"I heard about this restaurant from a YouTube tourist vlog on Chicago. Decided to give it a try while visiting Chicago, so glad we did ! Food was awesome, we were craving for some nice vegetarian food and this place didn't disappoint. It's close to River walk and many restaurants on that street . Service was good and cauliflower tofu sauté was sooo delicious ( tasted like Indian Chinese fusion food) , sushi was delicious and noodles were ok . Didn't like the momo dumplings, very soggy and green chutney on top of dumplings was tasting that well .Drinks were so refreshing and well presented..But we loved everything else we tried . If you are a tourist and looking for flavorful Asian fusion definitely give it a try ."
"Food: I think this is the best Japanese restaurant I've eaten at. The best salad we've ever had. Ginger house salad was amazing. The miso soup was super flavorful. The teriyaki chicken was perfect.Service: Immediately sat down, ordered, very friendly and quick.Ambiance: Very very clean. Holiday deco, soft music was nice."

Visit Restaurant Page"Ok. Where do I start?Sushi fanatic here and my biggest complaint about Chicago has been the lack of real sushi options. Lived in LA where my go-to's were Sasabune and Nozawa and in New York where I loved Yoshino. So real deal Holyfield type fish.Imagine my surprise when I found this hidden gem in Lincolnshire. Yes, there are some hidden suburban trappings (slightly loud music, strip mall location) but THIS is the best, freshest nigiri in all of Chicago. We had the chutoro, Ikura (salmon roe), fluke, yellowtail, uni (fresher than fresh that night), and a few other items. All were very good but the nigiri really stole the night. As well, served with fresh wasabi, not horseradish.Total tab was ~$260 for two of us (two bottles of sake as well - Nigori and Junmai). If you compare that to a typical suburban sushi restaurant, that may seem pricey but compared to the other restaurants I mentioned (and Good Sushi's nigiri stands toe to toe), it's a bargain. We will be back, likely weekly. It's in our rotation and if you're into real sushi, I couldn't recommend anymore. Go. Just go. Sit at the bar, order a kirin. Order a junmai and let the itamae do his thing. You won't be sorry."
"I did an online takeout order from them on a Friday night. The promised time was about an hour wait, which I thought was a little too long, especially when I arrived it didn't seem that busy for it to take that long. I did arrive a lot sooner than my promised time, hoping it would be close to be completed but still had to wait some time. They invited me to sit at the bar while I waited and offered me a drink and also gave me a glass of water. Outstanding top notch customer service. I ordered their Maki Combo. It came with their Tako Maguro, Ceviche and Sake Yaki. They were all delicious. My favorite was their Ceviche, then the Tako Maguro. Ceviche came with tuna, white fish and shrimp, spicy mayo and pineapple salsa. You get a nice fusion of tropical with sushi. Definitely a great combination. The Tako Maguro came with spicy octopus, and spicy tuna. It was definitely spicy, but a good spicy. And the Sake Yaki came with grilled salmon and almond. I also ordered a Miso Soup, but only because they would let me pay with a credit card unless it was $50 or more. The Maki Combo was $48. Was not a big fan of their credit card limit. It's definitely on the pricier side for what you get. The rolls are tiny. They're like bite size versions of standard making rolls. But these tiny little suckers are full of flavor. The quality and attention to detail is what you're paying for. While this isn't an everyday type of sushi place, I can definitely see myself returning."
"Kinta Sushi has one of those unassuming store fronts since it's tucked away in a small strip mall next to a convenient store and Chinese buffet, but they're actually pretty legit. We came in on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty, so it seems to be more of a take out spot. The portions are fairly generous at the price point and we've always had a good experience. All the servers are always hustling and make sure drinks are always topped off and the food comes out quickly. As someone with a more Americanized palate who doesn't typically eat more traditional sashimi/nigiri, I usually stick to the deep-fried specialty rolls. The King Kong and Miami rolls are my personal favorites. The other rolls our group usually recommends are the Cry Cry, Love Love, and Atlantic rolls.Overall, Kinta is a super reliable, local sushi spot. They are a small business with hard-working employees so I'd recommend to give them a shot."
