China City Super Buffet

First visit here. Came on a Sunday with a group of 4.Greeted immediately, sat us, and got our drink orders in. Server was friendly.Fast service to clear plates and offer refills. I saw someone spill from their plate to the floor, and the spill was quickly tended to. Seafood & sushi tasted really fresh. Tried basically a bite of everything offered except the made to order Mongolian grill station. The only item I didn't like was the beef rib, but that's because it's prepared with a sweet taste, so it was more personal preference.I would definitely return.Senior get a 10% discount.

Looking at previous reviews the food wasn't all bad . The carving station was not well maintained and the food looked old and extremely dry. Sushi station was good. All other food was freshly prepared and was hot. Salt and pepper shrimp was good, nice crunch and it didn't have a head on it like other buffets. Beef and broccoli was nice. My favorite dish was the buffalo chicken skewers. But all the other food was good. Place was clean and had low music. Now for the funny part, the lady who sat us brought out our drinks but never came back to check up on us (refills, empty plate pick up or extra napkins) when I ask for the bill that's when she came. I went to go pay and the cashier got bothered when she asked me "I should leave a tip and the amount is on the bottom of the receipt. I laughed and asked her you serious. I went on to explain why a tip is given and her server missed all the hit points. I will not be coming back.

Not good. Service is fine, food very below average. Much better options, even for a buffet

I am not a connoisseur of Chinese buffets, but I do like Chinese food as it is presented in my neck of the woods. We try not to eat at chains and prefer Chinese restaurants run by actual Chinese staff. This place visually seems to meet the criteria, but the food I tried was either too fatty, void of flavor and just tasted...yes tasted like something. I would not recommend it, but it does seem very popular with a slightly older crowd.

Updating my review. We loved coming here before and came for years! We are not coming back anymore. I always got the salt and pepper shrimp. It was my favorite. They changed and now serve this and all shrimp with the shell on. You now have to peel the shrimp, this is removing any seasoning as well making the shrimp completely taste different. In addition, the prices went up. Sorry, after 20 years, we are not coming back.

Amazing restaurant. The buffet was amazing and had options for everyone. The service was amazing and very quick. I would highly recommend this place.

I had lunch today at China City and this was the worse I have had in the East Valley. The food was horrible and obviously left over from last night or before and reheated. Each dish I tried tasted sour and old. So, now 5 hours later I am experiencing stomach issues. I always try and give a restaurant a pass if the first pass was not good, but this along with the nasty hostess, who fortunately was not present today has resulted in me or anyone I know ever going to this "restaurant" again. I say this because the quality of the food is just 1 step above unconsumable and should really be inspected, the high price for low quality food and the nasty hostess that is usually present does not support the price of the "buffet", the good thing there are so many other choices, that provide a quality buffet experience without the high possibility of getting sick from the food and the nastiness of the hostess. If I could give this establishment a 0 I would.

The food was all sub- par. Shrimp was mushy, crab not like pictured! No meat on it. So many breaded dishes. Just not good. One dessert was still in the plastic container - top just ripped off. Just not worth the $!

Lady was mad I didn't tip. This is a buffet all i ordered was a water. I've worked food service i wasn't trynna be a dick lmao, but she didn't do anything to serve me lmao. womp womp .
