Chen's Kitchen

Best Chinese food I've had in years! Just moved to Franklinton last year and decided to give Chen's Kitchen a try instead of making the drive into WF. Our usual order is sweet and sour soup, pork fried rice, egg rolls and wonton soup. My husband says that the mark of a good Chinese restaurant is if they put pork in the wonton soup and lo and behold, there's a piece of pork in the soup! Will definitely be back!

For a small town Chinese food place, I really enjoy Chen's. I'm always greeted by the same worker on the phone and in person and she is always nice. The food stays consistent. I'm pretty basic with my order, plain lo mein (always has good flavor) broccoli in garlic sauce(always yummy, I've been to plenty of other Chinese takeout spots where they mess up and have no flavor, but Chen's always tastes good), eggroll. And I also order hotsour soup.... And it's the best in our area. So many ingredients and FLAVOR! Ive had it from about 3 other Chinese food places in the area and the others are light broth and taste like dirty water. Chen's hot sour soup is darker with a lot of toppings. It's def a must, always tasty.

When you call to place an order, the lady that answers the phone is rude. She doesn't greet at all, takes your order then slams the phone. Other than that the food is good.

Our family has been getting Chinese food here for years. Their food is always excellent. The front end lady is the nicest and sweetest lady! My only complaint is that they never have the Chinese donuts in stock and I wish they delivered.

Not from the area, just driving through and stopped. Everything we had was good and fresh..,vegetable mai fun was fresh and had a nice touch of garlic, hibachi shrimp was exactly what I was looking for with grilled shrimp and vegetables with no sauce, and fried chicken wings. Typical take out Chinese place with fresh vegetables, good food, and friendly counter person.

I have had take-out from Chen's in Franklinton somewhat frequently and always thought the food was worthy of 3-4 stars. However, something has changed. Last weekend, the same hard-working staff was present, but most of my order was not worth the $30 I paid for it. The Mongolian beef was good, but the fried noodles and the fortune cookies were stale and inedible. The egg roll and the crab rangoon were left in the fryer too long, and the egg foo young (which took 50 minutes to prepare) was burnt. The up-front person, who has been typically friendly, was down-right surly and rude ("I told you your order would be ready in 30 minutes! It hasn't been 30 minutes." ((It had been 30 minutes since I phoned in my order, and I waited 20 more minutes before I was handed my order)); no "Thank you" when I paid for or picked up my order). Given all, I wish Chen's well, but I won't be back.

While the food is good and average for a Chinese restaurant, the ambiance is lacking any substance and leaves you feeling like the place is abandoned even if the place is full of people. Service is quick, though it isn't kind. Just enough to get you your food and send you on out. Sometimes they do take quite a bit of time, but only if they're busy.

Food is terrible, especially considering the high prices. The sesame chicken was just General Tso chicken with sesame seeds sprinkled on top, fried rice is not fried at all, just yellow rice with some onions. Surprised they're able to stay in business. But, at least they're open on Sundays!

A restaurant doesn't need French speaking chefs or a head chef who throws temper tantrums. Chen's kitchen is proof that even a small business can produce excellent food across the far eastern spectrum. Service is also great. No matter how busy it may get. If the ambiance were to improve then I'd give 6 stars for sure. Chen 's Hot Sour Soup and any form of hot & spicy beef are my personal favorites.

Just walked out. Not the same.Wallpaper is peeling off the walls all over. Sign for food ordering is missing panels.water marks on ceiling.Ordered food and she was yelling at my wife on the phone, and almost cut off her order and hung up on her before we even finished ordering. Was quoted 10 minutes. Walked in at 12 and stood there for 5-10 (20 minutes total). During this time she yelled at someone else on the phone and most importantly--THEIR CHEF IS NOT WEARING A MASK DURING FOOD PREP.