"Got a carryout order of crispy steak, orange chicken, and fried rice here and thought it was alright. The portion sizes were fairly large, in line with what you'd expect for the prices charged. The flavors were alright for me, not the best Americanized Chinese I've had but also not bad. The ingredient quality seemed to be a little better than average but I didn't care much for the flavor combinations and found that it overall lacked wok hay. Maybe it's a better experience when getting the food for dine-in, but when I had it shortly after carryout the entrees weren't really crispy at all and it felt a bit more saucy / watery than similar preparations elsewhere."
"We came in for an early dinner and we're seated right away. The waiter was quick to bring water and take our order. We had some miso soup, spicy edemame, and shumai for starters. I loved the wasabi shumai. They were different and had a really great flavor! The miso soup was piping hot. I almost burned my mouth multiple times. We had a couple salmon avocado rolls and half of a specialty roll. The sushi was really good! Everything was fresh! The rolls were packed well and didn't fall apart. I would come back to Umai! The food was really good! Definitely get the wasabi shumai!"
"Back again for another Shine update... this place really deserves a higher rating :). We've gotten Shine 3/4 times just in the last month and a half.. and every time it has been great! No issues with the order in a while, and the front desk hostess is always SUCH a ray of light! So sweet and knowledgeable. My favorite roll is still the Akuma Maki.... you just gotta try it. My new other favorite roll is the Tochigi Maki which is a spicy tuna roll wrapped in slices of mango and avocado with a sweet and spicy sauce- OMG. It is so good?! I don't know how Shine has all these delectable glazes/sauces for their rolls.. but it just works. My order of course isn't complete without the crab rangoon too... I devour all four with the sweet and sour sauce, quickly. :)All in all... this will continue to be one of my favorite take-out sushi spots."
"Sushi Badaya clearly strives for excellence and their passion is palpable with every bite. If it's true that we eat first with the eyes, then your peepers are really going to enjoy a trip here. Beautiful plating accents every order, and is as wonderful to look at as it is to taste.Sashimi was incredibly fresh, oysters were perfectly prepared, and three sake courses paired excellently.Service could not have been better. Korean speakers will especially enjoy the sushi bar."
"Stopped in here to get some smoothies after a long walk around the loop and it didn't disappoint. For the very reasonable price for $5.50 for up to a mix of two different fruits, I was pleasantly surprised to see them use full fruit for the whole smoothie (instead of powders or other mix-ins and fillers). The taste of the drink reflected the amount of fruit they used the the lemon syrup was light and provided a nice way to make the drink a little more refreshing without adding too much sweetness. The boba in the drink was fairly chewy and there was a good amount provided, though maybe too much in the drink. Even with the extra boba, since the smoothie was 20 oz, there was still plenty of drink to enjoy."
"Amazing omakase experience! I've been a long-time fan of Sushi-San and in particular their lunch specials so I was excited to try the omakase. We arrived around 30 min earlier to our reservation and grabbed a drink in the main dining room. The servers were nice enough to expedite our orders and brought our drinks upstairs to the omakase room when our reservation came along. Note it is a separate tab so we did have to pay for our drinks before heading upstairs. On the second floor, we waited in the lounge and were treated to a sweet green tea drink to sip while we waited. Once we could head into the omakase room, we were greeted by the chefs and I was immediately impressed by the ambiance. It is more contemporary than traditional omakase rooms with hip hop music, blush velvet chairs and gallery style lighting where above each sushi plate there is a spotlight. This made taking pictures easy as there was the perfect ledge to display and capture each piece of sushi.Every single course was divine! We started with a complementary glass of sake, toasting with the chefs which set the stage for a great dinner. My favorites included the Otoro Tartare with Caviar, Hokkaido and Santa Barbara Uni Gunkan, Otoro w/Caviar and Snow Beef Japanese A5 Wagyu.I loved that there were some interesting twists on classic nigiri including Yellowtail Belly w/Banana Pepper, Maitake wrapped with Salmon, and Uni Ice Cream. While we didn't have a menu during the dinner, we were presented with the menu as we were heading out after we finished and it was a wonderful surprise to see the chefs' signatures on the menus as well. The service and food were spectacular and would definitely come back for future celebrations!"
