Chen Wok

This is the worst Chinese food I've had in quite some time and that's saying a lot because the Phoenix area isn't exactly a hotbed for good Chinese. We ordered veggie fried rice, orange chicken and house chicken. The house chicken was like a salt lick for a goat. Totally inedible. My wife is usually the person adding salt to food saying it's not seasoned enough (when it is) and the first thing she said when she tried it is it's too salty. It was horrendous. The orange chicken came with sauce separated out into a container but the sauce was so hot it melted through the styrofoam and into the bag. It's hard to mess up orange chicken but this was likewise not good at all. The fried rice was also overly salty and felt disjointed with random huge pieces of veggies. It's a shame because it's so close to us but we won't be ordering from here again. Complete waste of money.

Chen Wok is by far the most spotlessly clean sndreasonably priced Chinese food restaurant in ALL of the Valley.The Employees are all the most pleasant, respectful, loveable folks on the planet.Please try them out.

Dinner special combination Orange chicken with Lo mein.comes with one egg roll one cream puff and one exiting prophecy your future might withhold. (Fortune cookie). The orange chicken was supper crispy. Loved it. Wish the lo mein had a little more flavor, Still very good. Small family owned business. In a rush? Call it in. Took 10 min to get my food. They are quick. Oh and they take Apple Pay.

Tried Chen Wok twice. First time would have given it 4 stars. Second time was only worthy of 2. So here I am in the middle. The first time I had it, I ordered the house fried rice, spicy orange chicken, and beef lo mein and all of it was solid. Was it the best I've ever had? No. Was it fancy or authentic Chinese? No. Was the orange chicken spicy? No. But the flavors were good, the portions were large, and the price was right. Everything was far better than a place like Panda or chain place. The second time I had it, I only got orange chicken. I didn't ask for it spicy this time but it was actually spicy which was a pleasant surprise but it was SO sweet. It tasted like candy and after 2-3 pieces of chicken felt pretty gross. I could feel the sugar between my teeth when chewing and wound up not finishing most of it. Very disappointing. I'll definitely be back to Chen Wok but I'm really hoping that my second trip was a fluke instead of my first trip. If it can be consistent, this could be an easy go-to takeout spot.

I have been a loyal customer for 10 years..today was the end of that! I ordered $50.00 worth of food, 2 were the lunch specials. I paid $2.00 extra for fried rice upcharge on both specials. When I got home and opened them up I found white rice with soy sauce mixed in to make it look like fried rice. No egg or carrots just white rice with soy sauce. You can even see chuncks of white rice where it was not mixed in all the way. This is very upsetting as they did this on purpose..there are no sides of white rice with soy sauce mixed in that they could of put in by mistake....they did it to deceive the customer! I did call..she apologized and said they are under new ownership...that's even worse!!!! What else are they hiding? They offered to make fried rice if I came back in...I told her no, I'm not driving all the way back in. I told her I will never go there again!!! Total bs and shady!!!!

the chen wok restaurant has the best chinese food around ! the business is always spotless and immaculately clean.all employees are super respectful, friendly, and top of the line. the food is excellent !please try this amazing clean friendly dine in or take out location.you will not be disappointed!

Most deceptive place regarding portions in the entire surprise area for Chinese food. I order 1 lunch special and one dinner meal. Are you able to tell me which is which. The lady on the phone con me into getting the dinner because of larger portions but it actually appears that the lunch special came with far more chicken. Feel like I got ripped off. Don't make the same mistake

Food service is awesome, food taste great, but they are getting pricey just like everyone else, but worth it

I love this restaurant! They make my fried rice just as like! The ambiance is like at a 0! I don't think they want anyone to eat there since Covid! But the staff is friendly!

We have been going to Chen Wok for the last 15 years. I can honestly say the food is still good, but the customer service and cost are both not as good anymore. The staff seem short with you and don't even smile or engage. Also, the prices have really floored us lately. We ordered 2 lo mein, 1 Mongolian beef, and 2 orders of crab rangoons. The amount (before taxes or tip) came out to a whopping 70 dollars! I understand the economy is bad and what not, but I think until this place can come back down to reasonable prices for things, we won't be back unfortunately.
