I normally find it hard to justify paying for pasta because technically, it's not hard to make at home with cheap ingredients (yet, somehow, Italian dining out is always expensive). But gosh, Cicciotti's in Encinitas takes my breath away every time.I rotate between the fettuccine alfredo and vodka sauce penne pasta... both are so scrumptious and don't taste like your everyday Cheesecake Factory-type pasta. Given the superior quality and their competition, I'd say the prices are reasonable. They're also super generous with fresh parmesan cheese... all but one time I've gone, they put a container of it on the table. I like the self-serve approach because then I can indulge in as much as I want without having to ask for more hahahaThe views are incredible too -- you can see Cardiff Beach whether you decide to dine inside or out on the patio :) Parking is relatively easy... there's a parking lot but we haven't had to use it -- plenty of street parking across the street from the restaurant. Writing this review makes me want to eat at Cicciotti's now!

Super disappointed in our service here this evening. We visited here in 2020 before the world shut down. We had the best evening--live music, drinks flowing, fun atmosphere. We show up tonight, inquiring about happy hour. We sit down before 5. Bartender doesn't get to us until after 5. Says happy hour ends at 5. Ok. No big deal. People get sat after us. Inquire about happy hour, they get happy hour. Disappointed and feeling slighted.

On Sunday 12MAY2024, my girlfriend, her mom, her grandparents and I came here for lunch around 1230/1300. They have all been here before and it was my first time, I stepped out of my comfort zone and agreed to come along. I was skeptical about this place at first but was definitely blown away! The FOOD: there was so many options, I decided to go with the Mistro Di Carne Alla Brace. Everything about the plate exceeded my expectations and I was left speechless when asked my dish was. The dark sauce was a little bit much but I still loved it! The cappuccino was on point, not too hot and not too cold, but just right! The SERVICE: Our server was very nice, welcoming, and friendly. He greeted us and served us with a smile and checked on us frequently. We joked about not getting hearts on the cappuccino foam and had good laughs. The AMBIANCE: the restaurant overseas the ocean which is a great view if you're in the main lobby area. The tarp roofing was questionable IMO but still enjoyed my time there. The bathrooms are detached from the restaurant which I found to be interesting but uniquely different. The handicap ramp is on the backside of the restaurant. Overall, this place was nothing less than amazing! I noticed the extending seating area is also partially used as a storage as well with the flag poles I saw. The extended seating area could use some cleaning but considering how it wasn't occupied it made sense but it could be cleaned up IMO. There is parking in the front on the street and in the back as well.Overall rating: 8.5 of 10.

Massimo runs a nice ship. Always right there to welcome everyone and that gives it the local feel. Staff the same, water and bread with Italian tomatoes come right out. Wine list is impressive and we go Chardonnay and Chianti. Split a salad. Not my favorite Cesar, but after the tomatoes.... Tough to beat. Deb had veal porcini and it went rigatoni with pink sauce and sausage. Epic, one of those "exactly what i wanted" meals. Another wine and gratzi!!! Back soon and leftovers tomorrow!!!!

Ugh I loved this place but it is so far from where I live! If I lived closer I would come all the time but it is worth the drive! The Pennette Alla Vodka was some of the best I've had and the pizza we got was great too. The service was great and the staff was amazing. The ambiance was beautiful in the restaurant!

Found this place at a perfect location with an amazing view. You can literally watch sunset from anywhere you sit here. The menu is extensive and gives you a lot of options to explore, We got the Ravioli , grilled chicken, Pizza and seafood pasta. Ravioli was really good, cooked perfectly and nice sauce as well. I didnt really like the pizza , there was no taste, the sauce lacked flavor and the cheese was just cold and dry, felt like eating a stale pizza. The pasta was really nice , bare minimum sauce though but boasted the smoked salmon flavor. Grilled chicken again felt stale, was like a rubber, hard to cut and chew as well. The service is impeccable, they take care of your dining experience. All in all, a good spot for a dinner with some amazing view. I wish the food could be a notch up better.

Amazing service and staff. Fun pianist and lively entertainment during dinner! I had the risotto with steak and it was so rich but not overwhelming. The bar staff is super fun too

This is a cute little place in Cardiff with a great sunset view. It was so easy to make a reservation on open table, and we were seated promptly. We were celebrating my birthday so we got an array of appetizers and they were great.

My daughter loves this place. We've been here twice now and the last time, we were able to secure a corner table that looked out the window with a great view of the Pacific. It was perfect weather, too, with a hang glider flying right over the shoreline. She always gets the cheese ravioli and I always get the clams over gluten-free pasta. Their bread and tomato dish is so delicious, too. Where do they get their tomatoes?? This place has been added to our list of places whenever we dine out. Oh, did I mention they have great live music?
