Chivanada

Got to check out this food truck when I was seeing a show this weekend at Basement East. I love that this was parked outside and that I was able to bring the food in with me!I didn't love that every single one has cheese (even the vegan ones had vegan cheese). Assuming that's standard, I tried the Vegan Mushroom one & the Beef one. The mushroom one was good-I liked the flavors and it was good with the lime. I didn't like the ground beef seasoning, I only tried the meat inside with a fork for a few bites and then didn't finish it. I'd probably get the mushroom one again for the next show I attend at this venue. Wouldn't make my way out for these if there wasn't a show to attend, though. Also the girl working there was very sweet and friendly!

First time having empanadas and they didn't disappoint. It's a food truck so I recommend planning ahead if using Offline.

Caveat: I had Chivanada at a Yelp event. Not a paid endorsement, but like to be open about things like this.One of the most colorful food trucks in the Nashville area, this is an Columbian empanada paradise. My understanding is the empies are all gluten free, as well, which is a bonus.Well done beef empanada. One of the best I have had in my life (the best being Empa Mundo in Irving, Texas). Seems like a simple thing, but the empie, the unique mix of beef, gouda, and spices, and the sauce just work. Simple comfort food, but well done. I would also consider adding on an Avo-Tomato salad or Platano Maduro to round out the meal. Drinks also very authentic for the type of food.Look at their social media to see where they are this week. Basement East is one of their normal haunts.

Absolutely delicious! A unique flavor explosion in my mouth!! This little food truck has some big things going on! I was welcomed right away and they genuinely expressed gratitude for ordering their food and supporting their business. Ambiance is always cool when you are at a food truck because you get to eat outside and the weather this time of year in Nashville is divine! I ordered the Lenteya Lentil empanadas and WOW! Fresh, hot, and the Colombian spices explode with flavor! I also ordered the Patacones (fried plantains) equally delicious. Go on their website to find out where they will be!!

The food was flavorful and hot. Te service was nice and the food came out in no time. I got a chicken and beef empanada with their version of plantains. The chicken was my favorite. I can't wait to some back! It's located in a school bus cute set up for easy pickup.

The chocolate and cheese didn't go to well together, but the cheese and lenthils did! The straight cheese would be great for anyone who loves a lot of cheese, me personally I love cheese but that was TOO much. Our plantains were also burnt, not just ours everyone before us too. Like I mean burnt, not dark brown, Burnt. The chicken was good too! The price is a little insane but it's in downtown nashville, so sounds right to me. The only downside is we had to play a guessing game to find out which empanada was which, which can be confusing for people with dietary restrictions. They should work on that. They're drinks are an great selection tho! (The non-alc ones) also saw this on tiktok!

These empanadas were so overwhelmingly delicious that I had to close my eyes to eat them! The empanada shell was so golden and crunchy it was truly perfect. I couldn't choose between the chicken and the beef, but luckily I was able to get one of each. The chicken was great, but the beef was truly outstanding. It was so moist and the flavor was SO good. I can't wait until I can have more! Also, they work so fast! I ordered and had my food within 3 minutes in a crowd.

Such a fun truck! I visited the Chivanada II at the Music City Food Truck Park. The beef empanadas were recommended as a crowd favorite and they did not disappoint! I also got a side of the platanos maduro - I love fried plantains!! The food came out quick and hot.Highly recommend!

Empanadas we're delicious but a tad too expensive for me but what isn't these days. I wouldn't still recommend though.

I wish I had pictures to show you, but I ate everything so fast I forgot. This place delivers! Highly recommend them!We were hosting an event at my work I helped coordinate, and wanted a few food trucks. I emailed Chivanada and Daniel responded so quickly and kindly with all the information needed. He was so easy to work with. They arrived on time, and were super popular! We had them and one other food truck there. While I heard rave reviews of both, there was a constant line for this one. Personally, I tried the beef and chicken empanadas and the avocado/tomato salad. That gooey Gouda cheese was the perfect addition. I was not a huge fan of the white dipping sauce, but it was still good. I prefer a chimichurri sauce for empanadas, but that's just me.Daniel, I'm sure I'll be in touch to use you guys for another event in the future. Thank you for everything -- we loved having you!
