This is a great place to get Hopia with many options! I love the mongo and Baboy. They have specials SUCs as the one I got but 15 GET 1 free $16.86 (this has tax included). They also have taron, cashews, peanuts and some other things. The inside has a couple of small tables you can sit at. The parking lot is very busy due to sharing with Carnival Supermarket and the other little shops so you have to be patient especially on the weekends. This is a MUST TRY!

The Pork hopia is flaky and perfectly seasoned. You have to eat it while you're at the bakery. It comes out straight from the oven so eat! The kid that served me is so nice and accommodating. Not your typical millennial. This is a small little store but man, the food is amazing. So go! And get a dozen and more. It is addicting over tea.

So we went on vacation in San Diego for two weeks and in the two weeks we were there we returned to Ching's for 4 times. Their hopia is one of the best I have ever had. Its made daily, very fresh and sometimes if you are lucky tou can get it fresh out of the oven. I am actually someone who never ate hopia. I never liked the texture or the taste of any hopia I got but this place is a gam changer. When you enter the store it seems kind of empty because nothing is really on display but then you realize all their goodies are back in a warmer. Our favorite flavors are buko pandan, baboy (sweet onion) and ube. And in the case you don't get them hot out of the oven, all you have to do is heat it up for 10 seconds in the oven. I am already trying to figure put how to get these bad boys on the East coast.

I've been convinced that Valerios makes some solid hopia , UNTIL CHINGS. National city has some Filipino gems and I'd like to consider chings to be one of them . Located in a not so inviting strip mall , but don't let that steer you away ! If you like hopia, I highly recommend you pay chings a visit . They have tasty unique hopia flavors that do not disappoint . My favorite of course are the pandan and ube. When they're hot and fresh , they're unmatched ! If you're ever in the mood for some hopia and happen to be in the San Diego area, pay chings a visit ! You won't regret it .

Hopias were different (and kinda disappointed) compared to what I loved in the Philippines. Still worth a try b/c it's a unique item you prob wont find elsewhere!

Small shop with plenty of parking. Nice seating area and super nice customer service. The guy who helped me was such a nice guy! He said "looks like a before dinner snack" ummm yes!!! Absolutely the plan! But what was supposed to be a little sweet snack became my dinner as they were so irresistibly delicous! Hands down the best hopia I've ever eaten. They give them warm to you and taste freshly made. My personal favorite was the Ube but they were honestly all soo good! Glad I live In National City and that my grocery store is right next to it cause this girl will be a regular! Go support this local business. You can thank me later!

Visiting San Diego at National city. Wanted to get some hopia to bring back to vegas. Great selection of hopia- many different selection. Worth buying the bigger quality which they give you extra. Service is quick. They also have krinkles!!!

Had never heard of Hopia before in my life, but I walk by here often and can't help notice that there's usually a group of old men just hanging around there chatting and drinking coffee. That drew my attention to actually peeking in and seeing their little pastries. After some time I finally went in to give them a try since it's just 3$ for 3. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, nor do I ever crave baked goods. However, I was so surprised when I bit into the first coconut Hopia and I was an instant fan! I even came back the next day to try the Ube one as well. I'm not an expert on Hopia nor do know what is, or isn't, authentic. What I can definitely say is that it's a nice little snack that anyone will enjoy.

We came in late Friday afternoon and there wasn't a line. I was worried there wouldn't be a big selection left but we were able to get everything we wanted! Highly suggest deciding how many of each flavor you want prior to going in, because they're very fast when you know exactly what you want. I've had hopia in a lot of different cities across the US but this the first time I've been served it warm and WOW these are phenomenal. I'm happy I stopped here before heading to mission beach for our vacation because I had them for the whole weekend and more to bring back to arizona. These were so delicious and I will definitely be stopping by every time I head to San Diego! It's nice because it isn't that far from Seafood city and some of the other Filipino shops.

I always think of getting Hopias at this place for gifts to my friends and relatives and even my neighbors, but today was a bad, unpleasant, unprofessional situation with the filipino skinny guy managing the counter. I went in to buy the already packed Hopias that's on display and I asked if I can get those, but I was insinuated to get the ones that are warm/hot. I asked why can't I get the one on display and he said " those are for tomorrow "... very awkward and rude when I said "never mind" bc I wasn't satisfied with his attitude. When I walked out, I heard him mumbling that I wasted his time when I was the only one in the store and it was around after 3pm. I always recommend this place to friends and relatives that are from out of town like me, but since this guy has that attitude and wants to make the decisions for you. Right now, I don't think recommending this place is worth it anymore. Just imagine, I'm even helping them with people I know where I live "that it's the go-to place" for Hopias. You know who I am!
