Che Gaucho

We wanted empanada and had heard this was a pretty good place so we stopped by. It was a very busy night (we were in no hurry) and it's a family run business and everyone was very nice. So we made sure to let them no it wasn't a problem if things took a bit longer. The food was good and tasty . Good flavors and the sauce for the empanadas and bread was soo good. It's a pretty small place so best you make reservations. We love supporting small businesses so we love finding places like this to try and support.

Cheewawenos!! I know that's not a word, but it if it was, it would describe Che Gaucho. I was impressed with the food!I took my son - we ordered an empanada, a cheese pizza, and the beef milanesa with 5 cheeses. Everything was fresh and impressive. And the flavor? OMG. After we received our food I became momentarily stressed because the menu is quite extensive. I tried to do the math in my head to figure out how many visits it would take me to work my way through the menu - it made me realize that I'm impatient. So, I texted a few food pics to friends and volun-told to prepare to come eat here. I figure we can all order different stuff and sample everything on the table. Modern problems require modern solutions!As for the service - they aren't fast, but that's okay. This is one of this places where the wait is worth it. The place is quiet - so you can have conversations without screaming. My only gripe is the air conditioner doesn't blow very cold so it's a little warm - but I will overlook that as well in order to put that food in my tummy.Would I go back? Well, I kind of already did because I ordered a dozen empanadas to go.

Why 5 stars? Because the empanadas changed me. --- --- ---I've never considered myself to be an empanada person, but after trying the empanadas at Che Gaucho, I think I have to amend that position. I am now a fan of empanadas when they are done by Che Gaucho.I started off with the italian empanada, which was like the highest-grade Hot Pocket that's ever been made. And I finished with the banana dulce de leche empanada, which was the perfect way to end this meal.In between the appetizer and dessert, I ordered a churrasco, which was solid, but I will admit I've had better. The salad that accompanied it was probably the biggest disappointment of the entire experience, but I suppose if one thing is going to be subpar, you'd pick that to be the side salad. So while this was probably somewhere between a 4 and 5 star experience, I'm rounding up because the empanadas were THAT good. Next time, my entire meal will be empanada-based.

We got the Milanesa and the spicy ground beef empanadas. We brought our own wine and the ambience is quiet, small, and cozy. We enjoyed our dinner. With Specs and Heb down the road, just grab your favorite wine and enjoy.

DELICIOSO!! We found this little hidden place in old Tomball. Looking to try new Latin places around town and I'm so glad we chose this. Bring your own beer or wine too! Their specialty appetizer Provoleya is a must try!! I ordered 3 different empanadas: chicken, Salteña and Spinach & Cheese. So good!! My husband ordered the skirt steak entree with Papas Fritas a la Provenza & asparagus and was so flavorful. All around the food tasted amazing and will recommend!!!

Update!Ok...sooooo i just had my 3rd visit. Each time I'm telling you its better than the time before. How is this possible? I had to bring my sister, nephew and parents this time. Its just sooo good. I tried to go 2 other times this week but they were closed. Seriously, so good we cant get enough!!!!!First visit:Im so glad we happened upon this amazing hole in the wall!!!!!! Such an awesome meal. Those empanadas- like what?!?!?!?! The flavors are heavenly. Their different chimichuris are so flavorful and loving! We got a bunch to go too bc it was soo good we couldn't leave without having more for later - no lie! We also had the milenasa pollo, fries with chimichuri and asparagus. I CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!!!and our waitress, Kennedy, was the absolute best. A table full of jerks were being awful to her and she just smiled and did what she could to make them happy. She was great. We love this place

We asked to share the main course. Instead we received two main courses. The difference was an additional $51. Greater than $150 for two of us - no drinks as we took our own wine. We paid - we left - we will not be back. The food was good. But listening to customers is what it is all about. The owner makes lots of statements in response to these comments online - but obviously does not make any changes to the operations in the restaurant. We brought a huge amount of meat home. Breakfast, lunch and maybe dinner tomorrow.The location was busy. Only one wait person who was attentive - for a Saturday night. They obviously need more help. I read these sort of comments in the reviews before we went there - it is true. A shame - with a little more TLC this place could be excellent. The owner needs to act on these reviews - not just comment on suggesting they are going to make changes and then ignore them in their operations.

I have read all the reviews and today was the day I needed to try these wonderful empanadas. The lady at the counter was so helpful in aiding me in my decision. I ordered the 4 empanadas lunch special (ground beef, shredded spicy beef, eggplant Parmesan, and the cheesy corn one/I forget the actual contents). All 4 empanadas were wonderful especially with the chimchurri sauce. Service is was wonderful! A must stop if visiting Tomball!

Today, my friends and I decided to try out a new eatery in the local area. The restaurant is extremely small and quaint. I was greeted by a nice Colombian waiter that knew the menu pretty decently and could make his recommendations when asked. We ordered the steak, a steak sandwich, a cheese pizza, and half of dozen of Empanadas and a side salad. I feel the waitress became flustered serving our party which consisted of three small children (which ate off our plate) and four adults. Sides were being missed. The wrong pizza was placed and the waitress was not able to make the correction to the bill as the system was limited. My favorite part of the dinner experience was the appetizer which was a bread served at room temperature along with a chimichanga sauce. The empanadas had the perfect amount of cheese. I love white, stringy cheese when you pulled apart the empanadas. Man, was it delish and delightful. Steak was overcooked and too hard to eat. I probably won't recommend any dishes with steak. Will I return, I am not sure but it was nice to try a new spot.

A cozy, unpretentious restaurant. The table is yours for as long as you want, no rushing.Harrison is an excellent waiter. He is attentive without being intrusive. His knowledge of the menu is excellent.The food is the best. And that's why we treat ourselves 3-4 times a month. We ordered an appetizer of Chorizo/ morcilla.... Excellent Main dish Parrilla de Bifes , four cuts of beef, Filet Mignon, New York strip, Ribeye and Flank steak, medium, absolute perfection. True medium. Tender as butter. Sides, Arroz Gaucho , outstanding. Papas Freitas a la provenzal, wow!Grilled asparagus , truly amazing.Dessert 1 apple and 1 banana empanada with vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and a strong espresso to top off this truly amazing and delicious meal.
