Beautiful restaurant with a beautiful staff. We came in (no reservations) and was immediately greeted and seated.Their happy hour is limited and a bit pricier that most I have seen...but the food is amazing! We ordered the fried salmon, wagyu burgers, and Caesar salad. SO GOOD!! And the drinks were amazing!I also love they give you fun icebreaker conversation cards....such a cool and fun touch! I seriously enjoyed this beautiful restaurant and will be sure to visit again!

Definitely a 5 star experience! From the moment we walked in until the time we left, we felt comfortable and well taken care of. The live band was amazing! The private room that we had was super cool. It was enough space for the entire party (it was 11 of us). There are also many photo opps, space for navigating around, and more! We started with water and cocktail order. The drinks made it to us pretty quickly. They came back and took our food order. I tried the lemon drop flight and it was amazing. The food was even more delicious! I had Australian marinated Lamb Chops with demi glaze on a bed of garlic mash potatoes. The meat was super tender and juicy. Each bite was filled with flavor. The potatoes were buttery and whipped to perfection. It is very filling and worth every dime spent. Overall, this was a nice eating experience. I love how they made everyone that was celebrating a birthday feel special. They do have a photographer as well that comes in and take photos that you can purchase at the end of your visit. I would definitely say this is a must try if you are visiting the Chicago area!

This place was ok. I love the live music.. that's the best part for me. They have questions on the table to help with conversations. That's a nice touch. Staff were all nice and helped each other out. A dj came in later to play music and the music was great. It was just too loud. My guy and I had to keep repeating ourselves as we set right next to one another. Appetizers were good. Main course I had steak and it was cooked perfectly and it was delicious!

The atmosphere was vibrant, the service was impeccable, and the food was outstanding. I ordered the salmon, which was truly exceptional, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak, beautifully presented. Our friend relished the lamb chops. The drinks were plentiful and delicious. The attention to detail in presentation and decor, including the captivating smoke effects, added to the experience. Live music on a Sunday night was a delightful touch. We would eagerly return and wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to others.

Nice Black-Owned restaurant with good vibes & pretty tasty food. I have been to Chemistry twice over the past two -ish years. I really like the ambience or vibe of this restaurant. I think it puts you in the mood to celebrate something (whether that's a birthday, anniversary, a promotion, etc.). During my first visit, I came with my boyfriend for a date night. We got the truffle Alfredo fries, the butter cake, the grilled salmon, and vegetarian steak and potatoes. Overall, we enjoyed our food and the live music that was happening that night. A few weeks ago, I came with some friends to celebrate someone's birthday. We were able to get a pretty large table and appreciated the sparkler birthday service that the staff did. This time around, I ordered several items and split them with friends. We got the Wagyu sliders, the chicken wings, and the Alfredo (added in steak). The food was pretty good and was the perfect amount to share between three people.

Chemistry was not what I had hoped for. It was a friend's birthday and she reserved a table. Upon arrival, we were seated and did not see our server for 25-30 minutes. Finally, he arrived to take orders. 30-40 minutes later, our food arrives. My friend and I ordered the chicken and a side of macaroni. The macaroni did not arrive with our food we were told it would be out shortly. 10 minutes later we asked again and was told again it would be out shortly. 10 more minutes and no macaroni. We ask that it be taken off the bill since we were done with dinner. We then ask for the check it arrives with both macaroni on it, and we ask again that this be taken off. 10 minutes later, he comes back, and only one order of Mac had been removed. 10 minutes later, he's back with the corrected check and takes payment. BUT the deposit for the table reservation was not removed from the bill. At this point, we ask for a manager and was told he was the maitre-d and the manager. He explained he was sorry, they were short staff and he usually doesn't work in this section of the restaurant. After being here for close to 3 hours, we were over it and promised to never return. The food wasn't bad, but the service was so bad and slow it's definitely a no for me as far as a return visit.

I'd seen Instagram videos of Chemistry a couple years back, and knew I had to go!! It was dubbed as the only black owned steakhouse in Chicago and perfect for date night. There are cards that act as conversation starters on each table. That was unique, so I had to go! Fast forward to a few weeks ago, my friends and I confirming that none of us had been and we'd like to go. I made a reservation on Open Table, a deposit isn't required, which is great.I'd looked at the menu beforehand, as well as Yelp. Many reviewers mentioned the 5% entertainment charge for live music. Ehh, I figured not a big deal if there was a singer or musician playing on the night of our reservation. The menu didn't scream steakhouse, as there are only 4 cuts of steak on the menu and only one size per cut. When we arrived, I saw neon lights, faux flowers, gold Amazon chairs with no cushion, tables with no tablecloths, and the concrete floor. For the price point they are asking, the ambience nor clientele gives upscale steakhouse vibes -- moreso overpriced black restaurant. I truly thought that I would have an experience similar to BLVD, or Maple & Ash, or even STK. That did not happen. I ordered the petit filet, which comes with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I was able to sub my asparagus for creamed corn. I also got a side of mac, which I asked to start with. My food all came out at once. My steak was unseasoned, and just not good for $50+. My creamed corn on the other hand was amazing! That was the best dish that we had the entire meal. My friend ordered the lamb chops, and she was unimpressed. The Mac and cheese for $14 tasted like Stouffer's and had a bit too much cheese for my preference. I prefer creamier mac than cheesier, but again that's just my preference. One of the highlights that we all came for were the conversation starter cards. Our cards were dirty, like people with greasy hands kept touching them, but they staff hadn't wiped them down between guests. There is a large projector at the front of the restaurant, which played a basketball game. There was a DJ for the first hour of our meal (from 9-10pm). The music was R&B and hip hop, but the volume was entirely too loud to have a conversation with people at your own table. I thought the entertainment fee was just for live music, but I guess the DJ is considered live music, so the 5% + 20% gratuity fee was included on our bill. Would not recommend and won't be back. Chemistry is just not for me, and that's okay. Other parties seemed to enjoy themselves, but this was not the level of service or quality I was expecting.

The food was absolutely amazing, the service was phenomenal and the ambiance was incredible. I love the band. The entertainment was a perk while enjoying your meal. My cousin birthday was this particular day and they surprised her with dessert and a birthday cheer. This location is top tier and I can't wait to return.
