$2.99 for a water cup is completely absurd. No other words. Bought a combo that would have cost around $16 with tax and would have given the change from my $20 as a tip, but didn't tip at all after this water cup charge. If you're worried about customers getting sodas, use cleat cups for water cups.

My husband and I have stayed at viejas casino many times and always look forward to eating breakfast at cilantro's across the street. I was excited to walk up and see new items on the menu. They had a sign out front with delicious looking salads. I ordered a ceasar salad and my husband got a breakfast burrito and two tacos. I start with my hubbys burrito the beans taste soiled and my salad looked nothing like the photo and the tomatoes were rotten. I'm not sure if ownership changed or just new cooks but it will probably be the last time we eat here.

If if I could give them a zero, I would give them a zero. The girl at the counter never smiled Once. I am not familiar with the restaurant I Asked her some question and she seem like she was bothered by it when I ask the size of the soda, large or small she just looked at me like like if I was saying something that wasn't acceptable with her. I just walked out,! I never ordered anything and I will never recommend this place nor ever go there.

What a terrible experience. How does Viejas allow this kind of venue? My friend and I went there today, he was willing to give it another try though cautioned his last experience there was poor. I ordered a bean tostada. I asked for a cup of water and the lady informed me it would cost either $1.99 for a bottled water, or $2.99 if I wanted a water from their soda fountain. I almost said "closed deal, forget the ordered bean tostada!" But I endured, and said no drink. Got the tostada and it had no beans, but just a very runny sauce on the bottom of tostada shell, with minor appearance of beans. My friend could not believe it and said to take it back. I did, and showed the cashier lady and she agreed it had no beans, and said they would make me a new one. Got the 2nd one and same results, just a runny sauce on bottom. Bunch of lettuce, a shell, no beans, no tomatoes, no guacamole, no sour cream. The worst ever tostada. Avoid this place, this is clearly an owner who does not care about offer even to make a mediocre Mexican dish for Viejas patrons. How do you screw up a bean (frijoles) tostada, then deny any water to customer? The telltale sign on employee morale is you say hi and smile to cashier, no smile, no hello, you say hi and smile to cook, just a dirty look from him as though you are another terrible gringo he'd rather not serve.

You could have the best food in the world, but if the customer service is bad, it makes you never want to even consider it. I walked in, asked a few questions and was given short, snappy answers and gave me the overall impression I was being annoying. Not worth finishing the interaction for me to even try the food. Prices were high and service was horrible. Try someplace else.

No surprise this restaurant has poor reviews. Ordered a $12 meal only to be told I couldn't be given a plastic cup for tap water (which their soda machine dispenses) even though this was provided when I was here a week ago. They insist you buy bottled water at a ridiculous price. Cancelled my order and walked out. There are several other restaurants at this dying outlet mall more deserving of your dollars.Addendum: California Civil Code Section 114376 requires California restaurants to offer FREE, fresh drinking water to patrons upon request. Two cashiers at Cilantro disputed this when I questioned them and said because they sell bottled water the law doesn't apply. They are incorrect. I would encourage others who've left recent reviews stating the same happened to them to report them to the California Department of Public Health as I will be doing when Monday rolls around.

This notice goes against California law that requires water to be provided free of charge if requested. Food was mediocre, service and atmosphere were unappealing.
