This was my first night in Chicago and it did not disappoint. My husband and I dined here last evening at 10pm. There is valet outside however you must have cash or you'll have to walk across to 7/11 for an ATM.Upon arrival we requested to be sat outside. The evening was perfect not too hot or cold. The views were beautiful.I took so many videos and pictures. Our waiter Todd was very attentive. I ordered the wedge salad chopped and my husband ordered a filet. We wanted to order the scalloped potato's but they had just sold out before we arrived. Instead we ordered the hash browns which I was not a fan of. The wedge salad was delicious the perfect amount of bacon to lettuce ratio. My husband requested his filet Pittsburgh style and it came out delicious! A great dining experience I would recommend this place.

We stopped in for an unexpected late afternoon drink / apps after our initial restaurant was a bust... what a gem! The view of the river was great (we were at a smaller table, but still had a great view under a lovely tree to protect us from the sun), the food was amazing but the service was even better. We ordered a few drinks and a few apps... the star of the show was the "lobstercargot" and we also ordered the tuna tartar, filet sliders and nueske bacon. The food was all great but, here's the best part, rather than dropping the plates in the center of our small table, 2 servers accompanied our server and divided our apps among 3 plates, creating 'sample' plates for each of us. I have never seen this done (split a salad, sure; even a split entree, but never apps.

Service: 5 stars. The staff is literally amazing. This team is serious about providing an enjoyable experience.Ambiance: 4 stars. The interior beauty and their choice of loud bar music, inside, don't really mix well. Outside, yes. Dining room, no.Food: 3.5 stars. We ordered the 8 oz Filet and the Bone-in Filet. Delicious! 4.5 stars. That's terrific, right? Well, it would have been - except the potatoes ruined the meal. We are a meat and potatoes couple. I ordered the scalloped potatoes, and she always orders fries. THE SCALLOPED POTATOES HAVE A HARD SHELL-LIKE TOPPING THAT COULD BE USED AS A PROTECTIVE COVERING FOR A CONSTRUCTION SITE. The fries looked and tasted like they were thrice-fried. Unacceptable for a steak house to fail with POTATOES! The brussel sprouts were outstanding, but I was angry about the potatoes. I had to flip them over just to taste one. I didn't ding them for initially bringing me the wrong steak. They brought out a Ribeye instead of the Bone--in Filet Mignon. That's an odd mistake for an upscale Steak House, but I let it go. So, don't ask why I didn't let them know about the potatoes... I already waited for my steak twice - now I am supposed act as quality control for the edibility of their potatoes? Wait, when do I get to just eat? I have to work too? No thanks. No, I won't be back. No, you can't make it right. No, it's not personal.... THIS IS CHICAGO (my hometown, by the way).

This is one of my favorite steakhouse in the city. I have been several times and the food and service is always great. Some highlights are the Cajun ribeye, big enough to share, too seasoned in the best way! Thick cut bacon, French onion soup, lobstercargot, and the au gratin potatoes are some other standouts. Get a table outside while the weather is nice and enjoy the river views!

We opted to sit outside because the weather was nice. However, all the small tables were by the restaurant side and the big tables were by the river side. So we didn't get to sit by the river. You can see the Chicago skyline and the train going through the bridge once in a while. We ordered the French onion soup and brussel sprouts to share. For entrees we got the center barrel cut filet mignon and dry aged marinated Cajun rib eye. French onion soup was delicious! It has some flavors from the steak and the cheese on top was perfect. Brussel sprouts has bacon lardons and maple syrup but it tasted more on the sweet side. I enjoyed it but James was not a big fan. On the steak part, I like how the steaks were cooked medium rare throughout (even the edge). The flavor was good on both of the steaks. You can taste the Cajun on the dry aged marinated rib eye. I don't know if my palate favored salty food at that moment but I needed to add some salt to the steaks. Service was excellent. I forgot his name but he was training a new server. He was attentive. We put down a note that we were celebrating our anniversary and he gave us compliment dessert. We picked the Oreo mint ice cream pie and it was good too.

Came here during a work trip in June and it was also my first time in Chicago. If you can snag a seat at the outdoor patio you'll hands down experience the most immaculate views and dining experience you can get in Chicago. They're known for their steaks but the highlight for me was the seafood tower. Service was very attentive and elevated. This is a prime location where the ambiance and vibes might be even better than the food.

Soooo.... I was disappointed. The restaurant has that old school steak house feel but it trying too hard to be modern, in an awkward way. They offer alfresco dining which is fine but the doors are open and you get the insect dining experience. The music selection is today's pop or young listeners choice which is fine but it was tooo loud!!! We could barely hear the waitor or he us. He was young and inexperienced with a heavy accent which didn't help either. The food was disappointing for the amount we paid. My husband asked for medium rare and received a medium well. He is the type that does not like to send his food back so he sawed through it. I had soup and salad. This is a one and done!!!

Love the steak Fritz here! It's been a while since we were here, so it was time for a visit. We had the most perfect romantic anniversary dinner here..Both our Delmonico steaks were cooked perfectly. We opted for the Brussels sprouts this time as they were prepared with ham lardons & maple syrup. It was delicious. Well balanced & perfectly executed. Superb. And the most beautifully presented. The whole dinner was simplistic perfection. We also both LOVE that the tomato with mozzarella comes on the side here. Traditional steakhouse fabulousness. As a matter of fact, McGuires Irish Pub in our hometown of Pensacola, Florida serves the tomato topped with Mozzarella the very same way. OuiOui. Beautiful Steakhouse, has fabulous outdoor patio seating with views. Very Romantic with an excellent wine list. The best of our Anniversary weekend. Winners Circle! Adding to moi fave steak places list. OuiOui. Highest Recommendations.

On our way to hotel, our Uber driver recommended few spots to try! Gibson steak house was one of the places to try. Also Chicago cut steak house was another! We went on a Friday night to Gibson steak and it was so busy! I'm glad it was busy because we ended up going to Chicago cut Steakhouse and it was amazing. The only thing is that it was really loud and crowded and tables were so close. You Could barely hear your friend talk. I had the soup butternut squash which was okay 3/5 and we got lobster mac & cheese, and the whipple potato. The lobster mac & cheese were really good, but the potato was not really that great. This is one of the steak houses that I would say I have eaten after Berns steakhouse on Tampa Florida. I had the filletnminuon medium plus which was good! Super tender and tasty. The basket of bread, every single type of bread they had there was beyond amazing! I could just eat that! The good thing is, I'll be able to get a reservation the same day but the fact it was crowded I did not enjoy that. When I think of expensive steakhouse, I think of quiet and fancy. Butt his was the opposite however super good food!

Oh how the mighty have fallen! This place was my favorite steak place for years but after a bad experience a couple years ago I decided to put it in the penalty box as there's so many other great restaurants in chicago. After a long hiatus I decided to give it another try...BIG MISTAKE! Not only has it not gotten better but it's actually worse! Our group of seven spent a small fortune and not one person enjoyed the experience. My bone in filet($99) was cooked about right(slightly undercooked) but the quality was horribly lacking. The scalloped potatoes were quite literally gross and the Brussels sprouts weren't much better. The ambiance of sitting outside on the river was amazing but that's about all I can say positively as the service was lacking also. There's TONS of great restaurants in our amazing city! This is not one of them. AVOID IT!
