We did takeout for lunch since we were in the vicinity. The dining space is very laid-back and probably easy to have kids over. At least that's what the very personable and friendly person at the register told me. We ordered two bahn mi sandwiches. The barbecue pork was probably sweeter than the other classic version. We also ordered a dish with egg noodle which came with soup on the side. I appreciated that the cashier telling me not to combine the soup with the noodles since that's not how it's meant to be eaten and it won't be good.

Pho Viet has been our Viet spot now for the last 4 years and we have taken many of our friends to this restaurant. It's our go-to when I'm missing my mom's cooking. My usual is their Bun Bo Hue (I've tried many Bun Bo Hues in the Argyle area, this one is my favorite). Pho is good, love their spring rolls, and Com Suon (rice & pork chops). My husband also likes their catfish dish. Their Vietnamese coffee is great too (Cafe Sua Da)

I've been here many times, but today was not good at all. For starters, the coffee was pretty weak and watered down and the banh xeo fish sauce tasted like water. I'm not sure if the server was new but he seemed to always be rushing us and not really understand what we were asking for.I got a rice plate and again, watery fish sauce. The meats were mediocre- the pork chop was thin and dry. I know this place serves delicious food so not sure if we came on a bad day but if this was my first time going, I wouldn't come back since there's way better places to get Vietnamese food nearby.

Pho Viet is the quintessential family-owned Vietnamese restaurant, complete an enormous menu and crystal chandeliers. Also the karaoke stage in the back, which I have yet to see in use, but I am certain of what it's for. Like I said: the menu is huge. Not everything is good, but many things are. My favorite is - I always forget the name of it, but I am pretty sure it's #117 - fried chicken with rice, Maggi, and a delicious, light chicken broth. So comforting and wonderful. It's hard not to go back to that same order every time. My friends have had the Pho Gà (chicken) and the Bún Bò Huê and they liked it a lot. The Mi Xao was just okay, in my opinion. One of my favorite drinks, Nuoc Mia, is on the menu, but they don't make it anymore :(. The service was solid - I feel very comfortable and at home here. Everyone is very helpful and nice. The prices are fair. They recently had to increase prices a bit, but still fair, I'd say. I can faithfully endorse Pho Viet, but I would advise not to order blindly. I will inevitably be back, and I will probably get my usual and love it :).

It was a Tuesday, so Pho Viet was the only Vietnamese restaurant open in Argyle. This is an excellent business decision. Pho Viet has a massive menu, the length of which rivals Nha Hang's, but unfortunately the quality doesn't touch the other restaurants in the area.Pho with steak and tendon - the broth was on the sweet side, very heavy on the star anise, but missing the steeping-bone depth of a broth that's had a lot of attention and time paid to it. The steak was well-cooked, but the tendon was a bit gummier and had a strong chlorine-y aftertaste.Shrimp egg rolls - the taste was fine, but the texture was bizarre. Nice and crispy skin, but it was like they put the filling in a blender and turned it into paste before filling the egg rolls with it.The best dish was the ca kho to with the addition of pork and crispy pork skins. However, it wasn't really what I would call ca kho to since there was little to no caramelization - just a brown spicy sauce. Regardless, it was tasty, with plenty of fish and crisp fat that melted in your mouth.

Sadly when we went they didn't have any of the banh mi's, next time I think we will try them. The spring rolls were fresh and delicious; the peanut sauce was a bit sweeter than I would have liked, but I didn't mind just eating the roll by itself. The pho was great! I appreciated that the broth was not overly salty and was on the clearer side. The portions were pretty big - granted I did get the large size but I would say it's bigger compared to other places near downtown.Would definitely recommend!

Came here late on a Tuesday night for a take out order. I ordered the Chao Vit (basically a rice porridge congee soup). It contained shredded duck, green onions, cilantro, ginger, and fish sauce. I actually ate it for lunch the next day, but after heating it up it was still delicious! I want to come back here and try their other many dishes. Definitely a plus that they're open a little bit later than some other local Viet spots. They have a huge dining space, and it appears they must have karaoke and other events since there is a stage in the back. Will be back!
