Chiefy Cafe - Gaslamp

Espresso. Many make it, not many get it right, or at least the way I like. Coffee shops. Many try to be everything AND a coffee shop. Chiefy Cafe makes a great espresso, has great service, and is a great place to sit outside, catch some fresh air, and enjoy yourself with out all the other pretentious things most other places have. Slightly off the beaten path, but literally just around the corner from everything. Super very much worth the stop!

Cute little cafe that we found while strolling through Gaslamp after weekday brunch. Order at the counter from friendly cashier, and there is seating available if you want to hang around. Honey lavender latte ($6.50)Viennese latte ($6)Both had a nice smooth flavor. Interestingly, the lattes were not hot. Technically, they were the right temperature to immediately start drinking. But we were chatting and strolling around so the latte became cold pretty quickly. Perfectly fine for a warm day, but if it were a cold day, I would have liked the latte to be hotter in order to warm my insides.

This is a great stop for breakfast açaí bowls, croissants, chai, coffee drinks, and smoothies. There is a self-order kiosk that is easy to use. I especially like the whimsical sayings on their cups like "I don't even care". There are limited seats, but...I don't even care.Staff is friendly. They open early at 6:30AM. I admire morning people.

Such a cute space. I ordered a hot chai latte and sat outside to enjoy the sun. The service was super friendly and Chiefy was adorable! There aren't a lot of space inside and plenty of space outside. Just a heads up.

Found this place while in town for a conference. Got the keto salad twice, once to go and once for eating in. Presentation was great both times - bacon was perfectly crispy! Lots of other great options on the menu as well.

I looooved this place! I wish they would open a location in the Los Angeles area. For coffees, we had the Moon Milk Latte, Oreo Remix, and Honey Lavender. All were great! I wish they came in bigger sizes because I did not want them to finish. The moon milk was for sure my favorite. I also got the açaí bowl which was also really good. The girls working were so sweet and attentive to all the customers. The place is very small but it gets packed on the weekends. Despite all the customers they answered everyone's questions and were super happy to give recommendations. The whole cafe was clean including the bathroom. Which is hard to do on a Saturday morning with only two employees! This place is run very well. Can't wait to be back next time I'm in San Diego!

Ok this little boutique coffee shop is really, really good. Their latte selection is great! I had a Mexican Latte and an Almond Croissant. Super delicious. It's a cute place. Now there is one thing; you order on a big screen and the menu is not all that intuitive. But you get used to it after a few minutes.

Great coffee and bagels. I had the secret house special latte and a cheesy jalapeño bagel with create cheese. Chocolate croissant was to die for.

I love how this place has so many options, but the items I got fell short. The avocado toast had an unbalanced flavor with little avocado and way too much balsamic glaze. The Blues Clues Smoothie tasted very artificial and way too sweet. On the other hand, I tried my cousin's Dragonfruit Smoothie and it was very refreshing and delicious. Thus, the medium rating.

They're open at 6:30am on Sundays! We were pleasantly surprised to find it open earlier than maps showed (8:00am). We shared the Douce Croissant on the patio, enjoying the perfect weather. We will be back for more! Highly recommend this!
