This is ALWAYS a go-to spot of mine whenever I'm in Chicago! They always have quick service, a great soundtrack of music playing, and THE FOOD IS PERFECTION! Had the dark meat fried chicken, with 2 waffles topped with strawberries, and a side of mac and cheese. DE-LIC-IOUS! But also...so many options on their menu! I really wanted to get the catfish as well...maybe I'll go back again before my trip ends. This spot is a staple and I cannot recommend highly enough. There were many people dining inside and they accept online orders and I saw a lot of folks coming in to pick up their food to-go. Definitely visit Chicago's Home of Chicken and Waffles.

Soooo today I decided to order carry out instead of going to the restaurant. When I tell you the food tasted just as good....honey it tasted just as good!! Food was still hot and fresh. So, I'm pregnant and nothing has been tasting anything past "ok" to me... but let me tell you this... Food was scrumptious!!! Delicious!!! Flavorful!!! Make you want to slap yo.. never mind lol. Every bite made me do a happy dance. Every bite made me try to stare into the kitchen to see who put they foot in my food!! The place is pretty small and they were packed!! Plus it was Mother's Day. They don't do reservations so my sister and I stepped in and signed the sheet for 2 with our phone number. The host man says, I know it's crowded and if y'all want I'll call when y'all next in line. 30 minutes later still no call! We went in to check and our name crossed off . Pregnant and starving equals war lol. I was ready to go off but he seated us right away once he realized his mistake. Our waiter named was Brian. He was very friendly and welcoming. Took a minute to bring us our drinks but I know it was very busy in there plus he had brought us a water when he first came over. Overall... what are you waiting for?? Go, Go now!! When the restaurant has chicken and waffles in its name, you can't go wrong with the chicken and waffles. The fried dark meat with the waffles and syrup were a perfect combination of sweet and savory. Portions are really generous. We also had Eric's Eggcellent Skillet with chicken sausage, which is a great savory dish, but didn't hit the spot as much as the chicken and waffles did.

Haven't been here in a few years. Ambiance was exactly the same very friendly. Service was good and the food came quickly. Food overall was ok my rice and gravy wasn't hot so I sent it back. Catfish was ok. Smothered potatoes were the best thing I had. Chicken wings were good. Waffle was not good at which was very disappointing based on the name of the place and what they are known for. Really felt like they gave us a reheated waffle but we had so much other food we didn't even bring it up...plus they would say if it was reheated anyway. The greens were good also. Home of Chicago Chicken n Waffles! That's a bold statement in a city with so much competition. This was my second visit after several years, but I recently got a catered order at an event and decided to try the dine-in experience. Arriving on a Sunday afternoon, they were pretty busy with a party for about 26 taking up most of the tables, but once they were done, everyone was correctly seated. The interior has a speakeasy quality, with just enough natural light. The atmosphere feels busy. The kitchen is next to the main area, so it has a home-style feel. The wait staff was still transitioning from the last massive party, so they were a bit slow, and every time I was about to complain, our waitress showed up. She was overall OK and was attentive enough. She had a good attitude overall. I will note my sister didn't like being called " love," which is something to keep in mind. I got the classic chicken n waffles, three wings, eggs, and grits with a coffee. My sister got fish and waffles, which she enjoyed. It was a bit of a wait to get the food, but the quality of the chicken was good. The waffle was, in my opinion, a bit too soft. I was told they were having some issues with their waffle iron. Their prices were reasonable, and overall, Chicago Chicken n Waffles was an ok experience. Chicago has a lot of great chicken n waffle spaces.