"This is a ramen/japanese restaurant.I was very surprised at how delicious this restaurant was, given that it doesn't only specialize in ramen. I got the miso ramen. The broth was very good. It was slightly sweet, and slightly sour, but still had a great pork broth flavor. The best thing about this were the ramen noodles. They were homemade, and super springy, and had an amazing texture. You could feel the edges of the homemade noodles because they were rectangular shaped. One of the best ramen noodles I have had.The pork belly was very flavorful. It must have been marinated or cooked for a long time because the flavor was good throughout the entire cut of meat. The egg was good, because it was jammy inside. I also liked the buttery corn topping. Other toppings (menma, kikurage, green onions) were as expected. The only thing I didn't like was the fried nori. I think it was weird they fried it, and it ended up tasting weirdly stale. Maybe they should just do a regular piece without first. Service was very fast, given that I came on a wednesday night. There was no wait and the place was half empty. Ambiance is on the darker side."

Came here for a business lunch and we were all blown away. Tons and tons of flavor in all the dishes. There's so many things I want to come back and try. The crispy rice was one of my favorite bites and it's wild there is no fish- really the flavor is great! Decor and ambiance were really lovely - felt modern. Hostess and wait staff were fine just not out-of-your-way friendly. I would come back.

This was a pretty decent Japanese restaurant. Quality and prices aren't the best but they have nice decor and the portion sizes are very generous. I guarantee you won't go starving if you order entrees and sushi rolls. I think they try to add some "fancy items" but they should just focus on keeping it more simple. This is far from being fine dining. I got the tonkatsu entree, green turtle speciality roll, and a scallop sake shooter. Tonkatsu was a little dry but still edible. They probably shouldn't have cooked it too long. Green turtle specialty roll was good. It's shrimp over bbq freshwater eel and it does contain some wasabi mayo. Everything was balanced, not too much rice. The scallop sake shooter was a bit of a letdown. Maybe the oyster would have gone down easier. The scallop took a bit to slide down from the glass to your mouth. It does have a bit of spice to it. Overall, a 3. Service was okay, they could be more attentive like refilling waters and asking if we need anything.Tonkatsu - 3.5Green turtle - 5Scallop sake shooter - 2

This has to be one of the best Sushi Restaurants I've been to in the Chicago area. Their selection isn't huge like you find in some, but everything is top notch in quality, freshness, and taste. I expected more of a traditional looking Japanese restaurant but they are very modern and spare in their design. It is actually quite nice.We were greeted immediately. The service was truly outstanding. The waiter was extremely attentive; he took time to explain everything on the menu - and the choice was very difficult to make. We ordered a couple of drinks and their asparagus beef roll. They were out of asparagus so substituted Chinese broccoli, which worked very well in the dish. For our meal, we had tuna, salmon, and rainbow maki rolls, and two pieces of red snapper Negeri. The portions are very generous. The pieces of snapper were very large compared to other places I've had negeri. I can't pick out any one dish I preferred over any others - they were all delicious and beautifully presented. It was nice sitting at the sushi counter. We arrived early - around 6 PM, and the seats immediately in front of the chef were open. He was kind, and answered several questions we had. The show was marvelous.I highly recommend Good Sushi in Lincolnshire. Even if you have to go miles out of your way, it is that good. Thanks to the staff for a great time and a terrific meal.

Here's what you need to know: outstanding omakase experience and great sake/Japanese whisky list. Exceeded my expectations. The quality of the omakase was exceptional.Every course through the progression was well thought through and complimented the previous dish. The visually Spectacular dishes were matched with the flavor construction, creativity, and execution. Even the cocktails were amazing!I would highly recommend this restaurant. No it's not cheap but you're paying for the Intellectual property, skill, and quality.

