Chicagos Chicken Coop

This was my Harold's alternative, but after tonight.... I don't know. My family order was a half white , large liver, 4 wings and fried okra. My go to is the half white, when this place open the chicken breast was seasoned to perfection and juicy , as of tonight I received twice maybe three time cooked chicken! My chicken breast is tuff and super hard, my fries are chewy, my coleslaw was gross as hell and I dig coleslaw... this was stomach turning!The okra was good, a little over cooked but still good, The liver was nasty! Bitter! You can taste the old oil in everything we ate... gross! I honestly really use to dig this spot, so much so that I travel from the city to the suburbs for it, I don't know if I will do this again. This was not a good experience at all!

Delicious Fried Chicken!! The Mild sauce was tasty and you get your money's worth. We ordered the 12 piece with Fries and an order of Hush puppies. The only thing lacking was the customer service. The cashier was not wearing a face mask but there were signs telling customers must wear Face coverings. She was not friendly at all. The place was not crowded or busy.

I've always wanted to try this restaurant, so last week I gave it a go. Upon arrival I observed that the restaurant was very clean. There is a lot of seating but, the tables are tiny and uncomfortable. The ceiling fan was wavering directly over the seating, which blows all of your stuff onto the floor, so it was quite annoying trying to eat with Napkins flying everywhere. There was only 1 customer there, so service was quick. The cashier did not greet us or interact with us. So they definitely need to work on customer service! The quality of the food was good. The wings were fried crispy. I didn't like the seasoning that they used, which tasted like pepper and lemons. I liked that the fires were cooked well and covered in sauce. I would eat here again. But honesty it's hard to spend money at restaurants that have poor attitudes and customer service.

I walked in the place was clean. The cashier told me it's a 20 min wait. I don't mind long as the food comes out hot and fresh. Someone do need to tell them the price of wings are back down. Prices are high up there. That may explain why there wasn't a lot of people there like next door at sharks. Cashier didn't have a attitude with me but you can see that she was ready to go home. My food was hot and fresh. There was a lack of seasoning on the chicken and fries but still good. Mild sauce was good. If you're going to go call ahead and be prepared to pay a little more.

Okay.... This USED to be my spot for chicken but no more.... For the 2nd time in a few weeks they can't seem to get simple orders correct. All difficult is it to follow "Mild sauce and hot sauce on both orders"? Get them home and one's dry as a bone and both orders were fried so hard it was ridiculous. And this exact situation happened TWICE.... I guess "Harold's" will be getting their customer back. No more Chicken Coops for me.

I always wondered why it seemed like this spot was never really crowded, even on the weekends. But, I still decided to give them a shot. Grabbed me 6 wings and the wait wasn't too long. Chicken tasted extremely salty (may have been the lemon pepper!? Idk) and, it had a hint of slightly burnt grease taste. Probably, some of the worst chicken that I have had. Ending up tossing half of the meal. I don't know if it was a off night. But, I won't be returning.

I was so disappointed for the 2nd time with this restaurant that was my favorite. Today I ordered the liver and chicken combo. The liver was burnt. No sauce was on the food. I asked for extra sauce on the side. The chicken wings tasted spoiled. I ended up just throwing it all away. I personally will not be ordering from them anymore.

This. Chicken. Is. Bussin. !!! Light crispy crust seasoned to perfection Oh, and I know it's called the CHICKEN COOP ,But have u tried the catfish fillet dinner ? Ya better get u some and then THANK ME LATER

Food is better than Harolds chicken shack in the southern area and made just like it.

They used to be really good. Now it's just pretty mediocre. I wish them look in picking things back up.
