In 2019 I wrote, "As another reviewer remarked, this is a surprising rating. Well, maybe it is a 4.8 because of the weird parking lot -- at first glance all the slots are green, there is a 30 minute sign on one side of the row, and a sign at the exit saying if you walk off the lot your car will be towed. There is actually some normal parking.The food is phenomenal. I particularly love yakisoba, and most places get it wrong. This place gets it right. The bento boxes are good, and a companion had the salmon and it was cooked correctly with good crispy skin. The ramen is good, the dim-sum plate was good if not quite equal to a real place with carts.Usually a place with such a big menu does a poor job. I am just so pleased to have found such a gem in a strip mall in La Mesa.The service was first-rate."I have returned many times since with equally pleasing results. This time I was with my four-year-old granddaughter and the server treated her like a queen. She suggested my granddaughter try a Japanese soda and it was much appreciated.

Chopsticks Inn is a surprisingly spacious (back room available) spot with pan Asian eats and boba like this Thai Tea and tarot. the tarot was creamy and flavorful but could have done with a larger format, more tapioca pearls and more sugar. the Thai tea had a bit of an artificial taste. they offer udon noodles too!

So we had the chicken chop suey and soft noodle with shrimp and a cup of wonton soup and white rice that comes with the chop suey. We also had the hot green tea.the food was delicious and very fresh. The service was fast and very courteous. As we walked in for dinner only one couple was there. Shortly after, it started to get busy and takeout was also happening. Nice option of traditional Chinese cuisine.

I wish I would've ordered more! I had dim sum and you know how delicious that can go! I need to go back and have another go at it. If you're trying local dim sum, go further than chopsticks in La Mesa! I went crazy on those sweet egg bun! Delicious. What is great however, I felt that was in a library scared to raise my voice lol! My kids felt like they had to be on their best behavior! But they enjoy the food that's all that matters!

Good food, fresh and tasty. We especially like the vegetables in a lite wine sauce, add chicken or tofu. The egg foo young is also very good. Nice people too.

I keep trying their dim sum because they are the only restaurant close to me with dim sum but it's just not good at all. The rest of their Chinese food is very good but I don't know why they can't make decent dim sum. The sticky rice is dry and the wrappers from the dumplings are always cracked and falling off before I even get a bite. I would recommend the Chinese food but don't get the dim sum.

Been going there for 30 years - still consistent in quality and taste. The restaurant and service is comfortable and hasn't changed in all that time. My go to for Chinese and their hot and sour soup is epic.