Came here yesterday with my husband and a couple of friends because we were craving Chinese food and sushi; Bistro Dragon did not disappoint!Upon walking in, we were seated immediately. The place doesn't look too special inside like the pictures on social media. You could barely see the lights in the back wall, and there were no tablecloths on the tables. It looks more elegant in the website photos than in reality. It was also like 100 degrees in the restaurant when we were there, so I think their AC was out on the hottest day of the year. We almost ended up walking out because the door was open, and all of the 115-degree heat was creeping in. It wasn't good for us, especially my friend who is pregnant. I can't imagine how the workers felt being there all day.Despite the heat, our service was great, and our waitress was patient and attentive. Because it was our first time there, it took us a little longer to figure out what we wanted, but she continued checking in on us.Most importantly, the food was amazing, and the menu is extensive and includes sushi entrées, Chinese food entrées, stir-fry entrees, and more! My husband, one of my friends, and I ordered Kung-Fuze'd boxes ($19.95), and we were so happy with our choices. With a Kung-Fuze'd box, you get to order soup or salad, an appetizer, 2 entrées, and a side (different rices). I ordered the miso soup, crab rangoon, the spicy tuna roll, the spicy salmon roll, and fried rice. Everything was DELICIOUS and well-prepared. The sushi had a perfect balance of rice and fish, and the crab rangoon didn't just taste like cream cheese like most places. Instead, it tasted more like the imitation crab mixture. Honestly, you get so much food for a great price, in my opinion. I ended up only eating half and saving the rest for lunch today.Overall, everyone I went with raved about how good the food was, and my husband and I vowed we would be back soon! We will probably skip the dine-in experience next time and will just pick the food up, though.

Oh, Umai... you had a good thing going, but then you went a couple steps too far. Namely on the sugar and salt. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen with black garlic oil and half a Chicago maki roll. The Tonkotsu was solid. The broth was savory, the noodles pleasant, and it was well balanced in terms of veggies. The Chashu pork was middle-of-the-pack, though I do appreciate the layers of meaty and fatty. Overall, it wasn't melt-in-your-mouth, but also wasn't an uninspired piece of boiled meat. Where this bowl of ramen goes wrong is the salt content. Look, I fully understand and realize that by its very nature ramen is salty. However, this specific bowl took is a step too far. When finishing a bowl of ramen, I ordinarily happily slurp up whatever broth remains. In the case of Umai's Tonkotsu, this was impossible. Now, let's talk about the sushi. This Chicago roll had a lot going for it: a generous amount of fish, the stalwart classic avocado and cucumber, and some tempura(ish) stuff for crunch. Unfortunately, they took this classic and ruined it was a heavy handed use of the honey miso sauce. Sweetness in a sushi roll isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it must be done carefully. Here, the overly generous use of an extremely saccharine sauce clashed with anything the roll had going on and overpowered everything. To be fair, I would be open to ordering this one again, providing I can get the honey-miso on the side, or excluded entirely. Finally, the vibe is modern with black, wood, and just the right amount of splashes of color. The service was also appropriately fast and reasonably attentive. Thus, while I am curious to try the spicy ramen, and the Chicago roll without sweet sauce, given the size of Chicago's dining scene - I do not necessarily feel a pull to return.

We ordered several dishes off the Shanghai food menu - Jellyfish & daikon, crab in wine, stir fry eel, drunken fish fillet, Shanghai pork soup, and pork & veggie rice. Portion was really big and those dishes should easily serve 4 people. However, Shanghai pork soup has very little pork, tofu skin or bamboo and every dish is just too salty. Being a Shanghainese and having a mom who cooks fantastic Shanghai food, I can't say the food here was bad, but I can't justify myself paying to eat Shanghai food here.
Visit Restaurant Page"Here is a long time favorite for sushi in Evanston. It's been around here since the 1980s, so that's a long time for a restaurant. Kuni's Bistro looks like it may not have changed that much in that time. Even though it may look outdated, the food is still fresh. This is like getting old school sushi without all the fancy sauces and some other crazy stuff. A pretty good menu and the prices are a throwback as well, pretty cheap. It has a few Asian beers including Asahi, the most popular one in Japan according to the label. The sushi is the main thing though. It's about $5 for hand rolls. These are like typical sushi rolls except these aren't cut and are thicker. Kind of like a long triangle shape. We got the Avocado and the Veggie Hand Rolls, and these were a pretty good value. Liked these. Packed full of rice and vegetables, in a pretty tough seaweed wrap. Good tasting and good looking. There's also the more common types of rolls. Best place for getting classic styles of sushi without being fancy. It's been around a long time and it's easy to taste why, as well as the good prices. There's a pretty good amount of choices for vegans and vegetarians."
