ACCURATE SPICY SCALE!!I will come back just due to the accurate spicy scale. One I've my biggest peeves is that there is no standardized menu spicy scale. When you order different Asian dishes or even wings, you never truly know how accurate the spiciness truly is. They clearly state what makes each level spicier while using different methods of spice. I hate when places just keep adding chili flakes. We went here for dinner on a weekend night shortly after the dinner peak (6pm). We had to wait about 20 minutes before getting sat. Everyone was friendly and multiple servers were attentive. We tried the Spicy Honey & Sesame Chicken which is their Orange Chicken. The 4 star spice was pleasant to us but will be too spicy for most people. The server when we ordered made sure we truly wanted that spiciness and then when the food arrived, asked if it was too spicy. The dinner portion was very large and was enough for the two of us and leftovers. Overall, if you're in the mood for this type of food, it's a must try.

Our usual to-go Chinese place based on proximity and general reliability. Though I was a bit disappointed last night - I ordered the Chicken a la Mandarin (my usual) and specified no mushrooms. The order was almost complete until I noticed that despite saying no mushrooms multiple times, the cashier had still input it without modification and had to wipe the whole order and re-enter. Additionally, I tried the beef and broccoli, which turned out to come with mushrooms and I wish the cashier had asked if I also wanted them removed based on my insistence about no mushrooms for the other dish.Still, what I received was delicious and abundant portions so I've got a couple of lunches this week!

Was alright. Happy to find a Sichuan place in Carlsbad, but it didn't end up tasting like Sichuan people actually made the food. You don't have to speak Chinese to eat here - many servers speak English/are bilingual. They also provide white rice free of charge, which is a nice touch. Chin's has a small parking lot it shares with a couple other businesses, but generally easy to get a spot.Szechwan Garlic Pork - more veggies than pork. This was alright, though a pretty simple dish in general. A bit of spice, but nothing overwhelming. Mapo Tofu - average. Little to no numbing spice, and even came a little sweet. Some mapo tofu variations do come like that, but I'm personally not a fan. Our server let us know adding pork to the recipe came free of charge, which was a plus. Szechwan Braised String Beans - This was the best thing we ordered, but I'd still give it a 3/5. A bit of spice but it wasn't numbing. I liked the classic texture of stir fried string beans.Overall, Chin's is best for people who haven't been exposed to Sichuan cuisine. I wasn't able to try many of the Sichuan classics, but based on our experience, I probably won't be back to do that.

I went to another location a couple years ago and remember enjoying what I ordered. We got 4 plates of entrees (Mongolian beef, Szechwan garlic chicken, walnut shrimp, Shanghai crispy pork: all great) and two appetizers (crispy chicken dumplings & fried pork wontons: I wouldn't order this again because there was hardly any pork) and everything was really good. You wouldn't expect it from the outside of the restaurant. The ambiance inside was nice and I liked their little touches. The service was great as well and they were very attentive to our table.

The tangerine chicken was inedible. It had no sauce and tasted burnt. Luckily the fried rice was ok, so we didn't go hungry.

I visited this restaurant right after an exciting day at Legoland since they are close. The food met my expectations, but it wasn't the best. But it gets covered by the service, this might be the best service I've ever had in my entire life. She quickly refilled my water, took our order, and gave us nice recommendations. Though the ambience was a little too dark for my liking, we still got some good shots of our food. I would come back here again if I am visiting the San Diego area.

Impeccable service and amazing food. What a great local place. Been here a few times and it's always fantastic. Used to be "overseas" Chinese and when they switched to chins they kept the same quality. Our recent deliver was Lisa and she was extremely professional and super attentive. She was worth going by to Chins for based on her customer service. 10/10 recommend Chins.

This place gets 6 stars. Stopped in with my boyfriend after reading some of these reviews and this place is phenomenal. Hands down the best Chinese food in the area and anywhere nearby. The food was amazing, the flavors were on point, and the service was on top of things. My boyfriend isn't the easiest to impress at times, and he wants to come back already. Everything was clean and timely. The chicken Lo Mein was amazing. The Kung Pao three flavor was amazing. And the pot stickers didn't last 10 minutes after they hit the table. Only issue is there isn't one closer to our house (we live a ways away) lol Would highly recommend to anyone!
