Korean Spoon is low key excellent! It is a small hole in the wall in a small strip, and while their business is largely catering, they do offer dine-in (Tue-Fri: 11am-2pm). There are also prepared side dishes and foods, like various kimbab and Korean pancakes you can pick up and go. There are traditional soups/stews and Korean entrees/snacks offered. The yukgaejang and kalguksu are very good. While most other Korean restaurants in the area have raised prices and cut back on protein/portions, Korean Spoon continues to offer quality food at comparable prices. The owner is very kind and courteous. Really great place for down to earth homestyle Korean cooking and wish they had more dine-in hours. Check them out!

Korean spoon has been around since before the pandemic, and did super well despite the pandemic. They offer so much to-go banchan serving local Korean community, high quality and quantity homemade banchan. You can't find that just anywhere except a few places in Niles/Glenview.Their parking lot was a struggle as it literally is off the road parking, but there are generally enough spaces for 8+ cars. Spicy pork-- this by far is my favorite. First bite really reminded me of the foods I had in Korea. Not overly sweet like many other places, but the marinate flavor really seeped in. It's one of the few spicy porks around the area that isn't too spicy! And they give a decent amount of meat as well as nicely roasted vegetables coated in the sweet spicy gochujang sauce. Kimbap-- I was just gonna order one but I think they package them in two rolls at a time so one is $4.50 and two is $9. I just went with two. They were very thick and I love that they added in spam and burdock roots. The sesame flavor does not come through as much as ASSI plaza food court's but it feels more filling. Flavor is otherwise really balanced and great!Bibimbap-- i love that they provide decent quantity of toppings, really very generic, what you'd expect toppings but all are in really good quality and quantity. Rice is just white rice, as opposed to other nearby places that serves purple rice. But overall, exactly what you'd expect in good quantity and quality.Kal gook soo-- I picked this in hope the kids would eat. This has seafood flavor with peeled shrimp, zucchini, and peeled potato. Thick udon like noodles. I mean, the flavor and smell are great, but my younger kids didn't like it probably because the broth was a bit too thick because of the starch. And the noodle was thicker than they were used to. Oh well, more for our oldest one.Japchae-- also really good quality. The clear noodles are soft but still bouncy and chewy. Also not super sweet, which is ideal in my opinion. Lots of depth of flavor, and vegetables are also had nice sesame roasted flavors. Very quantity too. Owner told me I could microwave it to heat it up, and that they make it fresh everyday.Banchan-- they give four very basic banchan, all are good and what you'd expect. we liked that the fish cake wasn't too spicy with the jalapeño and oil, so that my oldest could eat no problem. Overall, I think the quantity and quantity of this place is superb. I especially like that they don't go overboard on the sweet profile of Korean foods so that other flavors come through. I can't wait to try some of their own banchan stuff. Definitely will come back!

My dear friend Judy invited me here for a late lunch... I had mentioned to her time and time again how much I really wanted to try this place out and... FINALLY. This joint fully met all my expectations... FULLY.Such a cute little spot with amazing food. The menu isn't crazy extensive but everything I had was super yummy. And the service just as good. He's a kind Korean man... obvious he has a sweet spirit. We ordered the jjolmyun, dukbokkee, soondae and kimbob. So, so, so yummy.I believe their main source of income is from their catering though cuz the cafe is only open 11:00-3:00 Tuesday through Saturday. But their catering must be pretty fabulous cuz apparently they deliver to a church in Munster IN. I mean, whaaat?! So. Come here. Eat something. And order something to go for a party. Or just come here and eat something. =]Just FYI... they do have a lot but it's kinda tiny.

I can't believe how much food I got for what I paid for! ALL this for just $13. If you don't like soondae (blood sausage), then just ask for extra kimbop at no extra charge. Above all, it was delicious and I recommend supporting this local business!

Clean authentic Korean food has disappeared over the last decade. This is closest to home cooking you will get. We moved out of state but we always stock up every month when we are in town. Super couple running the business, hard working small business owners with fresh food. Quality is awesome and honest cooking.

Don't recommend for a group meet. Place is small. Table fits about three people. Price is reasonable and good portion. I noticed lot of their dishes are sweet. I ordered jjolmyun. It was good, but got little bit too saucy and sweet for me towards the middle of my meal. Portion was good. If you've been craving Senoya's jjolmyun, go here. My friend ordered combination dish kimbop, ddukboki and soondae $10.99. It was good and good portion than expected. I recommend. I might get that next time. You can also buy pre-made side dishes and soups at this place. Pricy though. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to tip this guy or not. Plus, I think he was the owner. Once he brought our food, he never came to check up on us lol.... It was a weird experience. I did tip 15% even though it was more like a self serve place. Also, I find it strange they close at 3pm.

Stopped by here during their lunch hour to pick up some Korean food to go. I have to say I was quite impressed with the quality of the food prepared for me. Everything tasted super fresh and so reasonably priced and huge portion sizes. I will definitely cater food from if I need to. The only down side is they are open for dine in or carry out 11-1pm Tuesdays through Friday so it will be difficult for me to get here unless I have a day off. Otherwise what a great find!! The owner was super friendly