"Certainly there's a lot of sushi places around here. Enso is another, and it's among the good ones. It's surprisingly affordable, maybe because it's not that large of portions. About the only complaint is it's not exactly that much food. The sushi is fresh though. After looking around for a place to get sushi, we chose to come here. It's conveniently close to the Damen Blue Line. This place has a cool vibe. Kind of quiet. The prices aren't that bad, especially for around here where it's hipster stuff. It's about $6 for a basic roll. We got a few of these. Best one was the Avocado Roll. It was good in spite of being simple. An example of how good food doesn't need to be elaborate. The rolls were as fresh as food gets. For sure it's pretty easy to find sushi around here but it's harder to find it fresh and cheap. It's possible to get both here. There's also more on the menu such as gyoza, ramen, and other good Asian stuff."
"Dama is a welcomed addition to Bridgeport. The interior design is clean, modern, yet comfortable and cozy at the same time (even the bathrooms are very neat). The ordering system is via kiosk, and a robot delivers your food! The food, of course, is amazing. I had the kalbi box and it was perfect. The non-dairy bubble tea also hit the spot. I like that they have a separate cafe area, too, in case you just want to go for a drink. I'll definitely be back!"
"I've gone to the Division location for over 20 years so I was quite surprised it closed but so happy to be able to get Kani Nigiri, and a spicy mono! These are my favorite sushi dishes anywhere I have ever been in the entire world! There's only a few seats in the new location but as long as I can get a chair I will continue to go! The service was a little slow considering how few tables there were but overall the vibe was really good and I would highly recommend if you are a true sushi lover."
"Such a quaint Japanese spot for some quality sushi!Came here on a Sunday at their open time and no one else was here. The place is relatively small but has more space in the back. It's a quiet spot and the perfect place for some assorted sushi rolls. They have a large menu with their main best sellers being their sushi rolls and poke bowls. I love that they have it separated as "beginner rolls" and "adventure rolls". You already know I primarily only look at the adventure rolls ;) But it's super nice for folks who haven't ventured out into the sushi world yet and want to start off with more plain rolls. You also have the option of ordering either 4 rolls (for a cheaper price) and 8 rolls (for a higher price). I love this option! More restaurants should have this so people can order more and less rolls that sound appealing to them or if they simply want to try something new, they won't be stuck with a full roll to finish. They also have ramen and various appetizers and seafood dishes. The staff here was super polite. I mean seriously, they were so hospitable and welcoming I definitely noticed it immediately. There's more than enough parking in front; be sure not to miss Seafeast since it's tucked away in a strip mall. I would totally go here again!"
"Had reservations here for Friday night birthday dinner for my friend. It was a nice touch from the staff where they printed a personal Happy Birthday to my friend on her menu! All of the staff also wished she a happy birthday to make it extra special. The vibes are dark & moody with your Japanese influences. Seems like a great place for date night! Also a plus, the bathrooms are stocked with everything you need, including hair ties! Feels very personable. I got the chef seasonal nigiri selection and it did not disappoint! Each piece was well seasoned and some pieces even provided a smoky finish! The 10 day dry aged tuna nigiri sampler was also so delicious. The fish is on point here. I would come back here again! Just prepare to spend a pretty penny here, haha!"
"What a great place to get food! TLDR: Great food, great service, chill vibes, great prices, will be coming again for sure! So, my partner and I visited for lunch, around 1 pm. We've never been but walking in, the decor was chill but also I can see how it could be busy at night. So note this: We love Japanese food and they were craving sushi and I was craving ramen but when we got there, we flipped our choices and chose to get lunch bento boxes and we were not disappointed! So, firstly, we ordered edamame and takoyaki for appetizers. The salt with the edamame looked great and tasted great! Then the takoyaki was so fresh that we blinked and they were gone. Also, the lunch bento boxes came with miso and that bowl of miso was so so good during a 40 degree day. Then the bento boxes came. The presentation? So clean! Salad? Bomb. California maki? Yum! Wasabi? Fresh. Ginger? Ate mine and my partners lol! I split my katsu with my partner's food and traded them katsu for veggie tempura, and that was a great decision because their tempura? SO GOOD. And don't even get me started on the rice and katsu combo. I wanted seconds!! All that and even with tip it was affordable! Well done, Nori! Can't wait to be back!"
