Love, Love, Loved this place. The food was great and vibe here was simply the perfect spot on a nice warm summer day.You don't get much better than this, being right on the water front with boats tying up to pick up pizza while you can enjoy drinks and food with friends and family.The calamari was really good and I loved the Rigatoni with vodka sauce. I tried a piece of my wife's truffle pizza and that was sooo good as well.Overall, the food is great, the ambiance is amazing, and the service was solid. This might be one of my go-to spots (when the weather is nice) in Chicago moving forward

Love the vibe! This restaurant is right next to the river, making for a very nice and relaxing lunch on a summer day.As a fan of thin pizzas, I was thrilled with the selection here. The pizzas are light and not too heavy, perfect for a midday meal. My favorite was the charred pepperoni pizza--the pepperoni is perfectly charred, and the hot honey complements it so well. The Fresca pizza was also good, though not as flavorful as the pepperoni.The rigatoni vodka pasta was my favorite dish overall. It was creamy and full of flavor, with the pasta cooked to al dente perfection. The cacio e pepe and the meatballs were also enjoyable, though not particularly memorable.We also tried the Caesar and Mediterranean salads, both of which were simple yet so refreshing and delicious.The servers were attentive, and the prices are very reasonable, making the experience even better.Overall, Pizzeria Portofino is a delightful spot with great food and a relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for a summer lunch by the river!

Highly recommend this place! I feel like this is one of the few places right on the river that is not insanely priced. the views sitting outside right on the river are unmatched in the summer time. We came at 9:30pm and this place was still packed. We started with the Caesar salad and the garlic aioli fries. The salad was fresh and crispy with the cheese on top it was a game changer. The fries came out right away and were a little cold but were still tasty. We then got the charred pepperoni pizza. It was a delicious oven fired pizza with a crispy crust. All of this food was the perfect amount for 2 people to split. Overall this place is worth the hype and in a great scenic spot on the river right in the heart of Chicago. The food for the price and location is a steal! We paid about $150 for everything including tip and 4 drinks. I would recommend this place for a date night or a night out with friends/family from out of town.

Can I just say, WOW! We are so thrilled to have met our friends from out of town here. We made a reservation in advanced and thankfully we did because this place is jam packed with people especially at noon on a summer weekend. Definitely has a lot of Hampton social vibes, nice breezy and sunny interior, great drinks, and just a little loud with the music. A must have to try is the charred pepperoni pizza. I myself don't normally care for pepperoni but I was stealing slices from my husband left and right. And what's even better is that you can pay at the end from the table directly. Great place to entertain family or friends!

Our company had a company dinner, and we had a nice spot nestled in the corner - Great portion sizes that can be easily shared with the table - Full bar with a good selection of cocktails Cons:- Seating arrangements is tight and hard to move around, especially when you go inside to use the restroomOverall: amazing dining experience here. Our company is thinking of hosting our summer outing dinner here again next year because of how great it was this year!

But if you're up for it, the bar seating is first come, first served. We lucked out with a spot. And let me tell you, the views of the river from the patio on a sunny day are gorgeous.I started with one of their Spritz cocktails, which I described as summery and refreshing. What started as a small snack escalated quickly when we couldn't resist ordering the charred pepperoni pizza with hot honey drizzle. Let me warn you now, that hot honey is addictive--I could eat it by the spoonful.Even though we were at the bar, which offers full service, we were well taken care of. The staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, the combination of delicious food, stunning views, and top-notch service makes it a place I'll definitely be returning to. Whether you're a local or just visiting, do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself and make the reservation.

Visited for the first time to celebrate a birthday! The inside is really cute. We got outdoor sitting and it was a lovely view and weather! Recommend making reservation as it tends to get full all the time during summer. The inside felt a little chaotic from how busy it looked so really happy with the outdoor seating. Overall the food was a 7/10. The fries and watermelon and feta salad were my favorite. However, nothing about the food felt amazing to me. Chicago definitely has better Italian places. They brought out sorbet with a sparkler as the birthday treat which was really cute. I do wish our server was more attentive but it was a very busy evening for them. Would recommend for special celebrations.

Fabulous restaurant with stunning views! Thank you so much for making my sister's bridal shower so special! All of our food and drinks were so wonderful and the staff were THE BEST to work with!! I can't recommend them enough. I especially loved the limoncello spritz! Thank you again!

First time dining here. I reserved a lakeside table which I had to pay to reserve but not crazy priced. The ambiance was great, drinks were good!, and decor was pretty, especially with the tea lights at night. The food was average though, not great. My favorite dish of the night was the vodka rigatoni. Pizza and pesto pasta was like I mentioned.
