Chen's Garden

Pretty solid Chinese food. After spending four years away from Chicago in a land with no good Chinese food (seriously, wth, Austin?), I was so eager to move back to Chicago to have good Chinese food at my disposal. Except I moved out of the delivery area of my absolute favorite spot. I decided to roll the dice on the strip mall place not far from our new place, and boy am I glad I did. Chen's is tasty and comes with pretty good portions. The fried rice is really good, and plentiful. I keep craving the sweet and sour chicken here. FYI, if you order the sauce on the side (better for reheating), they'll charge ya 50 cents. Really good smoothies, too! Wish you could get them in a smaller size, though.

Fried shrimp dish will blow your mind. It's tasty, affordable and delicious. Their crab rangoon is also a crowd favorite. Keep in mind that any order is going to be more than one meal!

They're between a two and a three - very hit or miss. I had an amazing meal there the first time but not the best service, second time the food was just awful and it was a huge disappointment because I was hoping to make this my go to carry out place. I've never thrown out so much carry out food in my life I don't think, and I hate wasting food.Their smoothies are pretty good and consistent, but their fried rice, lo mein, and egg rolls were really inconsistent so I don't know if I'd go in just for the smoothie.

I recently ordered takeout from Chen's Garden. I have not been here in years but I wanted to get some Chinese food for my love, and she had not tried this place previously. This smallish restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall on Pulaski with three other chain food establishments, but we wanted to support a local place. They have lunch and dinner specials where you can get a main course, shrimp fried rice and egg roll. My love enjoyed her fried shrimp dinner, and the pieces of fried shrimp sure did look massive. My large order of Cantonese-style BBQ pork chow mein satisfied my craving for chow mein, though it is not as tasty as many other chow mein dishes I have sampled across Chicagoland. They did separate the pan-fried noodles in another carton from the rest of the ingredients to ensure the crispiness of the noodles. Chen's Garden serves its food in heaping portions, the pricing is reasonable, the staff whips up the orders fairly quickly, and the leftovers heat up well enough too. I hear the smoothies are pretty good, so one of these days I may have to try one.

This really hit the spot! Everything I ordered was exactly how I like it. The potstickers were juicy and delicious. The general Tso's chicken was still crispy and coated with a spicy sweet sauce. Delicious! I opted for the bbq pork fried rice and it was perfect! The wonton soup was also superb. I ordered delivery and it was so fast! I will definitely be ordering here again!

The chicken smelled old and the inside looked expired. Has a weird smell when I ate it, and it wasn't cooked right. You could still see the red meat inside.

huge portions and SUPER delicious. perfect amount of sauce on my sesame chicken, amazing flavor super fresh and tasty. cannot recommend enough!!

This place was phenomenal. We ordered 4 different catering trays the same day, it was ready in 45 minutes and everything we ordered was delicious. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very kind and accommodating. I highly recommend the Mongolian beef and general tso's chicken. Thank you again Chen's Garden. We WILL be ordering from you again soon.

Orange chicken was one of worst i ever had. Rice was also not that good. Disappointed.