"If you don't mind not seeing "the show" (onion volcanoes, beating hearts, rolling eggs) or having soup or salad, the flavor is phenomenal. So is the garlic sauce. For about $38, the combo is a large portion. Heavy on the rice. In terms of ambiance, it's more of a carry out business on a corner with a fair amount of metered parking. If you wanted to eat your meal there, there's about eight (8) two person tables. SERVICE: Each time I placed my order online and was pleased that it's ready much sooner than than predicted. I hope this BoB thrives and expands to offer a true hibachi type dining experience. Definitely worth checking out."
"What the hecky heck???? How have I not reviewed this joint??? This is me and The Queen's go to place when we want ramen but don't want to drive anywhere and get it. For a place that does delivery, Blowfish does a pretty good jog of getting your food to you while it is sill hot and that is a plus for me. They have the usual appetizers. We always get the Gyoza (pan-fried beef dumplings topped with sweet & sour sauce, and scallions), Shrimp Shumai (steamed dumplings topped with sweet & sour sauce, and scallions) and Pork Buns (Holland pork belly with sunomono salad in steamed buns). All are good, but pretty standard fare.Where Blowfish excels is in the ramen. I love their Classic Ramen with the "Tonkotsu" (pork) soup noodle topped with Holland pork chashu. I usually will request extra noodles and pork, or sometimes brisket added to it. This will create enough of a meal to cover two days. I love their Tonkotsu broth, it is as they describe, silky but I am going to throw in smooth as well. The Queen goes for the Beef Brisket Ramen because she loves brisket and spicy stuff. I don't mess with this one because of the chili peppers, but if you like it on the spicy side, this one is for you.The Doctor and The Queen are fans of the Salmon Sunrise Bowl (Fresh salmon, smoked salmon, edamame, avocado, scallions, shitake, mango, pickled cucumber, sesame seeds topped with shallots, creamy yuzu mayo, sweet soy sauce, wasabi ponzu, shallots, and tobiko). The Doctor says that is very fresh in flavor and he usually cleans his bowl when he orders this.California rolls were good, but by the time you get ramen and appetizers, you ain't got no room for them. We just might have to do a ramen free night in order to try out some of the rolls. For now, the ramen is it for us."
"Had dinner here last weekend with friends and just really enjoyed this place. It was really good Chinese and Asian food, after a long time. The place isn't too fancy or anything. It kind of has a strange layout too, where you have to go around the bend to the seating area. It's not a big place, at all inside. The service was kind of OK - the lady admittedly was on her first day, but she just wasn't up with the service. For example, just not doing refills, not knowing the menu, etc. I get it - first day. I'm giving this place the benefit of the doubt. Our friends that took us there vouch for this place; they're regulars. And there were right on one thing; the food was great. The Ma Po Tofu was great. The Kung Pao Vegetables were also good. There was this veggie sushi, which I really loved. It had some crispy stuff in there. I can't find it on the online menu, but whichever one it was, I loved it. We also had the veggie fried rice, which was just OK. I ate a LOT of food there, cuz it was so good. You know, there are SO many more amazing looking options on the menu, I definitely would want to come back here to give it a shot. In fact, I noticed there's another location down near West Town, so I'll definitely give it a shot. Now that I think about it - maybe we already have? Hmm... I'll have to look in to that. Well, great job at this location and thanks for a great evening."
"Felt like trying some new sushi out and Bubble Maki hit the spot that's for sure!I was especially hungry and ended up ordering 3 rolls. Im definitely a texture eater so having the two crunchy rolls was a great choice. I especially enjoyed the crunchy Avocado Tuna roll. Two other things I have to mention other than the rolls are actually the sauces. They're delicious. I definitely enjoyed the Sriracha aioli the most. It's a great level of spice and creaminess. It's nice to have something a little different than the usual Wasabi and soy sauce. The little touch that made my day was the pickled asparagus. I've never had it before but it was a nice change up.Definitely will be coming back!"
"I passed by this place a few times. Buts it's honestly very hard to miss if you peak into the alley. Pretty bold wall murals on the side. I'm honestly making my way through the strip between Belmont and Diversey. This week Sumo. Did not disappoint. We stuck with basic staple dishes seafood Udon and Chicken katsu which came with miso soup, side salad, and rice. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. I'd like to head back and try some of their sushi next. It's was just a wet day and I wanted something warm. But service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was nice and chill. Lots of people on dates with some upbeat music in the background. It's a great spot and I great area too with a ton of cute shops. I'll def be back."
"I had decided to make a quick Chicago trip and this restaurant kept coming up as #1 or #2 on so many top ten lists that I decided I had to at least eat lunch here. I am so happy that I did! This sushi was literally phenomenal. I am sorry but besides the A5, the o-toro, the Hokkaido Scallop, and the Hokkaido Uni, I lost track of what all I consumed. I am a total sushi snob and this place literally blew me away. Now I did have to hand the obviously Americanized menu back to the waiter and tell him no I am sorry but I need the Japanese menu and better yet just keep bringing us the real thing until we tap out. He fulfilled my wish completely. Perfect service and the waiter crafted a perfect over the top lunch for us. The space is modern and has a great ambiance and open floor plan but yet still manages to capture some of the traditional sushi bar feel you get when in Japan. I will return every time I am in Chicago."
"Harmony Sushi Restaurant offers a serene escape into the world of traditional Asian dining, where tranquility meets exceptional cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the peaceful ambiance envelopes you, transporting you to a realm of calmness and relaxation. The decor exudes the quiet elegance of traditional Asian restaurants, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. But it's not just the ambiance that sets Harmony apart; it's the food that truly steals the spotlight. Each dish is crafted with precision and care, resulting in an explosion of flavors that delight the senses. To start off, the Crab Rangoon is a must-try. These crispy, creamy delights are simply out of this world, leaving your taste buds craving for more with every bite. The perfect combination of crunch and richness makes it a delightful appetizer choice. Moving on to the Avocado Rolls, they are a testament to Harmony's dedication to quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship. Each roll is a symphony of flavors, with the creamy avocado complementing the freshness of the other ingredients perfectly. However, the star of the show undoubtedly is the Mongolian Beef. Bursting with flavor, each bite of this dish is a journey through layers of umami goodness. The tender beef, paired with the rich sauce, creates a culinary masterpiece that leaves a lasting impression. Harmony Sushi Restaurant offers not just a meal, but an experience. With its tranquil ambiance and outstanding cuisine, it's the perfect destination for anyone seeking a moment of serenity and culinary delight."
"I wanted to add 3 additional items that are worth ordering. Beef tataki, soft shell crab, and tonkatsu dinner. Tokatsu dinner you get a nice big piece of pork loin. It's crunchy and moist. 5/5. Soft shell crab is not overly fried it's just right. Tastes great with that ponzu sauce. 5/5. Beef tataki has great quality NY strip meat. Make sure you eat it with the garlic, green onions, and ponzu sauce. Those components will amplify the taste"
"Enjoyed a very nice dinner here on the back patio with my friends. Service was very good and we enjoyed a good variety of menu items including drinks, appetizers and different sushi rolls.I specially had a green tea, ginger salad, shrimp dumpling and a sushi roll with shrimp tempura and mozzarella on top. Everything was delicious. This restaurant has a large menu with many options. There are two patios (one in the back and one in the front) and a pretty large space for inside dining. I'd recommend a reservation because it was pretty packed for a Friday night dinner."
"15-course omakase to try! The outside is unassuming but the ambience and decor is really sleek with the natural wood paneling, sliding door, and playing some r&b and other old school jams. I was loving the vestaboard in the back that changed with each course so you knew what fish you were having and all the complimenting add-ons to it. Made it engaging to see the board change and saves paper not paper menus (we love clever sustainability options)Each course was really balanced and creative with something savory like hibiscus salt, to citrusy/sour like yuzu aioli or pickled garlic, and even sweet like honey pearls and grape mustard and all the seared gives the slight smokiness and the flame entertainment. Pieces change based on what's in season and what they get flown in! The pieces we received were: 1. Hotate scallops2. Hirame (Fluke)3. Kanpachi (Amberjack)4. Ika (Squid)5. Madai (Japanese Sea Bream)6. Hon Suzuki (Striped Bass)7. Sake Toro (Salmon Belly) - one of our favorite bites!8. Hon Maguro (Blue Fin Tuna)9. Unagi (Fresh Water Eel)10. Saba (Blue Mackerel)11. Kinki (Shortspine Thornhead) - another favorite piece and my first time trying this type of fish!12. Ama Ebi (Sweet Shrimp) - I really liked the addition of sea grapes on here13. Toro Temaki Handroll (Tuna Belly) topped with Uni -of course delicious14. A5 Japanese Wagyu (from Hokkaido)15. Vanilla Ice Cream - some of the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had! Also topped with a wakamomo peach which was another first for me too!Definitely recommend!"
"A business that provides me sushi at a late hour can do no wrong in my mind! And there's the added bonus of it being BYOB.This is a small quaint establishment, with a handful of tables. The sushi was very good, and all the appetizers we got were too! I would probably skip the sashimi next time. Pro tip: they have free crab Rangoons with your order if you dine in and show them the coupon from their website. The service/kitchen is a bit on the slow side, so come here if you are wanting a leisurely meal."
"Had a phenomenal experience here. I have not been to many omakase experiences prior to this one so I didn't know what to expect upon walking in, but everything was absolutely amazing. My partner actually brought me here as a surprise for my birthday so the fact that this place is very hidden and in a spot you would never even guess was also very very cool. My partner and I both have had plenty of great sushi in California as I'm from there and he's been living there for over 10 years, but we were both very surprised at how good/fresh the quality of the fish was here given than Chicago tends to usually have less fresh options because of its location. He even mentioned that it might've been one of the best Omakase experiences he's ever had, and mind you, he's been to handful in both LA, San Francisco, and even NY. Our main head chef, Naomi, was absolutely incredible, super real and down to earth, and funny. She definitely made the experience more memorable, and the bartender and chef we had in front of us were also very professional and friendly. I loved everything about this place and would highly recommend it to others."
"We were surprised to be able to be seated right away for a group of 4 on a Friday. It seemed busy inside but I think many people were there for a takeout order. This place is BYOB, which I appreciated, since their menu is so extensive. I would want them to focus solely on their menu.We got Mackerel a la carte - this was really good. As for rolls, we shared the Mafia, Tequila, Orchard, Inari, and a couple other ones that I can't remember. The black rice ones were surprisingly really good. The menu is very big, so it is very overwhelming to read and choose. I also dislike the amount of super white tuna (escolar) usage - this is a fish that is not very digestible. I'd consider coming back now that I've seen the menu once."
"Okay so I've been here twice since my last review because this is starting to become a staple for me.My favs:The Tokyo sandwich (I think): so this is one of my fav things on the menu. It's mango, salmon and other stuff on a two slabs of rice. There's two sandwiches offered and I think this is the right one. The garlic yellow tail nigiri: 2 pieces of yellow tail seared and has garlic. THEY ARE SO GOOD.Creme brulee: what??? You must be joking. But I'm not. Their creme brulee is $6 and pretty solid portion. Honestly I'm such a creme brulee fiend that I may come back just for the creme brulee. This is not gonna be life changing but it surprisingly solid, and a reasonable price, and a decent size.Everything else I've had I loved. I just really like this place. I usually spend between $30-40 but leave fully full which is nice. I also think I may prefer it to all you can eat because there isn't a pressure to finish everything. You can just take it home."
"Good sushi and while the portions are kind of small, it's very cheap. If that's the only bad thing about it, then this is is still pretty okay. Mesaku is one of the better places to eat in Lincolnwood. Has a pretty okay variety of rolls to choose among. The prices are very good even for basic rolls. Came in at lunch. It's a nicer looking place than expected from the outside. This isn't a place to judge by the looks though. It's about $3 a roll. The rolls are kind of small. Basic looking. The however are a great value. Got the Avocado Roll and the Vegetable Roll. There's a pretty good amount of choices for vegetarians. Avocados were fresh. The other roll was filled with asparagus, avocados, carrots, and cucumbers and was a more filling one for lunch. For sure it's not quite the best place around here to get sushi but it's not that bad. It still has okay flavor and the service is mostly friendly. The rolls are pretty small but these usually have cheap prices."
